Watch Dogs 2 is the jump forward in the series that the game needed to succeed. Comparatively, it's what Assassin's Creed 2 was to the first Assassin's Creed if not even better. Watch Dogs 2 is definitely one of the sleeper hits of the year. I was expecting to have fun with it, but I wasn't expecting to become absolutely transfixed with the incredible style, characters and storyline. It's a must-play game and for those that own a PlayStation 4 Pro, you should definitely pick it up just for the visual feast alone.

Dodgy framerate aside, the deeply political Watch Dogs 2 is an improvement over its predecessor in every possible respect.

Watch Dogs 2 might very well be the best open world game of 2016. It offers ton of content, different ways to complete missions and brilliant visuals. If you are a fan of open world games, you should be playing Watch Dogs 2. Period.

I think that Watch Dogs 2 wants to say a whole lot about the contemporary world, but it never moves away from generic statements like “information good” and “military-industrial complex bad” to say anything specific. In fact, it has some profound convictions about not saying much at all. The positions it lays out remind me of competitive debate: forcefully presented but never all that convincing.

Overall, these three new Operations feel very consistent with the standard set by the core Watch Dogs 2 experience. The chance to return to San Francisco and geek it up with the DedSec team is welcome, and their characterisation remains as energetic and positive as ever.

Don't mind hipster feeling of Watch Dogs 2. Game is an exceptionally solid production with an open world whose creators have understood what the players wanted from the beginning of the series.

You’ll almost certainly enjoy it if you buy it, but I can’t recommend it if you haven’t.

Watch Dogs 2 finally breaks with the "Ubisoft Formula" to create an open-world game that feels somewhat fresh and interesting. What a relief.

They've injected more fun and diversity this time around, and they've done so with a city backdrop that is truly alive, and is utterly inviting.

Watch Dogs 2 is a superior game to its predecessor and a thoroughly entertaining romp in a season light on open world offerings.

Whilst Ubisoft makes a strong effort to improve upon the original, there are still major problem with this hacking open world game.

You have the freedom to explore San Francisco and see the sights, get involved with side quests, or keep going after Blume. It’s this wonderfully open and freeing experience and, while I can’t speak much to the multiplayer endeavors due to extenuating circumstances, Watch Dogs 2 feels like a stronger, more solid, and more enjoyable game.

Watch Dogs 2 tells the story of Marcus Holloway in a completely different way than the first chapter. There are some interesting additions that will be digested only if they're close to your personal taste. This is a fun title that can entertain you for a few dozen hours without difficulty, but it isn't able to emotionally get you in the beautiful but hardly-dynamic San Francisco.

Watch Dogs 2 has created an immersive world, disturbingly close to the real one. It’s still a fictitious San Francisco, but sometimes it’s difficult to tell which bits are made up. With rich, in depth missions, colourful characters, and fun open world gameplay, this might just be the best game I’ve played this year.

The tone shifts could leave a bad taste in some people’s mouths but overall, any negatives of Watch Dogs 2 are minor and far outweighed by the sheer amount of fun that can be had in this vibrant and exciting world.

With a wealth of gameplay options and a welcome degree of freedom, Watch Dogs 2 is a stellar entry in Ubisoft’s open-world hacking franchise. Minor technical and narrative concerns aside, there’s no reason for you not to check out one of the better games of this year.
