Tumblestone Reviews
Tumblestone has thought of just about everything to create a fun and rewarding puzzle game experience. It spreads out a smorgasbord of options for one player or more, balancing sit-and-think challenges with drag racing action and spur-of-the-moment accessibility. The whole thing comes wrapped in a pretty package and with a nearly overwhelming amount of extra options. The eShop price for Tumblestone might be on the higher side, and it's a pity there's not much of an online scene at the time of writing, but this is a full game that deserves a place among Tetris Attack, Dr. Mario and other friendly puzzlers that have chiseled out a name for themselves.
Tumblestone is an excellent puzzle game that definitely deserves to be played by fans of the genre. Aside from maybe Puyo Puyo Tetris, you are unlikely to find a puzzle game that offers quite this much content and such an addictive nature. The lack of any online functionality is disappointing, though, and whilst the Switch's portability could have made this the definitive version, this odd omission takes away a nice feature unnecessarily. If you haven't played the game before, though, or aren't fussed about playing online – this is still a very solid choice.
Tumblestone is a clever and intriguing puzzle game... with a somewhat confusing selling model and and awful art department.

If you are at all a fan of puzzle games, play Tumblestone. Its intelligent spin on a simple mechanic forces players to plan ahead and think about the consequences of their actions. There is a veritable ton of single-player content, which unfortunately must be completed in order to unlock the rule-changing modifiers for use in the game's arcade mode. It truly shines when playing with friends in the same room as you all shout expletives while simultaneously thinking that the winner must be a complete genius.
Tumblestone is a fun game for the first several hours but then it starts becoming tedious from the sheer number of puzzles that you face.
Tumblestone is a nice three match game, with some original ideas and a great longevity. Despite that the artistic design is poor and the game it's totally overpriced.

Tumblestone is a magnificent puzzle game which visibly stands out as one of the best titles of the genre in the Wii U catalogue. Pity the disproportionate gap between its gameplay and its visual and sound components, as well as its cost, as these flaws prevent it from being even more of an indispensable option for any Wii U player.

You don't even have to really like the match-3 genre to enjoy Tumblestone. Barring some sort of moral or principled objection to the genre, you definitely need to play it. It is a rare breed of game that offers exactly what it promises, and does so flawlessly.
Very quickly Tumblestone went from just any other casual puzzle game to the best puzzle game I've played in years
Although the port for the Switch mostly holds up with other versions, the lack of online play definitely makes this an inferior version. That aside, it still serves up reams of fun and is an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a fresh take on a puzzle game.
I really enjoyed Tumblestone. It has all the fast-paced action I’m looking for in a puzzle game without the annoying mircrotransaction system that ruins them for me. It features tons of fun modes including single and multiplayer modes. I spent hours playing the game for my Tumblestone review, and plan to continue playing until I can finally get that Platinum trophy. Next time you have a buddy over dig this one out for hours of fun and aggravation!
I had a ton of fun playing the game for my Tumblestone review. There’s dozens of hours of fun to be had with this game, so it’s very much worth its asking price. There’s something for everyone in this new take on the match-three puzzle genre, and puzzle lovers need to download this one today!
Tumblestone is delightful and surprisingly addictive. The wide variety of challenges, all which subtly change the pacing of the game, make for an experience that doesn't really grow old. The story mode keeps things fresh with twists on the basic mechanics, and the arcade and multiplayer modes present fast-paced challenges that really test observation and decision making. No matter what experience puzzle-lovers are looking for, they'll probably find it in Tumblestone.
Between solo and multiplayer content, Tumblestone is filled to the brim with content. If the concept hooks you, the amount to do is near endless. The single-player campaign can get very demanding, but even if the challenge halts your progress, the endless modes and multiplayer modes offer fun no matter what your skill level is. This is the strongest new puzzle game concept in a very long time.
Tumblestone deserves credit for being unique in a genre that often times plays things too safe and predictable.
Tumblestone is a solid puzzler, packed with content whether you’re playing alone or with a group. While the core concept may not be the best in class, there’s certainly enough fun to be had here and a cool game to come back to every now and again to tackle a couple more puzzles.
All said Tumblestone is a very strong contender in the action puzzler space and sets itself apart by not trying to imitate what is successful and instead finds its own way, and it does so quite successfully. The emphasis moreso on puzzle solving is an engaging twist but that’s not to say that the game slows down or is meditative. In mutli-player mode I can assure you it is quite the opposite as the sounds of everyone in my family very rapidly pressing buttons to set up matches was very audible and other than that people generally made no sounds as they were that intensely concentrating on trying to win. As I said the need for precision and seeing patterns so that you don’t trap yourself are both absolutely vital and it makes for compelling gaming sessions. If you really love great puzzle titles Tumblestone is a title you won’t want to miss!
Tumblestone is an enjoyable puzzle game which has a unique take on the Match-Three puzzle genre. There are a lot of unwritten rules and strategies to discover, along with plenty of content including a single-player mode, online and local multiplayer, and an Arcade mode.
An intelligent, thoughtful, lengthy and rewarding puzzle challenge.
Tumblestone is the corner stone of what an eighth generation Match 3 game should be, even with one or two glaring flaws. It’s central ideas feel so invigorating in a more and more mobile generation, and Tumblestone takes the outsider path, to devastating effect for it’s competition.
