A few technical hiccups and minor quibbles aside, Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 tops off a great year for comic book properties with a fun, varied adventure.
There are minor improvements here but the next gen versions of Lego Marvel still rely on charm and fan service more than technical finesse.
The open-world Marvel Universe game I always wanted, only blockier.
Still trying to get someone into the Marvel Universe? If they have an open mind and a PlayStation 4, Traveller's Tales Lego Marvel Superheroes is the perfect introduction. For families or individuals that love Marvel comics, movies, or cartoons, Lego Marvel Superheroes is the perfect pick-up for this holiday. And Vita Remote Play co-op is a great addition to a great game.
It really is the best Lego and best Marvel game that I've played—an excellent ride.
Fans of anything Marvel has created in the last 75+ years will come away from LEGO Marvel Super Heroes satisfied, as will those who regularly turn up for and enjoy TT Games' LEGO releases. The game by no means introduces any fundamental changes, but it's charming, well designed, and endless engaging all the same.
Super heroes assemble for the best entry in the LEGO series to date. TT Games are the best at what they do and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is fantastic fun with masses of replayability – nuff said
[I]f you're a fan of the LEGO series or Marvel Comics, you should probably pick this up. You may be surprised at how much fun it can really be.
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is arguably the most ambitious entry in Traveller's Tales' long-running series, and it's an extremely enjoyable one at that. The developer's delivered a title that will appeal to casual players and die-hard Marvel fans alike, which is a laudable achievement. Granted, the game doesn't do much to take advantage of the PS4's supercharged hardware – but when the core action's this fun, we're not even sure that the Hulk would be able to get angry about that.
The LEGO series sticks to its formula of accessible puzzles, gags and simple gameplay mechanics. While this coherence is overall positive, it's not improving where it should. Nonetheless, the overwhelming presence of the Marvel universe and the amount of unlockable content are well enough for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes to please the fans of both the comic and the game series alike.
