My biggest takeaway from Ninjago was how gorgeous the clips from the movie looked on the Switch's screen, even if they're unskippable. The Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game is, perhaps unsurprisingly, best enjoyed as a companion to The Lego Ninjago Movie and only by its biggest fans.

It's a LEGO game alright, and these small but meaningful changes make it one of the better titles in the collection. Even if the Ninjago franchise doesn't interest you as much as Batman or Marvel Superheroes might, the gameplay and signature LEGO humour makes The LEGO Ninjago Movie Videogame well worth jumping into.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Videogame stands out from other LEGO games, not for the huge game changes but for the little additions that are often unappreciated. I thoroughly enjoyed this title and I am looking forward to playing more.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game is a by the numbers release that feels like it may have been rushed to completion as a side project of Tt while it worked on the upcoming LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 (which can't come soon enough!) and is certainly a little smaller in comparison to its other recent games - with a small story and even the 100% completion clocking in at under 10 hours for most players. That being said, it's still well worth the price tag. The story is funny, the levels well designed and the extra features enough to keep players coming back to get to that 100% without getting burnt out. Best of all, it exhibits some improvements and innovations to the Tt formula that will hopefully be seen in future titles.

While LEGO Ninjago is certainly more aimed at a younger crowd, if you're a middle-aged gamer like myself who have enjoyed the vast majority of LEGO titles up to this point, then the added combat complexity and small tweaks to gameplay mechanics make this

A surprisingly enjoyable, yet ultimately flawed action-adventure romp.

The Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game is based on the recent Lego Ninjago movie currently in theaters, playing similar to Lego games of the past.

The Lego Ninjago Movie Videogame is a solid entry in the Lego series, providing a few new tweaks to the gameplay compartment that make the game feel fresh compared to other recent entries.

Everything what's good in LEGO games, but this time nothing's wasting our time. Definitely the most pleasant entry from Traveller's Tales.

The Lego Ninjago Movie Videogame is a fun platformer that expands on the established formula with an enjoyable combat system. Unfortunately, performance issues and lacklustre level design hold it back from greatness.

It's always a shame when a game has such an incredible foundation and never becomes what it should. Fans of LEGO games and of the movie will have fun regardless, because we're a bit crazy like that. But if you don't fall in the crazy category, best bet is to wait for the next LEGO game that will hopefully feature this same innovation. TT Games has plenty of good ideas here. Please don't let them die before they can be implemented in a truly great LEGO game.

It's by no means a great game, but The LEGO Ninjago Movie Videogame does more than enough to avoid accusations of being an egregious cash-in. The simple co-op platforming coupled with the invigorated combat system deliver a game that's a mindless bit of fun.

The Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game es a really entertainining game. It focuses more on action and combat than in puzzles and exploration and that gives it a special personality that makes it feel different from other LEGO Games. Sadly, it also shares the same formula that we have seen in practically all the other LEGO games from the last decade and so, the surprise factor is completely absent.

LEGO games are typically quite good. Movie franchise games are typically quite bad. The LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game is, both, but ultimately it feels more like a movie game than a LEGO game. Poor level design, long load times and bugs make for a game that doesn't realise its full potential; funny dialogue and entertaining movie clips can't elevate this one to greatness. If you're looking for a great LEGO game for your Switch, stick to Undercover for now.

A new video game adaptation of an animated movie with the most famous miniature construction games. The LEGO Ninjago Movie: The videogame takes up the strong points that have made the saga so great, reinforcing them with juicy novelties.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Videogame is by means going to be my pick of the season, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't keep my thumbs busy for a few days and a smile across my face. Filled with light-hearted comedy, the game is a breath of fresh air for those looking for lighter fare in their Fall lineup. And while the game certainly feels limited due to it being so tied to the underlying movie it is based on and technical issues, the game is a solid purchase for both children and children at heart.

There are certainly signs that this may have been rushed to coincide with a movie, but it's definitely not a cash-in. Serious thought and effort has gone into making sure this is an enjoyable experience. Providing the biggest shake-up to the LEGO game formula since the series begun, not only is this a genuinely engaging action game, it joins the ranks as one of the few great movie tie-in games.

So, can I recommend The Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game? For kids, if they have an interest in Ninjago and the developers can fix the crashes, yes. For everyone else? Please don't bother.
