Capping all of that off are some lovely visuals. While still feeling limited by the game's 3DS origins, Capcom has done a fantastic job of updating textures, and boosting the overall quality of environments for this re-release. When looking back at 3DS gameplay, you can see the stark difference.

Monster Hunter Stories 1+2 is a very welcome package for lovers of the franchise dedicated to Monster Hunter. Now more polished, adjusted and graphically cleaned, it makes its dirty impression especially on PC, where the sixty frames per second fill the screen and color it. Two video games that come at the hottest time for Capcom and the entire franchise

A simplified combat system, empty locations and a naive plot for the youngest ones can disappoint the fans of the series. However, less demanding players and beginners in the universe will be able to enjoy great cutscenes, a kind story, an exciting collection of monsters and non-stressing battles with beautiful special attacks.

Monster Hunter Stories is a good spin-off which fits in the Monster Hunter's universe. The game is quite different, but the player find his marks easily. Nevertheless the game is, first of all, intended for a young audience who wants to master the different aspects of the serie. However, you can have a good time waiting for Monster Hunter World.

Amazing art style, tedious battle system and a difficulty that's aimed at young children - not one for Monster Hunter fans, but maybe their kids. If they like Rock, Paper, Scissors, that is.

Monster Hunter Stories is a descent Pokémon knock off for fans of the genre, but it lacks good story telling and the mechanics is hard to get used to.

As someone who is terrible at the main series, I really enjoyed Monster Hunter Stories, even if it is a bit easy early on.  The more traditional RPG-style of gameplay is a radical departure from what the core games are like, but that doesn't mean it's not worth your time.  If you can put aside the fact that this plays rather differently than the past games, you'll find an enjoyable experience for new and returning fans alike.

Monster Hunter Stories may look and sound like a traditional Monster Hunter title, but underneath that veneer is a deep monster collecting game that surprises in its breadth, with cartoonish graphics and a kid-friendly story to boot.

Monster Hunter Stories is a refreshing take on the popular series that is a surprisingly fun romp. Certain aspects can feel repetitive and drawn out and the campaign can feel rushed and tropish at times. A fun monster-raising mechanic, however, combined with plenty of stuff to do, makes this a solid JRPG for folks of all ages. If you like a more RPG-ish take on Monster Hunter or enjoy games like Pokemon, this is one spin-off game that you’ll want to ride on.

Monster Hunter Stories is a delightful little JRPG that makes a big splash with its adorable visuals and addictive battle system. Performance problems aside, this is a great introduction to Capcom's beloved franchise.

Monster Hunter Stories embodies all the good things about the Monster Hunter saga and presents them in a monster RPG package. The game is very rich on content to explore and its amazing visual details and challenging combat system will keep the players entertained for many, many hours. Monster Hunter Stories may not be full of unexpected surprises but it is full of reasons to wander into it.

Monster Hunter Stories is a delightful game that surprised the hell out of me. It's pretty, it's fun, it's fresh, and a real departure from the original series but still retains elements to keep it familiar. If you like JRPG's or monster collecting games like Pokemon, Monster Hunter Stories is a must own. Just don't go into the game expecting a traditional style, and you will be surprised with how good it is.

An already amazing game gets a few upgrades, but most of all, it's a deserving second chance at life for a title that may have been overlooked previously.

I saw this experience as Monster Hunter meets Pokemon (which are two of my favorite series.) and if you consider yourself a fan of either of these, then you will probably find joy in giving this title a try no matter what age you are.
