The upsides to the game heavily outweigh the downsides though; not only is this Burnout at its best, but the sprawling open world of Paradise City gives so many different ways to race and routes to take that eventually you’ll be cruising the city knowing all the shortcuts like the back of your hand. The game misses certain features we’ve become accustomed to, like being able to place waypoints on maps, but other features it is missing would take away from the game – for instance, fast-travel to locations would add loading times that you really forget aren’t actually there once you’ve been playing for a bit.

Burnout Paradise Remastered dusts off the old game, but doesn’t stand out in any particular way – it simply is all right. If you own a console and don’t know this game, it’s a great opportunity to give it a shot – it’s still as great as it ever was. If you own a PC, you can just go back to The Ultimate Box.

Burnout Paradise Remastered is the benchmark for open world twitch racers. Visiting for the first — or 1000th time — is a delight from start to finish.

All in all, Burnout Paradise Remastered is an excellent re-release on both the PS4 and Xbox One. Despite being a game that was released ten years ago, this remaster modernizes the graphics and retains the excellent soundtrack and fast paced gameplay. If you love fun arcade style racing games, you must try and pick this game up now as it's a refreshing change compared to the more realistic racing games such as Forza and Gran Turismo.

It's been 10 years, and Burnout Paradise is as good as it was for the first time on PS3. If someone has missed arcade racing games, Burnout Paradise Remastered is the best choice.

Burnout Paradise is unarguably a stellar racing game and it paved the way for the likes of Forza to do what it has done with its Horizon franchise, so for that there'll always be a place in my heart for it. It's a tough sell for returning veterans as the visual buffs are minimal and the game itself is unchanged. Though if you were too young and didn't get to play Paradise, there's enough here, especially with all of the extra content on-disc, to justify the price of admission.

Burnout Paradise Remastered represents a more than welcome comeback for a series that's been away for far too long. Given a lustrous new coat of paint, Burnout Paradise still looks the business then, but now it's got us yearning for a whole new Burnout.

Despite a lacklustre remaster (I'm looking at you, textures), returning fans will feel right at home in Paradise City with Burnout Paradise Remastered. Though newcomers to the franchise may be a little disappointed at first because of its last-gen mentality, there's still a lot to enjoy with this neat little package.

There are much more capable racing games I’d recommend for the Switch, and unless you have some fond memories of the original game, I wouldn’t recommend this remaster until a steep discount happens.

Readers would be wise to stash this game on their eShop wishlist and hold off until its inevitable sale to avoid the shocking price tag, but make no mistake about it, this is a 60 FPS Burnout Paradise that is worth playing anywhere and everywhere.

A great remastering job to a game that is well worth a double dip.

Burnout Paradise Remastered is the same Burnout Paradise you know and love, brought back to life for modern consoles. A few outdated mechanics doesn't stop this from being one of the best arcade racers around.

Burnout Paradise Remastered is well worth the return trip, if only as a reminder of what a real arcade racing game feels like. Still, its open world design and the slew of experimental DLC additions overload the experience and prove that cruising the city is no substitute for a good Takedown.

Overall, Burnout Paradise Remastered on the Nintendo Switch is a very good game. It has everything that you need from an open world racer in terms of gameplay, and while some of the systems are dated, you’ll barely noticed them once you’ve experienced the driving.
