State of Decay 2 Reviews
Ultimately, State of Decay 2 has proven a disappointment. Undead Labs laid the groundwork with the original, but it's failed to build upon this to any noticeable degree. It's a much prettier, just as buggy, State of Decay 1.5. To some, just having more may be enough, but it would've been nice to see them push the boat out just a little bit more. Perhaps they should've done that MMO zombie survival game after all...
All said and done, State of Decay 2 is a great addition to the library of any Xbox One or Windows 10 PC gamer. It might sound derivative on paper, but multiple elements come together to make a game that's well worth your time.
State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition may be a repetitive game, but it boasts numerous improvements over its original release, even if it still has a bug or two.
State of Decay 2 is state of decay on steroids. Do you love one? You will worship two... But it also works the other way around. How do they say it? From fans to fans.

State of Decay 2 refines the formula of the original episode without overturning it: with good tricks and a couple of novelties not bad, among all the possibility to play in cooperative mode with other friends, the survival of Undead Labs confirms itself one of the best exponents for lovers of the horror genre, with a budget price that counters a technical sector that is certainly not exceptional.

State of Decay 2 is a game with the ability to become exciting the more we play, and that is its greatest quality. Also, by the way, one that many other titles with a greater presence and budget than Undead Labs lack. It is true that it collects, perhaps too much, ideas, mechanics and situations from the first game, but it mixes them again in an original way and very successful almost always.

Undead Labs has broken a wing out of two necessary to fly and this has caused the IP's downfall. State of Decay now is a game like Sea of Thieves and Recore, or to be exact another disappointing exclusive from Microsoft.

Despite these shortcomings, I could easily put another 100 hours into the game without issue, especially once I can team up with close friends. If you liked the original State of Decay, you'll enjoy the second one too, but temper your excitement somewhat if you expected a radical upgrade.
With hardly any other true zombie survival simulations on the market, Undead Labs present a competent horror game. It's rough around the edges, with many bugs and features that feel lacklustre, and a multiplayer that doesn't fully deliver on its promise, but it's still a fun ride with many other improvements over the original. For all of its faults, it's an adventure you can rely on if you were a fan of the first.
State of Decay 2 is a game riddled with bugs and poor design choices. It is one of the buggiest games I have ever played in my career.

State of Decay 2 refines and builds upon the formula of managing the survival of a group during a zombie apocalypse, with mostly well balanced difficulty and smooth co-op integration making up for plain visuals and some rough edges.
State of Decay 2 presents a detailed, diverse but in the same time an unpolished gameplay. If you want to manage a community and try to survive, give a chance to State of Decay 2.

State of Decay 2 is pretty much the same as the first game from five years ago, with some fixes and tweaks here and there. It is still an interesting blend of zombie survival action and social management simulator. But after five years we expected something more.

State of Decay 2 is another example of a game brimming with potential that ends up feeling bloated. It could have worked a lot better with a more polished experience but right now it appears to be all over the place with a focus on quantity rather than quality.
Zombie world of State of Decay returns bigger, enhanced, with cooperation and some bugs.

State of Decay 2 fulfills its premise without being too pretentious as an entry point to the misunderstood zombie survival genre. It is best enjoyed when you step out the safety of your comfort zone to face the horrors of the zombie apocalypse, at least until the experience becomes repetitive.

Ultimately, State of Decay 2 is a game that's fine to play on your own, but so much better with friends. If you plan to pick up this ghoul gutting game then make sure to bring a friend or two.
State of Decay 2 is imperfect, but it's still a very good time. The presentation may not be up to snuff and the AI can be a hindrance, but the overall experience is fulfilling enough that you'll overlook those shortcomings. There aren't many games that execute the community aspect so well or are as accessible to those who aren't deeply into survival titles. It's a good experience for newcomers but still satisfying for those who loved the first game.
State of Decay 2 is going to be very hit and miss for a number of people. If you can ignore the flaws, there is a fun game to be had when played with a friend. That said, even if you ignore its flaws, you can't deny that this game was not ready for release.
While State of Decay 2 may not be visually appealing, the thrill and excitement that the game provides shine the most. Even the fear of losing one of your best lieutenants in the community is there. You have to treat the game like it was the real thing – a real zombie apocalypse. It’s a unique zombie game experience you never get to come across frequently. In short, State of Decay 2 is your ultimate zombie simulator.
