Detroit’s ability to manipulate human emotion which causes it to become a truly memorable experience. The game will present you with a selection of imperfect options, and plenty of your choices will leave you questioning your personal ethics. Detroit: Become Human is intelligent sci-fi at its finest.

Is Detroit: Become Human, David Cage's last chance to prove himself. I honestly don't know the answer but I can say that Detroit lacks both the magnificent scale and the memorable narrative his previous games are well known for. Quantic Dream's latest title could have had a lot to say but it eventually gives up and leaves the scene. If you're a fan of Cage's previous games, give Detroit a shot, even though it will probably leave you very disappointed

Detroit is great step forward for interactive storytelling, with the impressive scope of its branching narrative and world ultimately overcoming the continued failings of David Cage's writing.

Detroit: Become Human is a jaw-dropping graphical masterpiece utterly let down by failing to include a dose of subtlety.

Detroit is simply unlike anything else available. For that reason alone it deserves to be played, but when allied with the chance to create your own story that will not be the same for many others and the stunning tech on show, what more do you need?

Detroit: Become Human is definitely the highest point reached by David Cage. Some slightly less strong sequences do not affect a gaming experience full of interesting points of view, in which one really has the sensation of making choices.

David Cage's games have a reputation for being ambitious failures, outsized vision let down by time, technology, or videogame conventions. Detroit: Become Human is more of the same - but by that very nature feels less ambitious than before, while simultaneously bringing Cage's failings as a writer even further into the spotlight. This is clunky, awkward, and only fleetingly interesting once you look past the shiny surface. Androids may be alive, but Detroit: Become Human certainly isn't.

For a game that relies so heavily on its narrative to carry it, Detroit: Become Human fails to excel.

Detroit: Become Human has an excellent narrative that makes us think that the decisions we make really affect the story - even if that may be just an impression. The technical aspects are impeccable. Detroit's biggest problems are the QTEs (it's time to change that system) and certain elements of the story.

A game with something to say, Detroit: Become Human merges the mediums of cinema and video game, with an outstanding result.

Detroit’s storytelling is lackluster and formulaic. The script has less emotion in it than androids before they become deviants and, in fact, I have to wonder whether an android wrote it. Perhaps it’s some in-joke on Cage’s part. As consumers and critics, we would never praise this level of storytelling in movies, TV shows, or books, yet for some reason, this nonsense is acclaimed just because there is a basic level of interactivity involved. If we want the quality of storytelling in games to improve, we need to demand more than this soulless and predictable nonsense.

Detroit: Become Human feels like the best Quantic Dream has ever put in all of their games. It is indeed an interactive movie, with quick time events as dialogue choices, but at every scene it makes us feel on the edge of our seat, hoping for the best of this cast of robotic characters and the world they live in.

Detroit Become Human touches on interesting and pertinent subjects that affect both our world and its. While it doesn’t present an overly compelling story, by the time the credits rolled it made me think about the decisions I made in a way I wasn’t expecting and in that regard, Quantic Dream achieved what it set out to do. A narrative-driven game with the ability to make players think about their decisions.

Detroit: Become Human manages to destroy a perfect story setup with a simple "right in the face" presentation of a complex theme despite a great acting performance of the main characters. The many optional outcomes during the playthrough lose lots of replay value because of that and make it probably the worst Quantic Dream game so far. There are still good visuals and enough entertainment for one playthrough but it doesn't deliver on anything else.

Detroit: Become Human is a movie you are directing. Each and every character's fate is in your hands, and along the way, you'll live and laugh and cry with them over and over again. Definitely the best title from Quantic Dream to date.

Detroit tells an impactful story about equality and the pace technology grows in society, while there are problems in terms of tone. Quantic Dream pushes the console to its max while providing a solid adventure for fans and newcomers!

Detroit Become Human is one of the great games of 2018. If you are still on the fence about it, then check out the free Demo with the first chapter. This way you can tell if it is your thing or not. After you have finished playing this game and maybe another shot, you'll be missing this world dearly. At this time there has been no word on if there will be any DLC planned for Detroit Become Human which is a shame. I know I for one would love to see Conner in action a bit more and it would include more barricaded suspects, people in crisis missions and other hostage situations. That would be a cool DLC. Nonetheless, Detroit Become Human ticks all the right boxes when it comes to one of the great games of 2018.
