The Thin Silence has a satisfying, creative approach to puzzle solving, alongside a sad story told in equally sad snippets. Though you can reset puzzles and try again as often as you need, you might sometimes still be left at a loss.

The Thin Silence felt tedious at first because I was lacking motivation to continue.

At about 5 hours long The Thin Silence isn't a huge time investment, but a big chunk of that time is the mechanical segments that only distracted from the more interesting and important story.

The Thin Silence is a charming narrative adventure filled with puzzles on the lines of Limbo and Inside. Tw PM was courage was courageous in dealing with issues such as depression and the socio-political issue, but the experience is sometimes a little repetitive and frustrating.

At its core this retro game is about our individual and collective difficulty with embracing different forms of forward thinking. It has the austerity and the warmth of a low-fi song about our not-so-charming inadequacies.

A basic platform-puzzle game which confuses as often as it frustrates.

At moments a beautiful depiction of the struggles of mental health, but a greater progression should have been felt throughout.

The Thin Silence hits all the right notes when it comes to the puzzling situations faced, with extremely smart ways of working through the various stages faced, continuously crafting new objects to aid with progress. Sadly, it does hold itself back too much with a painfully slow walking pace for the lead character, and some weighty prose that misses the mark, too often proving to actually be boring and/or confusing. A sequel more focused on the puzzle adventure element would be welcomed with open arms; just ditch the convoluted story-telling aspect, please.

The Thin Silence tries to be an inspirational and at the same time an entertaining game, and while it is almost successful at the later, due to being too symbolic and cliché, it fails in its main goal and has nothing new to provide.
