Despite some early concerns, Overcooked 2 is an undeniably brilliant co-op experience.

A tasty dish, Overcooked 2 adds extra spice to the first game's stupidly enjoyable co-op shenanigans, with online multiplayer finally in the mix and the ability to throw food around making for even more gastronomic madness. Food fiiiiight!

Instead of changing the recipe of success that the developers found with the original, Overcooked 2 is more of an extension of awesomeness.

Overcooked! 2 may not feel like a fully realized sequel, feeling mostly like more of the same with just a dash of new mechanics and online gameplay, but I suspect that's enough for most fans of the original game. I'm certainly not burnt out just yet.

Playing Overcooked 2, it's evident that Ghost Games understood what worked and what didn't in the original. New mechanics feel like an evolution of core gameplay rather than the likes of a DLC pack that adds a couple new chefs or kitchens. Even new recipes like different varieties of sushi feel fun and fresh, with different components that need to be left raw or cooked.

Overcooked 2's simplistic control scheme and basic premise means that anybody in your circle of friends can pick up and enjoy the fast-paced action the franchise has come to be known for. An improvement in every aspect, Overcooked 2's addition of ever changing kitchen experiences as well as online multiplayer options cements itself as one of the best multiplayer (especially co-op) experiences you can buy right now. Delicious.

These days, with all the focus on online multiplayer, it's not as easy to find a satisfying couch co-op game, especially one that can be enjoyable across several age groups. Playing such a good one reminds me of how much more spirited a game feels when you can feed off the other players' energy in person. Overcooked 2 should be cherished, even if it's exhausting and threatens to tear your family apart.

With the welcome additions of online multiplayer and a versus arcade mode, Overcooked 2 provides even more opportunities to riff off your very best profanities while brandishing a frying pan for dramatic effect — a superb party game for all ages and sensibilities.

While your levels of enjoyment playing solo are likely to be tepid, those looking for co-op multiplayer gaming excellence should look no further than this charming, addictive sequel.

Overcooked 2 has made a big progress. The kitchens are much more imaginative and dynamic, and the brand new ability to throw food makes the pace of the game faster and funnier. Besides, the online support makes it possible to play with your friends even when you are not sitting side by side.

The kitchen chaos of 'Overcooked 2' is a must do experience for any Nintendo Switch owner (and their friends). There are some nice upgrades from the original and the gameplay, varied kitchen design and change from level to level make it a truly fun and engaging experience. The difficulty is ever present, and there are some really rewarding experiences when you finally earn that 3rd star on some of the later levels. This game is best played on the couch with friends and it should be a part of everyones Nintendo Switch owners catalogue.

When we first started Overcooked! 2, we expected a two to a three-star game due to lack of advertisement and knowledge. Instead, we were treated to a full course meal with a few peculiar side dishes that left our pallets craving more.

Is Overcooked 2! worth the purchase? I would say it is, for sure. The story and writing may be a bit over-the-top and punny for my liking, but there are certainly people out there that will have some fun with it. So whether you're a cook for the ages or a master of the macaroni and cheese, Overcooked 2! is certainly worth picking up.

I was definitely looking forward to playing Overcooked! 2 on Nintendo Switch, and I'm happy to report that the game did not disappoint. The fast-paced action, the crazy kitchens that change as you go, the new recipes that have you dashing all over the place for the right ingredients, being able to throw said ingredients to maximize the short windows you have for completing each order, playing at home or on the go, and being able to take things online… it all comes together to give us one of the console's must-have party games.

Overcooked 2 is still one of the best local co-op experiences to make your friends hate you. The sequel plays it safe, though, with few overall improvements apart from an online mode and a throwing mechanic. Add to that the inconsistent difficulty, which ranges from ridiculously easy to punishingly tough, and you have a game that is familiar but doesn't push the envelope as much as you may have hoped for a sequel.
