The game is fun and frantic for the majority of the time, even though I did sometimes throw my controller across the room in rage when I got one shotted by those damn UFO’s. I wish there was better multiplayer even though I very rarely care for it, but I know many people do, plus having better online features will allow your friends to join the game instead of having them around to play, OMG so 90s.

Whether you are playing alone or with a friend, you’ll find a Mugsters to be a challenging and fun game. It looks fantastic and can be quite tricky at times but it has that ‘just one more go feel’ which will always have you coming back for more.

If you can get past the lack of music, and the simple design, Mugsters is a joyful little game. Taking the camera approach of older titles like Commandos and Cannon Fodder, and throwing in trial-and-error mechanics of its contemporaries such as Trials (no pun intended) and Hotline Miami, Mugsters holds its own in an ever-increasing puzzler genre.

A great little game, full of cartoonish violence and great physic-based puzzles.

Mugsters is a game for people who enjoy puzzle games without much flair or fanfare about them. The emphasis is clearly on the puzzles themselves and, despite a few stumbles, Mugsters proves to be an entertaining game that's easy to come back to and somewhat difficult to put down; and with a decent amount of levels, with multiple objectives in each, you'll be spending quite some time getting lost.

Mugsters doesn't look like much at first sight until you discover it's one hilarious physics-based puzzle game that will get you hooked, especially when playing with a friend. For the price, you shouldn't miss this game from Team 17 and Reinkout Games.

Mugsters may not hit all the notes of a fast frenetic party game, and it may not have the deepest story to suck you in and keep you playing for months and months. However, the endless variety and sense of curiosity we felt playing, exploring, and blowing stuff up was enough to keep us very, very busy. This is a game with no definite end in sight, and absolutely no boredom to be had.

Overall, I found Mugsters to be a fresh breath of fun, both solo and in co-op mode. Certainly adding another person to the mix amps up the fun, but it also opens the door to more complications as control in these sorts of games is always a bit relative. If you’re patient, take in the challenges before you, and are willing to experiment to find the best way to deal with your problems it can be a rewardingly silly experience.

At £9.99 it's a perfect price-point and well recommended to waste a little idle time.

Mugsters is a simple, yet well-designed puzzler. The physics-based environments create some chaotic, but hilarious moments as you work to save humankind. Even though it is simple, the mechanics and execution are well done and Mugsters controls very well. It's the type of game that is hard to put down.

Despite clear identity issues, Mugsters is an enjoyable puzzle game that lets the player take the reins to complete each level how they like. Its distinct visual style and adept sound design also deserve recognition, despite jarring with the gameplay.

Mugsters is a decent action puzzle game that will no doubt prove to be satisfying to a certain kind of audience. Goofy, physics-based puzzles, fun multiplayer, and a solid amount of content are definite positives, though these are hamstrung by the poor camera and grindy repetition of the gameplay. We'd give this one a light recommendation, as there's plenty of enjoyment to be found, but this is by no means a must-play.

Small games from smaller studious continue to amaze me with their effortless charm and unbound creativity, and Mugsters is easily one of those games.

Mugsters is an impressive outing from this single developer, but the game is also is hampered by the same thing it is praised for. This is an enjoyable game, but it depends on the person playing it. Whether you choose to play solo or coop, you’ll have unfettered fun completing the game’s puzzles. While Mugsters has this “top-down Grand Theft Auto” style, you’re not able to execute the frenetic chaos that the game suggests. It instead is a game that invites you to turn your brain off, and do everything your way.

Mugsters takes some time to get going, but once it does, it is a gameplay experience that is immensely fun and rewarding. There may be some faults with the presentation, but overall, it was an enjoyable experience.

Reinkout Games have created a pretty fun and unique experience with Mugsters. The concept and objectives are simple, yet challenging at times as you'll have to test out every way you can to get to your objectives. It's one of those games that you start playing without any expectations, but end up spending hours on it because it's incredibly fun and addictive. I'm happy that Team17 helped to publish this game on PS4 since it's a blast!

Mugsters may seem like a very unorthodox mix at first but the truth is, this puzzler set in an open world with elements of platformer and which uses vehicles works better than any of its descriptions would make it seem. While the game has some fluidity problems and there could be more attention to detail on some elements, it has some interesting features and an original level design which will make players satisfied during short gaming sessions.
