Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 brings back the nostalgia by giving you all eight Mega Man X games. As far as that aspect is concerned, the collection hits things on all cylinders and brings to you a great gaming experience. The abysmal attempt at extra content really makes this an average collection rather than something special. If you're going to buy this, it should be for the eight X games and not for the extra content even though the extra content is good enough to play through once.

So, whether or not you should buy Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 really depends on how much of a Mega Man fan you are.

The first Mega Man X Collection is a nice set of titles that comes with some pretty nice extras. All four games are too similar to one another to stand out, but the platforming is strong enough that it can provide a fun challenge for platformer enthusiasts.

MMXLC Vol.1 & 2 were most certainly fun to play and I'm glad that I got to review them as they introduced me to the series, but the collection has some inherent problems, not to mention that the asking price is simply way too high for what you get.

All in all, Mega Man X Legacy Collection and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 packs in a wealth of content, though not all of it holds up as well as we would've liked.

The X Collection disappoints on that front, but it's still Mega Man X at heart. It's undeniably entertaining to explore every level, backtrack for new upgrades, and go toe-to-toe with themed bosses. I miss the save functionality and don't see the point of having two separate games, but the Mega Man X Legacy Collections are fully worth a play.

This first Mega Man X compilation might seem a little short on contents, but the pleasure to play through Mega Max X1 to 4 might be enough for most gamers of the 90's. With a wide museum gallery and some interesting bonuses, this collection just fail to deliver new strong modes, even though the newcomers will be more than pleased by the Rookie one.

In spite of some imperfect emulation, Mega Man X Legacy Collection reminds players why they fell in love with the series.

Aside from the X Challenge mode not adding much to it, the extra contents and the games themselves makes Mega Man X Legacy Collection a valuable option for the fans of the franchise and anyone new to it.

There really isn't much to say about the MMX Legacy Collection. Given my fondness for the series, I'm always happy to have more people discover the pure platforming bliss that most of the series offers and while there certainly is value in keeping things faithful to the original, I would have much preferred a collection of true remasters as it would have gone a long way to justify the asking price.

If you are a fan of the Mega Man X series, then this new collection is a great way to own all your favorite games on one console. The X Challenge is a neat little extra, but is probably not worth a purchase for anyone who isn't coming for the main games themselves.

The majority of Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 is excellent as the earlier games in the series are still fun to play even 20 years later. Sure you need to be an expert at 2D shooters to get the most fun out of them, but the Rookie Hunter mode does make things slightly easier for noobs. Just try and ignore Mega Man X6 and Mega Man X7 because they’re by far the weakest additions to the Mega Man X franchise.

An excellent collection held back with a number of flaws in the collection itself. Come and play the games though, but it’s not going to be a perfect experience. Sadly.

The Mega Man X series has always held a fond place in my heart. To be able to play all eight anytime, anywhere on Nintendo Switch is a dream come true.

Its simple yet stylish art and popping soundtrack still work so well. This is definitely a collection worth owning.

First half of Mega Man X Legacy Collection is much, much better than the second one, so if you'll buy only it, you won't miss out on anything good.

As sparse as the extra options are as well as the inclusion of a couple of legitimately awful titles, both of the Mega Man X Legacy Collections pay adequate tribute to one of the premiere 2D action franchises of all-time, which itself spun off a legendary franchise.

In many ways this is Mega Man at its finest, and outside of the fact that most of the eight games play the same, this Legacy Collection is a fine reminder of why the X series is held in such high regard.

Mega Man X Legacy Collection brings to the Nintendo Switch a very welcome compilation of four classics of 2D platformers from the 16-bit generation in an effort that adds new gaming modes and customization options to those recent and old school fans. While this collection is magnificent on its own, it could have been even better if it had included more games of the Mega Man X series, rather than just the first four.
