Overall, SNK Heroines is a fairly solid fighter, so if you can look past a lackluster story mode (as is the case with many fighters, though some have had exceptional stories) and/or are drawn to heavy fanservice, you will likely enjoy this title quite a bit, thanks, in no small part, to the accessible gameplay and depth of customization.

I’d say play SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy if you’re a die hard SNK fan, or you fancy something new for your pugilist palette, or just in the market for a random weekend game to play with friends. Just don’t expect anything revolutionary. Or tell your mother what you’ve spent your money on.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is a party game filled with fanservice and it has made peace with that. While there isn't much that's noteworthy about the game's presentation, its approach to accessibility is interesting and worth experiencing. It has managed to create its own unique experience that is worth exploring, even if it's not for everyone.

Overall, SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is a decently fun, if a little basic fighter. By no means will it shock the fighting game world - or contain the depth needed for highly competitive play - but it’s good fun nevertheless, that appeals to newcomers with its simplified battle system. Existing fans of the SNK characters I’m sure will enjoy the team up combinations, but may be disappointed with the lack of customisation options on offer to keep them playing.

An easy to learn fighting game that lacks content.

The lack of a functional story mode and some technical issues with the frame rate bring down an otherwise serviceable fighting game. This is not providing a substitute to King of Fighters, but it is an average fighter for those who are seeking something casual with plenty of fan service moments.

While SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy has the potential to be a fun hunk of cheese and fanservice, ultimately it relies too much on the game's premise to carry things.

While playing through SNK Heroines I had a difficult time figuring out its true target audience. The combat system isn't complex, or interesting, enough to attract hardcore fighter fans while the steep price and lackluster visuals make it difficult to recommend for fan service alone. Unfortunately, it seems like SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy falls into an awkward middle zone and doesn't excel where it needs to.

SNK Heroines -Tag Team Frenzy- is a fun game to waste some time with, however, the lack of optimization on the Switch port might turn off some players. It's a silly game, there's a lot of fun to be had, but the unsteady frame rate when in handheld mode coupled with the fact that the game CAN reach 60fps docked, but just doesn't is extremely disappointing.

SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy isn't a bad game; it just isn't noteworthy. Characters retain their most of their iconic moves and costumes, though none of the depth. The average match can end in seconds and is little more than pushing the same button, maybe tossing in a special attack and then waiting for the right time to use an item or special. It will be fun at first and make for an okay party game, it just doesn't have enough of anything to make it stand out in the long term.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy may not be the most ambitious fighting game ever created but that doesn't stand on its way of being a fun and accessible title that will appeal to fans of SNK fighting games and which features heavy doses of humour. The gameplay is overly simplistic and often the game feels superficial, which is somehow balanced by the enjoyable moments spent at following the characters' interactions with each other and dialogues.

While I can't say SNK Heroines is a bad game, I cannot recommend it to you unless you love its aesthetics and fanservice. Because, what is the point of recommending a gameplay-wise average fighting game at this time? 2018 has already treated us to EVO's new favorite Dragon Ball Fighterz, Blazblue CTB, Fighting EX Layer, Street Fighter V Arcade Edition, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. This year was fantastic for fighting games, and it hasn't finished yet (Soul Calibur VI and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are still coming!). There isn't any strong reason why you should pick SNK Heroines before any of these other high-quality games. But you will have some "sexy" fun if you do, and I know this can be a dream game for a lot of players.

While SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is accessible to anyone who may want to play it, its limited roster and bogus 3D models don't do the heroines justice.

SNK Heroines is the japanese company's bet starring its famous girls with an all new battle system that will satisfy all of its players and that also focuses on the customization of the characters. This is, indeed, a fan service type of game.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy has some really great franchises to draw from (I have been playing various SNK fighting games for years, and immediately felt familiarity with the cast of characters), and it has arguably the most accessible fighting mechanics of any game to date, but the fanservice and modes really only go so far. SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy has a nice, fast combat system in place that makes local play with friends zany and entertaining, but the modes themselves and modest number of characters probably are not meaty enough to encourage me to spend a ton of the time with the title either. I've gone through and beaten the story mode several times just so I can see the various interactions and endings, but outside of trying to unlock a few more items, I am not sure the hook here is going to be enough to keep me coming back on a regular basis unless I have a few people over looking to play a quick, accessible fighting game.

Unapologetically simplistic and fanservice embracing, SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy plants itself firmly in the more casual corner of fighting games. Those who enjoy button mashing with friends, and find more technical fighters like BlazBlue or Tekken frustrating, may find this more comfortable.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is a mixed bag – some fun twists make this a great fighting game for quick bouts, particularly for novice fighters. Unfortunately, the lack of depth makes it a short-lived experience. And the less said about the girls' appearances, the better.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is a light fare for fighting games, but there is more than enough smart systems to keep fighting game aficionados interested. Even better, the game is a cute entry point for people new to the genre. So long as you aren't expecting a deep combat system or extensive PvP functions, you won't be let down. Either way, the fabulous SNK heroine cast will likely impress–one way or another.
