While SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is accessible to anyone who may want to play it, its limited roster and bogus 3D models don't do the heroines justice.

SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy isn't a bad game; it just isn't noteworthy. Characters retain their most of their iconic moves and costumes, though none of the depth. The average match can end in seconds and is little more than pushing the same button, maybe tossing in a special attack and then waiting for the right time to use an item or special. It will be fun at first and make for an okay party game, it just doesn't have enough of anything to make it stand out in the long term.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy might rightly draw ire for its overt, unnecessary sexualisation of fighting games' femme fatales, but its problems extend further than social problems. It's anaemic in content and the fighting itself lacks any real depth.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is a female-only beat 'em up, but the results doens't works really well; special moves are too easy to execute, but SNK Playmore did the right thing by allowing 2 player tag battles.

Though SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is not the Gals Fighters 2 we may have been hoping for, it is a very daft, very fast, and fun brawler. There is a serious question of longevity to be considered, and veteran players should consider the game's simplicity before purchase. But in a group setting, or among newcomers, sisterhood of sluggers will get the job done, looking fabulous while doing so.

There are flashier and more intricate fighting games out there, but SNK Heroines is different - and certainly in a good way. Customisation of the characters is played up, but unlikely to really be truly appealing outside of a few cosmetic items to adorn them with now and again. A few more modes could have really helped bump up the value, but the unique take on tag team combat should ensure this title carves out its own little niche. Tense and tactful matches are what fighting games are all about, and that is most definitely here. It is clear the developers had fun creating this game, so give this one a chance. You'll most likely have fun, too.

SNK HEROINES: Tag Team Frenzy's quirky design choices ultimately take away from the game. It simply does not have the depth that put The King of Fighters on the map, and the reliance on Dream Finishers and items makes for an experience that feels disjointed and random.

We both had fun with SNK HEROINES ~Tag Team Frenzy~ and its simplified set up for special moves, and we did also like how the health bar and the special moves bar are directly related, affecting how much energy you have for special moves as you receive more damage. But we both feel that the costumes for the all-female cast and how they're presented is a bit too heavy on the fan service. But if that's something that doesn't bother you and you want to try a fighting game that does a handful of things differently to stand out in its genre, then you can certainly check this one out!

In a year filled with blockbuster fighting game titles, SNK Heroines just doesn't do enough to appeal to the fighting game market. It's a shallow game filled to the brim with fanservice, but there are deeper games with just as much fanservice out there.

So, all things considered, what do I think of SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy? Quite honestly, SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is about as enjoyable as the sticky, faded, musky magazines (Possibly) under your bed. It smells off, controls a bit weird, and probably should have been thrown out a while ago; there may be some sort of value in keeping it for sentimental reason, but in the end of the day, it’s just another ‘sexy’ fighting game for fans to gush over, even if, at it’s core, it’s nothing more than a subpar offering of cobbled together content.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy takes the spirit of Neo Geo Pocket’s Gal Fighter and spices it up into something very different on the current market. While it’s not clear at the moment on what corner of the market it is actually aiming for, there’s still a good chance that this game will conjure up its own following.

Overall, SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy is one of the simplest pick-up and play fighting games I’ve played in years. The gameplay is very smooth with it’s nice and easy gameplay that’s quick to get used to. The girls all look great and being able to customise them adds variety to your team without being just a colour palette swap. Best yet, you don’t need to pay real money (DLC) in order to swap colours and styles around, like you would in other games out there these days.

If you're new to fighting games - or you're simply in the market for something that feels like a bona fide arcade fighting experience - there are few titles as easy to pick up as SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy. Its busty and over-sexualised characters might not be to everyone's taste in 2018 - and the use of Dream Finishers definitely won't be of appeal to purists - but look beyond the garish colours and there's a tag-team brawler with real potential, not to mention plenty of hilarity.

SNK Heroines is the japanese company's bet starring its famous girls with an all new battle system that will satisfy all of its players and that also focuses on the customization of the characters. This is, indeed, a fan service type of game.

Unapologetically simplistic and fanservice embracing, SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy plants itself firmly in the more casual corner of fighting games. Those who enjoy button mashing with friends, and find more technical fighters like BlazBlue or Tekken frustrating, may find this more comfortable.

The choices made by SNK to really focus on the visuals of the females and the customization options ultimately ended up hurting the overall game itself. SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is fun for a short amount of time, but once the story mode is complete for all the characters, there really isn’t much left except to keep jumping into online lobbies.

SNK Heroines it's not even close to be a great game. Almost every part of the game could be better, beginning with its combat system and ending with its lack of game modes.
