Lego DC Super-Villains doesn't shake things up that much, but it doesn't break anything either. Ultimately, above-average level design and a dizzying amount of DC content mostly make up for the game's bland action and lack of polish. Lego DC Super-Villains might not have the chops to take over the world, but it may conquer a surprising amount of your family's free time.

Packed with jokes and DC fan service but the Lego formula is long overdue a complete revamp, because it's starting to ruin concepts like this that are otherwise ripe with potential.

LEGO DC Super-Villains might not deviate much from the already successful formula but adds enough content to justify the price tag. Characters are plentiful and allow for tons of replayability in the end. I look forward to the series future, despite this game feel too similar. .inpostad { width: 300px; height: 250px; } Story continues below (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

There is a lack of fresh gameplay elements in LEGO DC Super-Villains, but the story is genuinely funny and has its moments. The highlight is easily the character creator, which offers the players plenty of options to customize a new supervillain.

LEGO DC Super-Villains is a charmingly funny game that combines the joy of LEGO with the creative coolness of the DC roster. The game isn't hard by any means, but it's a great casual romp through an interesting story. The massive roster is impressive and the detail put into each character makes each one of them worth putting time into.

Despite an impressive roster and some top-notch actors to voice them, Lego DC Super-Villains is a tedious game that fails to capitalize on its best qualities.

After the rather lacklustre LEGO The Incredibles recently, Tt is back on top form with LEGO DC Super-Villains. This is a real joy for fans of DC Comics, absolutely stuffed with Easter Eggs and inside jokes that cater to every type of DC fan. From the DC films, the Arrowverse TV shows, to the classics, the cartoon series, and, of course, most of all, the comics. Along with containing some really great designed stages and areas, it also has the best story and cast in any LEGO title to date. It's this high quality across the board that will make this more than "just another LEGO game."

If you've been a fan of the LEGO DC titles in the past, then chances are you've already bought the game and aren't reading this at all. If you've never gotten into the LEGO genre before, then LEGO DC Super-Villains isn't a bad dropping-in point. The collectibles are easier to amass, the puzzles have some challenge, and the character creation is enjoyable. If nothing else, you get to hear Mark Hamill's sillier version of the Joker. That alone makes the price of admission worth it.

LEGO DC Super-Villains is definitely one of the best in the series, with many improvements that not only build on the strengths of the previous titles but also fixes some of the issues they faced. The massive change to player-created characters and the star-studded voice cast makes the game significantly more enjoyable and offers much more replayability than previous titles. LEGO DC Super-Villains may very well end up becoming the benchmark for future games in the franchise.

You’ll mash buttons to fight and destroy things, build overly-designed objects and generally just have a laugh. It’s hilarious, entertaining and off-the-walls mental, just like its case. It’s a refinement of what came before, but damn is it entertaining.

Honestly, I find writing about these games increasingly exhausting, and playing them just as fun as ever.

Not revolutionary by any means, Lego DC Super Villains maintains and very slightly adds to the successful formula of the Lego games for some simple fun.

Familiarity and irritating mechanics aside, this is another LEGO game that can still be enjoyed by many. It just may be time for TT Games to spread their wings a little further with their next bricktastic adventure.

The big picture looks great from a distance, but those flaws become very apparent when you look closer. Still, if you're looking for something easy to pick up, play and have a good time with, you could do a lot worse than Lego DC Super-Villains.

LEGO DC Super-Villains is an interesting bet that can potentially transform itself into a new series within the LEGO universe. Although some negative elements are evident, Traveler's Tales game manages to balance the experience with enjoyable mechanics and sometimes great ideas and elevated quality.

LEGO DC Supervillains remains faithful to its roots despite some new additions that don't get to change its mechanics. A game that will make you uncover every character giving you hours of fun in the way to it.

Lego DC Super-Villains does little with the DC canon, its story never reaching beyond, "these baddies aren't so bad after all."

With its gleefully mischievous cast and a few new mechanical tricks, Lego DC Super-Villains is a refreshing twist on the trusted Lego game formula. It's a shame that long-running glitches that have plagued the series for years still rear their ugly head, but subtle improvements across the board make them tolerable, in large part because there's so much else to like. A love letter to fans of the comics and the earlier Lego DC games alike, this makes it clear it's good to be bad.
