Resident Evil 2 Reviews
Resident Evil 2 Remake does more than make a great game look prettier for the modern crowd. The changes make the game a brand-new experience for those who have played the original, but the title keeps a sense of familiarity that prevents it from being totally unfamiliar.
It’s a love letter to survival horror, delivered direct like a bullet to the head.
Modern additions to the classic Resident Evil formula have made Resident Evil 2 an excellent remake although I am a little disappointed with how the 2nd Run campaigns are handled.
Resident Evil 2 is a fantastic get for Game Pass, and the new port on the Microsoft Store is excellent. It’s Play Anywhere, terrifying, and well worth checking out for anyone looking to clap some zombie cheeks.
Resident Evil 2 is a fantastic survival horror experience that has a brilliant world and puzzle design and even found new ways to scare me. There is a lot to experience in the game and will be fun to replay for years to come. This is how all video game remakes should be treated. It stays true to what made the original so great but wasn’t afraid to change aspects of the game to keep things fresh for veteran players and bring the game into the modern age and a real contender for one of the best games this year.
Resident Evil 2 offers a genuinely amazing survival horror experience that does its best to stay true to the original while modernizing it in the best ways possible.
Resident Evil 2 is the best nostalgia operation and the most apt relaunch of a franchise that was starting to stagnate before the experimental seventh chapter. Showing that it has understood its duality, made of the echo that speaks to the players of the 90s and of the more modern one with an action soul, Capcom gives new life to Raccoon City.

Resident evil is an icon in the gaming horror genre, with its remake doing so much to bring it back into the spotlight. This review however is for the 2nd and 3rd installments. I am going to be honest here, I never played RE1 to completion. I didn't play the remake either, I started with RE2 and man was I impressed. I wasn't into the horror survival games like most, but I always respected it. So how well do the remakes stack up, lets break it down.
Resident Evil 2 blends amazing graphics, great sound design and intimidating enemies to create a nerve wrecking horror experience. Capcom didn't forget the series' roots while modernizing as well: the hallmark of a great remake.

Resident Evil 2 fills the gap of single-player games, not very long, but incredibly addictive, relatively linear and devoid of all the ills of the current gaming industry. It is a perfectly polished remake, which is a model for other producers, how old classics should be restored, but it is also an excellent game, able to compete as a separate being with the largest titles.

Capcom has proven themselves to be extremely capable of not only capturing what made the original game so incredible – but how to add little touches to improve it. Resident Evil 2 is not a simple remake, it’s a love letter to the franchise and the fans who have stood by the series through thick and thin. Do not miss this.
An amazing remake that shows how games should be updated for the modern era. However the second playthrough feels lackluster and leaves the player on a sour note.
This version of Resident Evil 2 has far exceeded all my expectations. At the end of my 16 hour campaign with both Leon and Claire, I felt like I had just seen an old friend for the first time in years. A friend who has experienced many changes, but is still the same old person you knew years ago. What the 2002 remake of the first Resident Evil did for the original is multiplied tenfold in this remake. The remake of the original Resident Evil took huge leaps forward within one generation and took creative liberties by adding mechanics and story portions that enhanced the game. But in the end, it was still fundamentally the same game. This remake is still essentially the same game, but wholly different at the same time. In fact, it complements the original and you can put the two side by side and appreciate what each iteration does for the series. This game takes bold steps in recreating the story beats while keeping things fresh. Capcom ensured the story wouldn’t stray too far from the original, and while I knew what was going to happen to certain characters and events, the moments that lead up to one another created so many twists and turns that made me gasp and stare wide eyed at my screen. The gameplay meshes the old school along with the familiar third person shooting mechanics making traversing as smooth as butter and blasting away at enemies just as satisfying. So please, do yourself a favor and start off 2019 with a bang.
Capcom seems to know exactly what is going on regarding Resident Evil, but they are probably still afraid of their history to some extent.

Resident Evil 2 is one of the best horror games I’ve ever played.
Capcom is back on track after the good vibes with Resident Evil 7. Technically excellent and playable very well except for some tweaks that could improve the gaming experience. I hope that on our next stop in Raccoon City we can help a former STARS member escape the city while being harassed by another big guy. But that's another story...

Resident Evil 2 will be the point of reference for the remakes in the years to come. Not only that, it will be one of the models to follow for the horror of the future, because this is not a simple makeover, it is a completely new game that improves the experience of the original work throughout. Finding weak points is really difficult: a story told to the great thanks to both aesthetic and content improvements, breathtaking graphics and gameplay that is the sum of classic horror combined with modernity that was asked for a remake.

After a years of hit-and-miss with this popular franchise, RE7 and RE2 Remake are a reminder of the greatness behind Capcom. With some drastic mechanic changes RE2 is not only a brilliant game but with Shadow of the Colossus is one of the greatest remakes of all time.

Resident Evil 2 is equal parts terrifying, satisfying and interesting.
