Persona Dancing: Endless Night Collection Reviews
Atlus has proven that Persona 4 DAN was not a one off, and while SEGA and Atlus seem to have lost the Hatsune Miku license recently, it is clearly not because the company has lost the ability to produce a sublime example of the rhythm game genre.
When examined individually, the titles that make up Persona Dancing: Endless Night Collection are a little uneven in terms of depth – the narrative is traded off for visuals and some tracks are more suited to remixing than others. Taken as a whole, however, this is a great package for fans of Persona 4: Dancing All Night who are keen to catch up with the cast of Persona 3 and 5. It's also a great gateway into the rhythm genre for Persona fans who might have skipped P4D and would like to see what all the fuss is about.
Persona 3: Dancing in Starlight and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight were the sequels we weren’t expecting, but are a great follow-up to the initial outing.
While I still don't know that the world needs dancing games based off of the Persona series, it's obvious that Atlus could do way worse than Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight. Both games show clear effort in terms of visuals and animations, and if there's any RPG franchise with soundtracks you'd want to groove to, it's Persona.
Neither Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight nor Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight improve the formula of Persona 4: Dancing All Night, which does not impede us from going to have some good dances with their catchy songs and choreographies.

Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight are not bad games, and there's just enough here to make them an alluring proposition for many fans. However, that Atlus only does the bare minimum with a pitch as compelling as “Persona rhythm game” continues to be a source of eternal disappointment.
If you are into stylish rhythm games with beautiful colours and characters, even as a non-Persona fan I think it is worth trying out. But if you are a Persona fan and you know you love the songs and characters, you should definitely give Persona Dancing a chance to steal your heart.
While I ditched Persona 4: Dancing All Night immediately after reviewing it, I can definitely see Moonlight and Starlight remaining part of my normal rhythm game rotation.
All said, both Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight and Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight are fine additions to any library, most especially those who enjoy rhythm games and the more hardcore fans of the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series.
For a not exactly popular price, Persona Dancing: Endless Night Collection offers a significant level of entertainment for lovers of the genre and the ATLUS saga. Although the gameplay is a bit simplistic, the choreographic aspect always remain at a high level. Vivisecting the package you can see some naivety too, but overall - and focused on target audience - is a well-packaged collection.

The Persona Dancing: Endless Night Collection tops off an already impressive 2018 for rhythm gaming. Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight both dance to their own beat, making them a unique experience that should satisfy fans of the Persona series and rhythm game players alike.
If you're aching to go dancing with your favorite Persona characters, Persona 4: Dancing All Night remains the best choice for now. If you want to listen to Persona 3 or Persona 5 songs instead, opt to borrow these games if possible instead of investing in them for now.
So should you bother with Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight? Well, if you've played Persona 3 and Persona 5 and are aching for more Persona outside of the anime and Nintendo 3DS spin-offs, they're worth the purchase for the music selection alone.
Both games suffer from the same issues of small track-lists and bizarre character-locking, but if you're a fan of Persona, you'll still end up having a hell of a lot of fun.
It's actually really hard to pick between the two which might be a better game, but for me, that Last Surprise remix in Dancing in Starlight really steals the show.
Persona Dancing: Endless Night Collection offers a solid dose of Persona that fans off the series are sure to love, but the content is a bit thin and the rhythm game is mediocre at best.
You can get each game separately for $59.99 on PlayStation 4, or you can go for the Persona Dancing: Endless Night Collection, which is what I got from Atlus for this review, and it's a bundle that is only available for PlayStation 4. For $99.99 you'll get both games, which instantly saves you $19.99, and on top of that you'll also get an exclusive collector's box featuring character art by Shigenori Soejima, codes to download the Shinjiro Aragaki and Goro Akechi playable dancer add-ons for Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight (in the Day 1 edition), as well as a most excellent bonus: a download code for Persona 4: Dancing All Night for the PS4! The game was originally released on the PS Vita, but the collection brings us a port for the PS4. You can read my review for that game right here.
The [Persona 3] gameplay is still solid, and while the track list is a slight downgrade, it's still decent enough, and enjoyable. At its core, Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight is a solid music/rhythm game, with a mostly good track list, that is very fun to play; that has to factor in.
Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight/Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight serves up a heaping portion of fan service, enjoyable tunes and provides a nice amount of entertainment. Both titles appeal to fans of the Persona series, thanks to fan favorites busting a move on the dance floor. Fun, simple and a game that doesn't take its self too serious. Perfect for gamers who just want to relax and dance the night away, virtually that is.
