Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince, in addition to causing us an unexpected surprise when it was announced, has returned coming back to the right path that perhaps should not have left in the third part. Evolving all the good things about Trine 2, but borrowing the qualitative improvement from the audiovisual section of Trine 3, we find a beautiful game, with a very well-designed gameplay that will delight anyone who comes close to it.

The Trine series, born back in 2009 from the Frozenbyte production company, has captured the attention of the public with its puzzle version of the Platform. But this is not the only peculiarity of this video game: what has struck most is in fact the possibility of using different characters with their specific skills. Who has never played the previous chapters does not have to worry, the chapters almost always start from a new adventure.

If you are looking for a magical co-op puzzlegame, then this is the game for you. This is the most beautiful and the longest entry in the series yet. There are new skills and lots of puzzels to enjoy. Whilst the battles are not so impressive, this is still a game you must have played!

Trine 4 is a return to its origins. Contains a solid, fun and puzzle-packed campaign. The four player multiplayer is great. The downside comes from the bad combat mechanics and some bugs that may occur, mostly online.

The puzzles and banter are as good as they've ever been, though Trine 4 has a hard time overcoming some dodgy combat mechanics.

Trine 4 takes the series back to its roots, even though it doesn't offer a lot of new things over its old entries, but it's still one of the best 2.5D puzzling games out there.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince is a welcome return for the franchise. It's arguably the best entry to date thanks to creative level design, gorgeous landscapes and excellent multiplayer. It may not be a new take on the formula like some expected, but considering the last time Frozenbyte tried that, perhaps this is for the best.
