Psychonauts 2 Reviews
All in all, we are very much at peace with Psychonauts 2. The story is intriguing, the humor is excellent and the charm splashes off. The gameplay isn't always top quality, but it's fun and it works when it has to. If you're not afraid of miles of collectibles, or if you were already sold by the original, then Psychonauts 2 is a game for you. It's also a good ending to its predecessor without scaring off new players.

If you are looking for a fresh and pleasant experience to go through without taking the cabbage, Psychonauts 2 is the ideal candidate. Artistically inspired, rather beautiful, funny and generous whether in terms of content, or gameplay mechanics, you never get bored. Inventive and creative, Double Fine has cared for its foal in every detail, from writing to environments to collectibles, must do it.

Psychonauts 2 is a masterpiece, and it is everything I ever hoped it would be.
The sequel, by definition, cannot pack the same shock, but it arrives bearing new gifts.
Fantastic trips through colorful minds and a robust narrative help to make Psychonauts 2 an enjoyable adventure and a faithful sequel.
After traversing nearly a dozen brains, I, along with Raz, couldn’t help but feel empathy for people along all walks of life. The moral of the story, delivered rather obviously by Raz’s supervisor Hollis Forsythe, is that institutions are flawed, people are flawed, but we are all just trying our best.
There is something cathartic, or perhaps simply pleasantly escapist, in the idea that I can resolve the mess in my head with the sweep of a hand. Even if Psychonauts 2 looks like a psychedelic fever dream, after 18 months of being intermittently locked indoors, festering in bad thoughts, accumulating emotional baggage, and losing track of any nuggets of wisdom I might have had, it is also a power fantasy that feels especially relevant.
Both M/KB and controller are fully rebindable, so yay. In order to rebind controller bindings, you’ll need to select custom, though. If they’re on default, you can’t change anything. That’s about it for our Psychonauts 2 tech review. A great version for a great game. Sounds about right.
Psychonauts 2 is a superb sequel that appeals to both long-time fans and newcomers. With a engaging story full of twists and turns, excellent witty dialogue, and a gorgeous visual palette, exploring people's minds has never been so fun and thrilling.
We may have been waiting a decade and a half for a sequel, but Double Fine’s efforts haven’t been in vain - Psychonauts 2 is an energetic, imaginative, and excellent 3D platformer, with brains and heart to spare.
I’m elated to have experienced such an awe-inspiring tale, one that no doubt has motivated me for the better, and one that I will surely be reflecting upon for a long time. I can without a doubt, unequivocally recommend Psychonauts 2, as an essential title for 2021. Game of the Year worthy.
The warped worlds inside people's minds are yours to explore in a bold and beautiful sequel that never fails to surprise
Psychonauts 2 in particular is a game of surprising psychological insight, full of rich, flawed characters at the end of their ropes. If so much of this game is a reiteration of what worked about its predecessor, it functions as a reminder for just how much of the medium is still catching up to Psychonauts.
In setting expectation for the journey ahead, pulling teeth and using them as weapons in a brain wholly fixated on dental fears is about as clear an indication as you need.
Psychonauts 2 is a game for everyone. Because of the recap about what happened in the last two titles, newcomers and returning players will be able to slip seamlessly into this game. The story is incredibly awesome with a lot of the issues in the gameplay being fixed. Double Fine has lived up to their high standards and made a world just as incredible as the first game. If your fan of the series or never played the original before, this is definitely a game to pick up.
As someone who has loved Psychonauts since I first played it over a decade ago, I cannot stress how much joy this sequel has brought me. If you're someone that also loves the original, I have a hard time believing that you won't enjoy this experience from beginning to end. And even if you're a newcomer who has been interested in Psychonauts 2 from afar, there is still more than enough here to keep you smiling from ear to ear on a regular basis. Psychonauts 2 is absolutely one of the best games so far in 2021 and serves as a fantastic example of why Xbox looked to purchase Double Fine in the first place.
The real strong point is and remains the narration: crazy and brilliant but, above all, able to act on several levels having fun but also pushing towards reflections on how complex the human psyche can be.
