‎In short, ‎‎a simple title in its staging, complex to master, but very accessible and fun for any type of player.‎‎ ‎

It has all the makings of a great fighter but just feels slightly sluggish in several areas. Although this is a nice first step in what could be a promising series from developers nWay and I look forward to what they do next with this franchise.

As an early adopter of Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, it's a delight to see nWay listening to the initial issues and addressing them as thoroughly as they have. Rosters and stages have increased exponentially and by focusing firmly on the Shattered Grid storyline of the comics, have created a fanboys dream in terms of a story mode. Mostly all series are represented here and with game expansions and updates being added constantly, if your favourite isn't there, rest assured they are coming. Fans are also being consulted on next additions which is really appreciated. At its core, there has always been an in-depth well crafted fighting game on offer, but now with all the bells and whistles raising it to a real contender for the fighting game throne. This has got the power.

Power Rangers Battle for the Grid was undoubtedly a lot of fun to play. It does a great job of making the game easy for beginners to learn and feel enjoyable for the more experienced player. Despite not knowing many of the characters, I still enjoyed playing through the game.

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is today a competent fighting game, and the best game based on the Saban franchise. With the addition of the story mode, the free characters, and the three paid seasons that add more fighters and content, we can already begin to consider the work of nWay as a fighting game to consider - even for those who do not have no interest in the franchise - and for fans, the inclusion of some of the voices of the original actors offers a much more complete and engaging product.

At the end of the day, Battle for the Grid is a solid fighting game. In fact, it is a really good one.

Flaws aside, this is the best Power Rangers game so far and I can only hope that nWay continues to create and iterate within this franchise. Battle for the Grid is a stellar game for Power Rangers fans and it was clearly made by people with equal love for these heroes.

While not the most polished fighting game available, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid's gameplay and presentation makes it shine like a diamond in the rough, making it appropriate only for diehard Power Rangers fans and hardcore fighting game fans.

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is the first good Power Rangers game in so long. While I’ve enjoyed the mobile-only Power Rangers: Legacy Wars for some time, I was really only wanting a story and more offline modes, and this has that in full. I recommend this game to any Power Rangers fan past or present, but let it be known that at this time the story mode is the best thing on offer, and its roster is rather lacking for such a rich and established history to draw from. That said, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is a love letter to the franchise, and just needs time to mature to be something great with more additions.

Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid is easy to learn and fun to play and the different play styles on the characters make up for the lack of variety. However, the game still lacks enough content to justify playing it for more than a few hours. As a fighting game, the core is fine, but it needs a lot of improving.

There is fun to be had here, but it's limited by not having enough to actually do in the game. If more people were playing online it might be a different story, but it's not.

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is a perfect fighting game. For button-masher that is. The pro won't find here anything that will keep them in the game for more than a few fights. Unless they love Power Rangers. But even though they might... Why bother?

This game still has ways to go before it can properly say that it’s a complete game. Though the foundation is there. Ultimately, it’s up to the game’s community to continue supporting it. And the developers to further improve upon it.

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid isn’t going to reinvent the wheel but it will let you remember days gone while enjoying a solid fighter. Or it will make you really wish that Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon would pay attention to my suggestion about a TV show…

Fun, nostalgic and easy to pick up, but its lack of variety make it feel rushed and unfinished. This game has the potential to be the Power Rangers, but for now, it has ended up being Bulk and Skull.

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid will not disappoint those within the Power Rangers fan base looking for a fun and simple 2D fighting game and its well implemented online component further adds to that. Where Battle for the Grid falls short, however, is on its visual component, which does not attempt to fully profit from the Nintendo Switch capacities and especially, on its business model, which will impose the need for paid DLC in order to expand the fighters' roster.

Throughout this review I feel like I’ve given Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid a pretty hard time, but It’s not the worst fighting game I’ve played in recent memory. For it’s $19.99USD price point on the PlayStation Store It has an okay value for what it contains. If they follow through with the plans for more characters on the roster and add some additional stages Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid can become a well-rounded fighter. I give Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid a Thumb Culture Bronze Award purely based on what is available at launch. It has the opportunity down the road to better itself, but for now, it’s a resounding meh.

I found Battle for the Grid‘s gameplay to be a blast when playing locally with a friend. The easy inputs help new players get into the action quickly without having to overcome a huge learning curve. Power Rangers fans will love this game if they have someone they can consistently play with. The gameplay is smooth and the action is fine-tuned to allow for fast-paced combos. Sadly, everything else about this game makes it painfully clear that this was a budget title. Battle for the Grid is fun because of nWay’s devotion to creating an approachable fighting game with nods to its many predecessors. Other than that, I would not recommend Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, especially if you’re looking for a game with a good amount of content and decent netcode. Die-hard fans of Power Rangers are likely to purchase Battle for the Grid regardless, but I’d be surprised if they play it for very long. As for anyone looking for a memorable new fighting game, I’d advise you swerve this effort and look elsewhere.

At [its low price point], there is some leeway to be given to Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid. It’s extremely fair for what is ultimately a fun, Marvel vs. Capcom-lite clone. There is also future support ensured with more characters and skins.
