Redeemer: Enhanced Edition Reviews
An heir to the ultraviolence of Hotline Miami really deep, funny and replayable.

While the beat-em-up was an arcade and early console staple in more recent years it hasn't had much representation...
The general idea behind Redeemer is solid, however its realization could have been better. Too bad for some the sparse technical issues.

Redeemer's combat is world class; revealing itself to be both hugely satisfying and wonderfully tactile. It's just a shame that there isn't enough game built around it and that the game which is there, appears so very unambitious. Nonetheless, Redeemer is more than capable of providing a barrage of violent thrills for a good few hours all the same.
Redeemer is a deeply flawed game that manages to provide moments of fun but too often feels frustrating and under-developed.
There’s no doubt about it – Redeemer: Enhanced Edition is indeed an improvement over the original game. It is still ultimately a victim to repetition though.
Redeemer: Enhanced Edition leaves mixed impressions. The developers tried to create a simple and fun cooperative beat 'em up, but a lot of technical problems, poor animation and boring boss fights prevent to get real pleasure from the gameplay. It may well appeal to fans of the genre, who will close their eyes to the shortcomings, but all the others are unlikely to be interested.

If mowing down brainless mercenaries and mutants in confined spaces is your thing, then you’ll feel right at home with the Redeemer: Enhanced Edition. But if you are expecting something more from the £25/$30 which you’ll have to spend on this particular release, then you will be inexplicably disappointed – especially when faced with title’s numerous issues.
There are some cool ideas in Redeemer but they just don’t come together in an enjoyable way. Hopefully, a more refined sequel will put Vasily in a better light. For now, his defiant echoes through the mountains will likely fall on deaf ears.
Redeemer Enhanced Edition doesn't add much to the formula but it's still a pleasant way to change your mind with some funny violence. And a friend with you on the couch.

Redeemer Enhanced Edition is quite fun to pick up and play for a bit. However, performance issues and an obvious lack of scaling for single-player keeps the game from being anything other than somewhat disappointing.

Redeemer: Enhanced Edition is a frustrating one for me because I would recommend it so much more if it didn’t have all the technical issues that it has. That said, there’s a promising game underneath all that and the game is satisfying enough to play that I would recommend it if you have a lot of patience and have the ability to see past a bunch of technical faults and glitches. It’s a game I don’t regret spending my time with and it’s a pretty competent top-down, twin-stick shooter all things considered. It gets a Thumb Culture Silver Award from me!
Redeemer: Enhanced Edition offers a brutal adventure that is full of imaginative and enjoyable ways to beat down your foes… believe me, there’ll be a LOT of blood spilled on your roughly seven-hour adventure. It does have a few missteps along the way thanks to some unimaginative and repetitive level design, but the incredibly satisfying combat mechanics and the fantastic multiplayer component help ensure that Redeemer: Enhanced Edition is an enjoyable addition to the brawler genre and one that console gamers really ought to check out.
“A satisfying bit of bone crunching fun, Redeemer brings some much welcomed innovation to a sometimes stale genre. A short run-time and a few technical hiccups are the only things holding the game back from greatness.”
It's a fun thrill ride while it lasts. Redeemer Enhanced Edition is kind of a one and done game and it’s not a very long one. Having said that, what you get in that one playthrough is some gripping action, solid gameplay, and a chance to team up with a buddy. There’s potentially the makings of an exciting new IP here and I just hope, if they ever do a Redeemer 2, it benefits from some of that potential.
Redeemer Enhanced Edition is a game for those who want classic style action.

Nothing from the weird upgrade change to the technical glitches stops Redeemer from being enjoyable. It’s a solid brawler that hits hard and delivers a fun action movie good time for a few hours.
it is a game that`s going to be fun, challenging at times, and if you love a good twin-stick shooter, then you`ll enjoy Redeemer.
Way too simple, with a lot of storytelling and character development issues, Redeemer: Enhanced Edition can still deliver something positive with a fun, more complex but underexplored combat. It ends up being a poor execution even though it has the potential to be better.

Redeemer: Enhanced Edition is a fun co-op experience with great combat that is stuck in a game containing no other redeeming features.
