After MXGP Pro settled into a hardcore dirt biking niche, MXGP 2019 surprisingly steps away from that feel just one year later. It tries to combine multiple elements like track creation and player challenges, while still representing an official championship and gets lost on the way. It's neither an arcade racer nor a serious simulator and the end result is quite bland.

I can definitely recommend MXGP 19 to newcomers who are intrigued by the sport or are looking for a different kind of racing fix. It’s not the best racing I’ve done this year, but I found myself enjoying the time I spent working through the season mode (even if its structure was boring) and all the noodling around in Playground mode was entertaining.

Milestone is finding in MXGP the ideal place to experiment with new features and this year's game demonstrates that they can do it successfully.

OK MXGP 2019 does the job and it does it pretty well. Evidenced by the new free mode offered to players. But the rest continues to capitalize on gains that are starting to age. Today, you have to create stories around the races and make them more realistic by reducing the line between the real and the virtual.

MXGP 2019 is a safe bet for those looking to race with the full weight of the real MXGP behind the game. It’s a mostly by-the-numbers dirt biking game, with some modernity thrown in.

While the attempts to inject a bit of life into the series with a semi open-world mode and a track editor are laudable, the game itself is just too familiar. Newcomers might appreciate what the MXGP 2019 has to offer, but anyone who's played any previous game in the series will just feel like they've seen it all before

It’s hard to settle upon an audience for MXGP 2019, especially on Xbox One — MXGP3 will work just fine for casual players, and those looking for a hardcore experience are better serviced with MXGP Pro instead.

MXGP 2019 received some key upgrades in relation to bike and rider physics, game modes and in the UI department, but I am not sure that is enough to describe it as an absolute must-have title for your rotation. Having all the licensed drivers and bikes for MXGP 2019, and the inclusion of the track creator, help justify the purchase for me. However, the lack of career mode improvements, thin online options and average overall depth hold the title back just a bit. In the end, there is some fantastic racing and robust AI here for those who do decide to pick up MXGP 2019.

Little improvements, and finally a good track editor enters the series, but there's not true innovation from the previous MXGP.

MXGP 19 is not an step forward in the series. Despite the advanced graphics and enjoyable control of the motocycles, shortage of contents and mods, no story mode, not any interesting music and in top of all, bad physics, make the experience of MXGP 19, Far from what it could be with huge potential it had.

There is no denying that MXGP 2019 is not a game for everyone. It is not the most popular competition nor is it very friendly for those who are used to more arcade soul games, but if it is given an opportunity in less than what we think we will go from being fighting to finish a race to being in the middle of the platoon and finally having fun fighting for the podium. The new modes, especially the circuit editor, make a qualitative leap in a saga that can give us many hours of fun.

In sum, MXGP 2019 cannot be the bridge to a new audience into the world of Milestone games. However, this game can be fun for older fans.

MXGP 2019 offers a surprisingly nice variety of game modes to choose from. Officially licensed brands are also a welcome surprise. The new in-game track editor still has some flaws but overall the new official MXGP game is definitely worth trying whether you are a casual or an experienced player.
