Natural wonder, nonlinear exploration, and brutal difficulty come together beautifully in Ori and the Blind Forest.

While there are areas that could be further developed and we'd certainly like to be able to collect the handful of doodads we've missed, make no mistake that Ori and the Blind Forest is a satisfying adventure. It doesn't aim for style over substance, but evokes joy in movement, challenging you without being too punishing. Take in a breath of fresh air and see what the forest has in store.

A memorable adventure and much more complex than its audiovisual section seems to want to tell us. Fans of metroidvania-style games have a new mandatory stop thanks to Moon Studios.

A very charming platformer, but not a groundbreaking one.

Ori and the Blind Forest is the first fully realized endeavor from developer Moon Studios. With pristine quality in every facet of the game, it is a monumental premier that will hopefully be well-received by all and provide the financial support for the company to create more fantastic games. Microsoft deserves high marks for partnering with this independent developer, a relationship we can only hope gets nurtured moving forward. This gem of a title will captivate your heart and test your skill, providing a soul-inspiring experience that will remain long after the game has been put down.

Ori and the Blind Forest is a title that has set the bar high for modern day "Metroidvania" games.  From the original artwork and the enveloping soundtrack to the pixel perfect control and heartfelt narrative, anyone who plays this game will find themself hooked from the get-go. Do yourself a favour, don't pass on this game, especially for the price, as you'd be missing out on a really great gaming experience.

Gorgeous visuals and some sublime visual storytelling, Ori And The Blind Forest might not do much that is genuinely new but almost everything it does attempt is genuinely great.

I died 542 times while playing Ori and the Blind Forest. I was frustrated at times, but this is still one of the better games to hit Xbox One (or even next-gen altogether) so far this year.

Ori and the Blind Forest is a beautiful, punishing game that harkens back to the classic side-scrolling titles of the SNES. It will beat you down and test every ounce of patience, but not without reward. This is one of those games people will be talking about down the road, not unlike Shadow Complex or Geometry Wars. It once again showcases that there are so many games and so many ways to deliver and experience them; and this is one experience you can't afford to miss.

It may be too early into the year, but I honestly believe this title to be more than a good contender for game of the year — it's certainly worth every penny.

Ori and the Blind Forest is a stunning, impressive and unforgettable new IP, but its challenging gameplay will turn some folks off.

Lush appearance and polished mechanics are not to be sniffed at, of course, and even if the game's long term appeal never quite reaches the dizzying heights its first impressions hint at, the difference is barely worth quibbling over. It's no exaggeration to say that Ori and the Blind Forest is still arguably the best Microsoft console exclusive of the last six months.

Ori and the Blind Forest is an absolute success, a real little masterpiece as much in its dazzling aesthetics as in its gameplay adjusted to the millimeter. The very touching prologue which makes us plunge into this tears in our eyes quickly gives way to an action / adventure game masterfully led by Moon Studios, where the acquisition of each new power revives the Interest of more beautiful and where the ingenious and memorable sequences are linked tirelessly, from start to finish, without being able to let go of the joystick as the pleasure is great.

Ori and the Blind Forest doesn't add anything new to the genre of gaming that it was inspired by, but few other games can match the polished gameplay and humbling difficulty of this charming little fella.
