"Journey to the Savage Planet" proves to be a colorful space adventure, that is only too happy to make fun of itself and therefore stands out from many an action title in a charming way. The extensive game world invites you to explore and presents the player with a whole arsenal of crazy aliens. The individual battles may be rare, but they are just as bizarre and make the player smile even when the game-over screen beckons. Nevertheless, "Journey to the Savage Planet" is technically far from perfect and is quite manageable with about fifteen hours of gameplay. Nevertheless, players will find "Journey to the Savage Planet" an adventure title of a special kind and will not be able to resist the one or other laugh during the battle with the cheeky pug birds.

Journey To The Savage Planet may not be the most unique title, but it is a delightful space themed romp. As someone who isn’t the biggest fan of this genre of media, it serves as one of the better examples of its field.

Despite some issues that create a disconnect between the lighthearted tone of the game and the intensity of the battles, Journey to the Savage Planet is exactly that: a journey across a planet that is just as silly as it is savage.

If you are looking for a good adventure game with some a bit of combat, this is a good find. It only takes a weekend to complete most of the quests. If you’ve got a couple of days, you might even find out what happens when you complete your mission before going back to Earth. For it’s witty writing alone, I highly recommend this game to players of all ages and skill levels. And do definitely stay for the exploration, it’s definitely worth it.

Journey To The Savage Planet is undoubtedly one of the highlights of this year's adventure that manages to create a fun and memorable experience with its superb artistic design and entertaining gameplay. If surfing the amazing planet was accompanied by a more captivating story, the end result could have been even better.

Long story short, unlike my journey across the not-so savage planet: if you’re looking for fun with a hearty helping of a challenge, you’re in the right place. If you’re looking for a serious game with deep lore, you’re in the wrong place. Journey To The Savage Planet is a short but sweet and fun romp across a shallow pond, not to be taken too seriously but to be enjoyed without thinking too hard about it. I’d love to see a more in-depth sequel in the future but, for now, I’ll remain content with slapping rocks and loving my Pufferbirds.

Despite its shortcomings, Journey To The Savage Planet is a charming little game, one that utilizes some good humour whilst delivering an enjoyable, vibrant and short adventure worth playing. It's unlikely to be regarded as one of the best games of the year, but it's a pleasant enough journey nonetheless.

Journey To The Savage Planet (JTTSP) is an EXPLORATION, COLLECTING and SHOOTING game. These 3 elements have similar weight during gameplay if you play as an explorer and not focused just on completing main missions. The missions are divided into 3 sections: main, side and collecting. While the main missions take you through the storyline of the game, the side and collectible missions unlock perks that improve your character and gear. JTTSP won't defy your abilities as a gamer, the PURPOSE OF THE GAME is to offer you a fun and enjoyable challenge.

The Switch port of Journey to the Savage Planet might have been a disappointing due to the severe amount of visual setbacks and a somewhat lackluster overall performance, but at the end of the day, it’s still a very playable and hilarious experience. If you can ignore the graphical hindrances in favor of the ability to play this game on-the-go, then this is an easy recommendation.

Journey to the Savage Planet is a fun and likeable game with great visuals and a quirky feel that keeps events and gameplay interesting. Players can take their own time with things and explore this crazy and wacky world. It’s not the most difficult of games but this factor alone makes it very accessible. It ticks all the right boxes and doesn’t really falter as far as we’re concerned. Therefore it comes highly recommended for adventure fans looking to broaden their horizons on this unusual planet.

Who knew that 2020 would start off with quite a charming sci-fi endeavour from a small studio like Typhoon? I certainly didn’t, and I don’t regret it one bit.

Journey to the Savage Planet had a very timid announcement of a new studio, and left a good first impression of the work of the Typhoon Studios team. Speaking of the relaxed atmosphere of the game, I would make a joke that could start with "Borderlands and No Man’s Sky walk into a bar..." and that will give the idea of the atmosphere that the game goes through. It is a fun and well done title, I was very pleased with the experience I had while exploring the planet. And if they throw toy Pufferbirds, I want to collect them all.

Journey to the Savage Planet is a layered and searing portrait of colonialism that will make you laugh throughout, and it plays so much more like an off-the-wall N64 RPG with updated graphics than any of the adventurous space epics on the shelf today. That's to say it's confident in its absurdity and knows that "groundbreaking" and "fun" don't have to go hand-in-hand. It's hard not to enjoy the time you'll spend on AR-Y 26.

Overall, Journey to the Savage Planet is a breath of fresh air for a market that’s saturated with battle royale games, FPS, third-person action, and many others. It’s an indie title that’s also priced at $29.99 and is not asking for the full price of $59.99. For the amount of money this game costs and for what it’s trying to achieve, it’s decent.

One quality I admire most of this title is that right from the start it leads with a pretty messed up sense of humor...

With solid mechanics, one of the most imaginative game worlds we’ve seen in a long time and a killer sense of humour, Journey to the Savage Planet is pure joy from start to finish. Considering this is the first game from developer Typhoon Studios, it’s left me really excited to see what else they can come up with.

Journey to the Savage Planet is a very pleasant and intriguing discovery experience, balanced and with a very particular mood. Visually captivating, the game knows how to dose moments of action with platforming, and its crafting system encourages exploration without forcing a tiring repetition and, added to all this, a light and very well told story.
