Resident Evil 3 is like a good, old wine. It's everything that we loved then, fresher, more mature, more scary and all in all more enjoyable.

Resident Evil 3 Remake takes everything that’s gloriously entertaining about the Resident Evil series and distills it into an infectiously fun essence more potent than the T-Virus itself. If you snap it up for yourself you’ll love it too… Almost as much as Carlos’ hair. Godamnit, Carlos, your feathery hair has stolen my heart!

Resident Evil 3 is a good game, without a doubt, where the fantastic setting and fun at the controls shine with their own light, but it is a wasted opportunity that sometimes loses its objective with sections worthy of less terrifying and more explosive games , taken out of fashions almost a decade ago. Nemesis is the big loser of this reinterpretation of the classic, seeing itself reduced to a punctual and rather guided visitor instead of a more organic and fearsome pursuer, as the trailers seemed to boast.

2020’s Resident Evil 3 is an action-packed spectacle that looks and feels great, but it can’t cover up the contrived nature of the encounters with Nemesis. The absence of some of the locations and plot beats of the original only shortens a narrative that’s already criminal in its brevity.

Even with some original content missing, mainly the few choices branching the story that would help with much needed replayability, Resident Evil 3 Remake still does capture some of the original game’s magic. For some this smaller amount of content can be offset by asymetric multiplayer Resistance. In no way it reaches heights of last year's Resident Evil 2 Remaster.

Resident Evil 3 is a game that starts off with one hell of a first impression; a bigger, badder villain, a great opening level, and an intriguing story all work together to set a high standard for the rest of the game, but try as it might, the rest of the game fails to ever reach that standard, resulting in a final product that feels like an empty, undercooked Jill Sandwich for which you paid sixty dollars.

Capcom delivers another awesome remake, but the way it tries to compensate for the short lenght —a new multiplayer game, Resident Evil Resistance— is not memorable at all.

Resident Evil 3 is exactly what I hoped for after the stellar re-imagining of RE2. I have seen criticism that the game is too short, but given that YouTube has countless RE2 speed runs hovering around the 50 minute mark, it feels like a stretch. Plus, if you are hurting for content there is an entire online game attached.

Resident Evil 3 Remake looks like an excellent title, enjoyable gameplay, but that excels in particular from the graphic point of view, presenting a lively Raccoon City, rich in details and with a practically perfect character design. Unfortunately, the paucity of extra content and the reduced duration of the main quest, make Resident Evil 3 Remake a title not suitable for everyone, especially for fans who expected a faithful reproduction of the events of the original title for PlayStation released in 1999. The addition of Resident Evil: Resistance to the sales bundle partially manages to make up for the reduced longevity of the security, but not to fully justify the excessive selling price.

A beautifully realised world and stellar heroes in both Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira cannot mask the fact that Resident Evil 3 has some scary flaws.

10/10 if Resident Evil 3 Remake were not a Resident Evil game. As a Resident Evil game within the broader series, 7/10. What's good about it is good, but what's lacking is lacking.

Resident Evil 3 brings a refreshing feel to the classic by implementing immersive music, remarkable graphics, and a fantastic story along with an updated combat system that does a great job of leaving you wanting some more Resident Evil action.

Capcom, sorry to say, was wrong in creating this game, which seems rushed and flat. It has its merits, yes, but it also has many flaws that will disappoint everyone a bit: the old fans and the new, because it's not a remake worthy of the name but even as a game in its own right is not so good.

Again we find the tuning of a classic, but that comes with many more news. Graphically it is spectacular, and its plot fits better with its previous installment. It's somewhat shorter and less replayable than Leon and Claire's adventure and doesn't feature Mercenaries mode, but the multiplayer Resistance is entertaining too.

As a rental and a possible £25/£30 title, Resi 3 is well worth your time and although limited in scope, is an enjoyable enough experience to blast through. It’s not perfect but much like Nemesis itself, the Resident Evil 3 remake wants you to beat it again and again and again. After a while though, this becomes tiresome and it’s unlikely you’ll return to this one in a hurry when you’re done with it.

This is a must-buy for Resident Evil fans – a great game, but a short game. The online component adds some value and it’s ideal if you’re a fan of speedrunning. If you’re new to the series, it might be better to wait for a sale.

Even though it’s definitely a different experience from RE2, Resident Evil 3 feels like a healthy mix of old and new. While it shifts focus from horror to action, it still delivers a short but sweet experience.

Resident Evil 3 is more of a re-imagining than a remake. Orthodox fans of the original might not be happy, but on the other hand, at least you don't know what to expect from Nemesis. There's no denying the fact that compared to Resident Evil 2. this game is more action packed, linear and shorter. If you don't mind that, there's plenty of fun to be had in Raccoon City

Coming off the massive success of Resident Evil 2 2019 Capcom decided to remake another classic title, Resident Evil 3. Remaining loyal to the canon lore this revisiting of Jill Valentine's nightmare through Raccoon City provides all the iconic moments from the original. As the deadly mutated beast Nemesis hunts the S.T.A.R.S. agent through the night, killing anyone who gets in its way. Despite the campaign providing an outstanding survival-horror campaign the brief experience is over just as quickly. With little alternative options to entice players to keep playing the single-player. The multiplayer does a decent job of offering a decent 1v4 competitive option. Despite the shortcomings, Resident Evil 3 2020 provides a short quality adventure as you attempt to survive the infected streets of Raccoon City.

Resident Evil 3 is exactly the remake that fans have come to expect after last year's release and deserves nothing less than the damaged franchise. A staged masterstroke is coupled with a graphic splendour, which completely plays into the cards with the creepy atmosphere and the action-packed background story. Capcom playfully manages the demanding balancing act between a fast-paced action bombast and a filigree survival horror shooter with bravura. Only the compressed playing time and its retired replay value are more seriously detrimental to the remake. The asymmetric multiplayer mode Resistance serves even in this respect only as a nice bonus, with which Capcom at least benevolently tries to overcome this point of criticism. Nevertheless, the Japanese publisher seems to have understood in recent years what the franchise is all about in its essential core and finally leads the Resident Evil brand back to the gruesome genre throne with a newly discovered self-esteem after a long period of discovery. Resident Evil 3 is no less a successful remake of the 1999 original, which legitimizes Capcom's remake policy throughout.
