Predator: Hunting Grounds Reviews
The next-gen update to Predator: Hunting Grounds unfortunately doesn't fix the core issues that the gameplay has. Long matchmaking times (presumably due to a small player base), limited gameplay options and the inherent problems present in asymmetrical multiplayer games (that one person who quits immediately if they don't get to be the Predator, you know who you are) are all still here.
The devil is in the details
Predator: Hunting Grounds is a repetitive asymmetrical PvP title that will quickly bore you if you are used to the title or have no absolute love for 80s nostalgia. No matter what side you are playing on, the game becomes incredibly predictable to the point where neither side has much fun. While that was okay for the original release of the title, more effort should have been made to add variety to the game outside of skins.
I already loved this game on PS4 and now that IllFonic has been freed from the Sony exclusivity; Predator: Hunting Grounds for the Series X and PS5 feels like such an improvement over the original. With its upgraded visuals, enhanced performance and engaging gameplay, it offers an exciting experience to the asymmetrical genre. If you are a fan of the Predator franchise then this should already be on your list, but even if you just want a thrilling multiplayer shooter, Predator: Hunting Grounds is worth checking out.
Predator: Hunting Grounds will take you back to 1987 if you are like me and were not even alive back then but love the movies. When you launch this title and are sitting on the menu, you get to listen to the main theme from the movie, which was a giant nod and got me keen to launch into the jungle.
Drastic improvements made to the core gameplay of Predator: Hunting Grounds vastly enhances the overall experience, making for a much more polished and better game than the one I played back in 2020. Predator: Hunting Grounds deserves a second chance.
What we have in Predator: Hunting Grounds even provides some fun, such as explorations in search of valuable resources, joint attacks against the Predator (until the almost inevitable defeat) or reviving defeated colleagues. The alien hunter offers more, with even Mortal Kombat-style fatalities. It's a shame that you have to put up with an exaggerated asymmetry, which will lead to few cool matches amidst several annoyances.

It is nice for Predator: Hunting Grounds to finally see the light of day on the Xbox platform. Illfonic has been wise and opted for the low entry cost of just over £16 for the bog standard edition of the game. The team hasn’t just ported the game across in the hope of a quick buck, either. Overall, the presentation has had a good polish and gloss-over for this new lease of life on the green side of the fence. It was fantastic to see the early crashing issues promptly resolved within a matter of days of launch, I can now report that the game runs like clockwork. Bearing in mind that the game is four and a half years old at this stage, you have to forgive that it will look a little dated. However, what we essentially have for Xbox is a brand-new FPS for the console, and we always need more. What I adored about Predator: Hunting Grounds is the ability to have fun whether playing alone or with friends online, you can succeed in both scenarios. The intensity of being stalked by whoever is playing as Predator always has you on edge and brings the atmosphere of the movies into the game. For its low-cost entry and an absolute ton to unlock and level up, it is well worth a punt!
The updated version of Predator: Hunting Grounds features the same formula as its counterpart that originally arrived on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The improvements made mainly concern the graphical and technical components, while maintaining almost identical gameplay. That said, the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are a worthwhile purchase for fans of the film series. Those who have already tried the original title, however, will not see so many changes as to justify the purchase on current gen.

Predator: Hunting Grounds had a troubled launch when it arrived on PlayStation 4 and goes through the same mishaps in this new version due to technical problems that continue to negatively affect the experience. The asymmetrical multiplayer mode allows for a faithful adaptation to what we've seen in the classic films, but the balance needs continuous adjustments to ensure that both factions are viable choices.

Avoid Predator: Hunting Grounds like you're being hunted by the Predator itself!
Predator: Hunting Grounds turns out to be a missed opportunity since many improvements could have been made if the title had spent more time in development.

A technically not perfect title that is still fun, especially if you play the role of the ultimate predator, if you are passionate about the franchise and if you play in good company. Who knows if with the next DLC, one of which expects to be able to use Arnold already, and with some future patches, the game cannot improve significantly.

Predator is very popular movie and game character. But this time even his hand blades can't persuade to buy Hunting Grounds. Becouse lack of content and poor stability.

It's not a bad game, and is fun for a weekend, but it doesn't offer enough to justify it's price tag.
Predator: Hunting Grounds offers us a simple, direct and concise gameplay, that sins of simple past a few games. The truth is that it can be addictive, since if you do not care which side you are you can play games quickly, and the tension, as well as the development of the mission, are very well reflected.

“Predator Hunting grounds actually does a half-decent job of capturing some of the awesome that was the first Predator movie. But its gameplay as content is spread really thin and has many issues, which makes the game feel a little unfinished”

Predator: Hunting Grounds looks like a free-to-play game, poor in content, mechanics and visuals, where certain animations and effects are completely out of date, making impossible to recommend it beyond the most absolute fans of the Predator character or online multiplayer games.
