While the plot and characters in Desperados III may be familiar, each scenario feels distinct.
For that what Desperados III is trying to be, it gets the job done. Mimimi Productions knows how to craft probably the best games in the real time strategy genre. The western setting was beautifully done and the characters are mostly amazing. If you are a newcomer to the series, you should stick with Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun because Desperados III will mainly please veterans.

Sometimes the try, die, retry system can grind your gears, but more often than not you’ll be enjoying the myriad scenarios in which you stealth kill your way to another victory.
While the style of the game might not be for everyone, for those that enjoy this genre, they’ll be in for an absolute treat. Desperados III is an outstanding accomplishment and should not be missed.
Desperados III is one of the best surprises this year. Maybe it is not a game for everyone, but if you like the genre, or if you are a fan of the Wild West, this is a game that you cannot miss

Desperados III is a great real-time tactics game. Its elegant level design, great music, right implementation of Quick Save and Quick Load mechanisms, and well-written characters help to create a perfect experience in this genre. It is a must-buy for every fan of the Desperados franchise and the genre. Even if you’re not familiar with real-time tactics games, Desperados 3 can be an extraordinary impressive experience.

Desperados III is the pre-sequel that we didn’t ask for, but we sure needed it. It’s a (poisoned) shot in the arm that shows how problem-solving, not lightning-quick reflexes can save the day.
Mimimi Games returns to the real-time stealth tactical genre with Desperados 3. Across massive levels, players will guide their magnificent five characters toward their objectives. Each hero has their own strength they bring to the team, and they're all essential to survive. Desperados is a game of trial-and-error, expecting quicksaves and quickloads to "solve" each level. There's some small muddiness in the controls and enemy perception, and occasionally the punishment for slight mistakes in character or item placement feels punitive. That said, Desperados 3 nonetheless remains a fantastic follow-up to the first game and another win for the developer.
Desperados III is a title based on the classic video game Commands, with a great strategic component and freedom of movement. Charismatic characters, good story, fun and engaging gameplay and many hours of gameplay.

Desperados III was an absolute joy to play. The hype is well warranted and if you are the least bit interested, grab it. Gamers that aren't too keen on a lot of stealth or sneaking around may not enjoy it as much.
Ever since seeing the game for the first time at last year’s E3, I was hopeful that it would turn out well due to the people who were handling it and how much I’ve enjoyed playing their previous game, but my expectations were surpassed by the sheer quality of the end product that I got to enjoy over the course of a week reviewing it. Desperados III is one of my — if not the absolute — favorite games that’s come out in 2020.
Fans of the original will appreciate this challenging but versatile mix of stealth and strategy, but it misses almost every opportunity to update the Commandos formula for the modern era.
Desperados III is nothing short of an excellent tactical strategy game. There is so much here to play through and the way it is designed you’ll be encouraged to go back and replay missions in different ways to pass optional challenges or to just see how you can do it differently.
The long wait for the return of Desperados has not been in vain.
Desperados III is an excellent choice for real time strategy lovers, it is well worth your time and money, and it again proves the capabilities of Shadow Tactics developer Mimimi games to craft a great experience.

If you're looking for a highly enjoyable experience that's undoubtedly something different, Desperados III will provide hours of gunslinging good times. Plus, those who enjoy perfecting their strategies as they take a trial and error approach will absolutely love it.
Building on Mimimi Games' success with Shadow Tactics, Desperados III is mature, confident gameplay design, and while it might not look like an AAA-blockbuster, it certainly has the level of refinement and quality that is a rare thing indeed. It could have been a little more in places, but it's a solid, intelligent depiction of a beloved part of America's narrative heritage and aesthetic, with some excellent and creative tactical puzzles to sort through along the way.
Desperados 3 is the leader of the pack in this genre. A quality game, tight controls, excellent story and addictive puzzle-based gameplay that rewards creative thinking when you clear an area of bad folks.
Desperados III is a downright fantastic real-time tactics title.
