Desperados III Reviews
The long wait for the return of Desperados has not been in vain.
A hardcore Western-themed real-time tactics game that ain't for the faint hearted
Sometimes the try, die, retry system can grind your gears, but more often than not you’ll be enjoying the myriad scenarios in which you stealth kill your way to another victory.
Cosmetic switcheroos aside, the idea is the same: sweet, sweet puzzle-violence.
Desperados III won't be the glorious return of the franchise, but it's certainly a great game for the fans of this peculiar subgenre.

What's a Western Without Revenge?
Desperados III is an accomplished real-time tactical stealth game that is practically flawless outside of some minor technical issues. Those seeking a title that they can really sink their teeth into, learning the ins and outs of its world so that they can master it will find a hell of a lot to enjoy here, especially if they resonate with the Wild West theme. Players will need to accept that failure is a part of the process, however, as is dealing with occasionally fiddly controls.
Desperados 3 is a much-belated sequel that strikes the right balance between classic gameplay mechanics and modern sensibilities.
It may not be a western classic like the old spaghetti westerns, but Desperados 3 stands tall as a great western tale not of redemption, but of brilliant tactical strategy. There's nothing more rewarding than pulling off the perfect synergy of puzzle-violence (after loading up a quicksave 2, 3, or 18 times), and the amount of challenges to complete after missions is just begging to be replayed for the most passionate of perfectionists. Now if you'll excuse me Pilgrim, I got a horse to catch.
Desperados 3 is a strong contender for one of my favorite games released so far this year.
Desperados III is a great stealth tactic game with great graphics, music, voice acting, characters and story but can feel like a rehash of previous games made by the same developers.
If you have thick skin and an unquenched desire to solve stealth puzzles in the Wild West, Desperados III is the best real-time tactical stealth game that I have played in a long, long time.
This is maybe one of the greatest merits of Desperados III, even when it makes you sweat and go back to the drawing board, it remains fun and never becomes a dull repetition of the same actions. Although the price tag is not of a AAA game, the content it offers makes it an experience you should not miss. If you were a fan of the original game, Desperados III is the sequel you have been waiting for since 2001.
Mimimi Games once again proved itself as a modern king of the stealth tactics genre. However, Desperados III is dangerously similar to the Shadow Tactics and heavily relies on the ideas of the previous game.

Building on Mimimi Games' success with Shadow Tactics, Desperados III is mature, confident gameplay design, and while it might not look like an AAA-blockbuster, it certainly has the level of refinement and quality that is a rare thing indeed. It could have been a little more in places, but it's a solid, intelligent depiction of a beloved part of America's narrative heritage and aesthetic, with some excellent and creative tactical puzzles to sort through along the way.
Desperados III is a great tactical stealth game with five diverse characters traversing through large open levels with alternate routes that enhance replay value. Picking off patrols and executing multiple actions works marvelously through both the swamps and the frontier towns. And with high quality presentation, this is one entry that fans of the genre shouldn't miss.
I fell in love.

Desperados III is nothing short of an excellent tactical strategy game. There is so much here to play through and the way it is designed you’ll be encouraged to go back and replay missions in different ways to pass optional challenges or to just see how you can do it differently.
Desperados III is an excellent choice for real time strategy lovers, it is well worth your time and money, and it again proves the capabilities of Shadow Tactics developer Mimimi games to craft a great experience.
