Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning might be worth it for those that never got around to the original. It's hard to recommend to returning players as a bare-bones remaster.
Despite not being the remaster the CG trailers would have us believe, Re-Reckoning remains a worthy title everyone should experience.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was, and still is, a fun game to play. With hundreds of missions and a constant wealth of loot to sort through, this remaster, as poor as it is, would still tickle the fantasy-RPG bone of anyone seeking a time-sink until November.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is disappointing remaster. It offers a minimal technical revamp, in an experience that gives a feeling that it doesn't belong in 2020.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-reckoning is a good fantasy role-playing title that was not delivered as it should have been. The game battles are very varied and fast, the game's artistic graphics and technical stability are at a good level, the design of the mission stages are repeated after a while, and the game characters are dry and soulless. The game remaster is just a simple port for current generation consoles and is very slightly different from the original version.

Ultimately, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is a bare-bones port of a solid, if unexceptional, game. Amalur is the kind of game that got overshadowed when it was released, and it seems just as likely to get overshadowed now. If you're a fan looking to revisit the title, this is a good experience, but it's not meaningfully different from what you might have played almost a decade ago.
With a deeper level of adjustments and tuning, Re:Reckoning could have elevated a cult classic to equal many modern action RPG’s. Instead, this remaster plays it safe and doesn’t really change much.
Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning brings you back to a magical world. The game has been polished to bring it to 2020. This succeeded for the better part of it. The game looks good overall but here and there the aging is still visible pretty clearly. For 40 euros you still get a hell of an RPG with more than 40 hours of story, all of the DLC, and next to that a lot of side missions, tons of weapons, and more. Also, there is a new DLC on its way for the game slated in 2021. That makes this more than worth the buy.

If you can look past the clunky presentation and fairly frequent bugs, you'll find an ample high fantasy adventure.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning brings back a great RPG in a complete package, with a good story in a universe that still has a lot to explore. The diversified gameplay remains the strong point of the game, however, the remastering should have been better, with more visual and technical improvements for a game that has always been dated in that regard.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning stands out with its incredible combat and great character progression. For those who experienced the original game on PC however, it’s probably best to temper expectations, as the main draws here are a few welcome gameplay improvements and the promise offered by next year’s new content.
It's written in your destiny that if you want a long and immersive journey in a brand new fantasy world, you'll play this game sooner or later. But if you fulfilled that destiny 8 years ago with the original Kingdoms of Amalur, you won't be seeing much differences in this remake.

A solid, if slightly underwhelming remaster of an underappreciated gem of an action RPG. Well worth your time, especially if you missed out on it the first time around. Subtle visual tweaks but some more useful under-the-hood fiddling make it the definitive version of the game.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is a fun way to revisit a game that I have fond memories of from last generation. By and large, the game has aged pretty well. Some fans might be disappointed that there weren’t larger changes made, but I’m happy to see the game back in any form and can once again hold out hope that maybe, just maybe, we’ll get more titles that allow us to revisit this fascinating world in the future as well.
All in all, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning can be great or disappointing depending on your mindset. If you’re looking for a fully remastered and polished up version of this game, then you’re going to feel let down. If you’re simply looking for a new and more accessible way to replay this cult classic, then you’ll probably overlook the imperfections and be happy you can actually play it again.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is an immensely enjoyable fantasy RPG that doesn't have as much remastered content as it could, but one that's still well worth a purchase for anyone looking for a change of pace from modern sword and board games.
