If you thought Among Us needed more storyline, mechanics, and a single-player mode and you enjoy beautiful graphics with a compelling story, you absolutely must pick up Gnosia. The fate of the universe rests on your sleuthing skills, lest you become doomed to repeat history again and again and again and again and again

Overcoming obstacles to reach the truth is the main motto of Gnosia, which can be translated into the Latin expression “through the difficulties for the stars”. With quick matches that can be completed in 20 minutes or less, you can feel the tension of playing a multiplayer in single player mode. With a sci-fi ambience that abuses the theory of the multiverse, this indie is, above all, an intriguing continuous experience, sometimes a little repetitive, that promises to arrest the player from beginning to end. In addition to stimulating logical capacity, the title presents another point of view on parallel universes that can even put our own existence in check. Are loops a metaphor for life?

Gnosia takes the rules of a social game and turns it into a single-player science-fiction experience. Each loop will present you with more questions and slowly feed you answers to what is a compelling and unique narrative. The game is fueled by an amazing cast of insane characters and over-the-top mechanics that make it fun no matter how long you play.

Petit Depotto's unconventional, social deduction RPG is outstanding; it encapsulates the best features of what time travel stories can offer by letting players fully experience the burden of a time traveler themselves.

Gnosia isn’t a game for everyone. You’ll likely loop over a hundred times before you reach the conclusion, and the repeated dialog and loops where nothing happens will infuriate impatient gamers. However, this unique blend of RPG, visual novel, and social deduction game hits like nothing else and is one of the Switch’s hidden gems.

Gnosia is a unique work, with unparalleled original gameplay and style. A real gem, unfortunately unknown, that deserves to be played by everyone who appreciates a simple game that values intelligence, with an exceptional story and unforgettable characters. If you want to experience the adrenaline of an imposter game but don't like the inconveniences of multiplayer, this game is for you.

I ultimately found very little that I disliked about GNOSIA. If anything, I can’t recommend it enough, and honestly, I can’t wait to get back to playing it. In fact, I’m ready to loop through another fight against the Gnosia again.

With an all-new story, unorthodox gameplay, and originality to spare, GNOSIA is a masterpiece of the genre that deserves all the recognition.

Gnosia might not be a new concept – there are so many video games out there that feature death games with deception at the core of them. Last year’s Quantum Suicide even set the scene in space and had a less-than-benevolent AI pulling many of the strings, just like Gnosia does. But Gnosia is something rare: it is really, truly different. The developers wanted to take this common-enough concept and craft something that was truly their own, and not only have you got here a game that you won’t forget in a hurry, it’s also going to have you actively thinking about just how smart it is for some time to come.

Gnosia is a game that’s bound to be incredibly divisive. While I found the main gameplay loop uninteresting, fellow writer Lilia left with a far more positive impression. At the very least, I can appreciate the attempt at creating something fresh, even if I didn’t think it worked in the end. If another game of this style was released with improved gameplay, then I’d still be willing to try it out. It absolutely has potential — potential that I feel Gnosia just couldn’t realise.

Gnosia excels at being whatever you want it to be. As a single-player deduction game, or as a slowly revealing, spine-chilling story with amazing characters in the forefront and lore behind it, Gnosia has immediately become a must-play title for 2021. Just as I had hoped.

Gnosia manages to capture that in single-player format, while creating a story and universe you care about enough to really learn and understand. I know everyone’s tells, but I also know what they like and dislike, what they struggle with and what they seek. Gnosia’s both an impostor game and a visual novel, and the mix results in something else entirely new. Whether you enjoy new forms of storytelling or just want the friendly deception without the social anxiety, it’s well worth experiencing.
