F1 2021 continues the trend of superb racing from the team at Codemasters, though the improved Career Mode and narrative-focused ‘Braking Point’ really take it to the next level. There is something for everyone here across all game modes, whilst the varied difficulty levels and diverse selection of assists ensure anyone can feel comfortable speeding around in a Formula One car. It just so happens to look outstanding too, especially on the PlayStation 5 where the DualSense is also taken advantage of in an immersive way. It really is a special game. The only caveats come with the lack of Sprint races, the missing tracks, and the fact that the main driving formula hasn’t been evolved upon that much from previous entries, but it doesn’t really matter. This is still the best that the F1 series has ever been, with enough varied content on offer to suit both newbies and veteran fans.

F1 2021 pairs the franchise's traditional modes with the excellent story mode Braking Point, gaining additional longevity and freshness. The gameplay is well suited to both novices and experienced players, the damage management is excellent but there is room for improvement in regard to the graphics. Ultimately, a definitely recommended title.

The subtle and necessary improvements that the My Team mode receives, along with the arrival of the 2-player mode for My Career make these modes better than ever,‎‎and I assure you that it has been a long time since I had as much fun playing against a CPU as in these. The arrival of a part of its own for competitive play and the other multiplayer options make this a very complete experience and that will allow both novice players not to get frustrated and experts to compete with each other in evenly matched games. In the absence of seeing how such is Forza Horizon 5 I have it very clear: ‎‎F1 2021 is clear candidate to be the driving title of the year‎‎.‎

Codemasters’ F1 series has taken hundreds of hours from me since 2017, and in return it’s given me a rich, new sports fandom even in my late 40s. And now, F1 2021 is teaching me to expect imperfection, to own my mistakes, and forgive myself. The result may be messy, but it’s mine.

Overall, I find the game to run much smoother than F1 2020. It's great to see codemasters actually fixing issues from the last game to this game but only time will tell. Is it worth buying if you already own F1 2020? I don't think so, unless you are a hardcore F1 fan and really want to try Braking Point. For me, the biggest reason to buy it would be for the co-op career, which just seems like too much fun having your friend as a rival or even a team mate and dominating the season. Hopefully this gives way into maybe having a co-op My Team game mode in the future. Seems like a great step forward and I'm glad EA being involved hasn't influenced Codemasters that much.

When Codemaster's acclaimed F1 series makes its debut on the new consoles, it is not the enhanced graphics that make the biggest impact, but a brand-new story mode. An exciting addition, which unfortunately does not reach its full potential. Fortunately, the superb career mode is intact and slightly improved, as are the many options available to those who prefer to play online. Although some content has been removed since last year's version, and a few other issues remain, F1 2021 offers almost everything an F1 fan could wish for.

F1 2021 yet again improves over its predecessors in enough ways to make it the version to be on and to upgrade to. Whether or not this trend will continue under EA's stewardship remains to be seen. The story mode isn't perfect and the omission of classic cars is a huge shame, F1 2021 is still a fantastic game through which you can live out your childhood motorsport dreams.

While F1 2021 keeps to the same template established by the 2020 edition, it’s still Codemaster’s most accessible and enjoyable F1 racer to date, with the new Braking Point mode adding some Drive to Survive-esque thrills

F1 2021 is the most fun you can have in a Formula driver's cockpit. Braking Point brings the kind of drama you didn't realize you needed in your racing life, even if it does get a little cringeworthy on occasion. This wonderful looking and sounding Formula racer shines on the PS5, even if some of the platform's features are under-utilized at this time. With some sense of normalcy slowly returning to the sporting world at large, F1 2021 represents a great way to follow along with the F1 season while attempting to make a virtual name for yourself, and nowhere else does the sport come alive more than in F1 2021.

The most essential game in the series for years, F1 2021 is a thoroughly enjoyable, accessible and gorgeous racing game. The new Braking Point narrative aspect is a triumph and there’s content and assistance options that will likely please most F1 fans.

F1 2021 is a very good vintage. While remaining in technical and graphic excellence, the game adds an extra layer of links with real F1 and a bit of emotion with the Breaking Point mode. It is still very much into online gaming and even more so with career co-op. There is also a lot to do in all areas (management, development, tuning, driving), depending on the level of complexity that you have adapted to your tastes. A must have for any Formula One fan.

F1 2021 has undeniably struggled with COVID and the limitations it has put on both the sport and the game. However, either despite or because of these limitations, this manages a step forward that the series failed to take two years ago, it brings a genuine story to the game. Braking Point is an undeniable success and, one would hope, marks a starting point in which Codemasters can advance as the series moves forward. Beyond this new mode, almost every aspect has been polished to a diamond-like shine, with the only aspects needing improvement are the MyTeam mode, which already looks lacking as a story of progression when compared to Braking Point, and the poor AI in team management. Despite this minor issue, there's no doubt in my mind that this is the best of the franchise so far and a great launching point to the next generation.

F1 2021 is, like its predecessor at the time, the best game created in Formula 1. Following the path of success and improving it just enough, Codemasters puts us once again on the table with a title with which we will lose hours and hours in my team mode, watching Aiden Jackson at Breaking Point or fighting face to face with a player in Germany and another in Japan for a victory that can lead us to be among the best in e-sports.

F1 2021 incorporates (and improves) all the features of the previous F1 games developed by Codemasters. Driving is fun and can be adapted to suit both newbies and those looking for a sufficiently complex experience, although players who look for a full simulation might be slightly disappointed. Game modes are numerous, varied and well structured. Both those who love to run alone and those who prefer to compete with (or against) other players will find something that will keep them busy for months.

If you've grown tired of last year's game then you can probably sit this iteration out; for first time players, or those returning after a couple of years' hiatus, Formula 1 games have never felt so authentic, so in-depth, yet so accessible. Slip on your race suit and climb into the cockpit.

F1 2021 is a great racing simulator. It offers a plethora of personal vehicle customization that opens up a lot to play around with. It’s a game where the racing mechanics are rather in-depth. However, if you’re not already a fan of Formula One to begin with then it can take some effort to get used to what this game offers.
