Kena: Bridge of Spirits Reviews
That said, I found Kena: Bridge of Spirits to be one of the best treats of the year, both for the eyes and for the soul. Not only does it show elaborate craftsmanship, but it also feels like it was infused with joy and awareness. I'm happy it's here, and I look forward to seeing where Kena's bridge can lead.
Although Kena doesn't have mechanics or mind-boggling gameplay that we've never seen before, it's a production you'll enjoy a lot of time with.

A good first attempt by a studio that has only worked on animation, but not enough substance in the gameplay to keep you hooked to the very end.
An enjoyable old-school 3D-platformer that looks great and doesn't have annoying issues of its predecessors of old, like outdated mechanics or janky gameplay.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a title of high artistic value, but one that stumbles in gameplay. It's got charming characters and setting, a decent story and great looking cutscenes, but actually playing through the experience is largely underwhelming.
Ember Lab deliveries a unique experience with stunning artwork and epic gameplay.

An amazing adventure in a magical world with an extremely nice heroine. A title whose completion brings great satisfaction.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a great game. Beautiful graphics, good gameplay and interesting mechanics. It has some minor problems, but nothing that affects the whole title.

Ember Lab's very first project is a beautiful adventure set in an even more beautiful universe, and while it's borrowing a lot of its core components from different games of the genre, it still feels fresh and stands on its own. The future surely seems bright both for the franchise and its developer.

After playing a couple of great AAA 3D platformers earlier this year, I'm absolutely blown away that I enjoyed Kena: Bridge of Spirits even more. With thoroughly challenging fast-paced combat, rewarding puzzles, and a breathtaking world; it's one phenomenal game.
As the debut title from a team new to the video game industry, Kena: Bridge of Spirits drew inspiration from wherever it could—though that doesn’t necessarily mean the game has nothing new to offer. Its breathtaking world will entice not only younger players to explore, but also offers challenges and obstacles worthy of even the most experienced gamers. Don’t be put off by the slow start; just be patient and get through the first third of the game, because after that, you’ll finally get some momentum. There’s no shortage of things I could criticize about the game, but the incredibly strong positives still outweigh them, making it impossible to give Kena: Bridge of Spirits a bad review.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits on the Switch 2 is a total cracker despite the few technical niggles and fiddly controls. Its presentation and general atmosphere are that of a Disney film in many ways, and I lost so much time to the game as I just got absorbed all over again. Despite finishing it before, I can never say no to another run through. It’s a vibrant, engaging adventure that looks and plays brilliantly on the new hardware. If you want to see the land restore life and colour while playing with your customisable Rot squad, this is a must-play. Just be prepared for a slow start and some awkward camera moments when the action gets heavy.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits is an excellent game that is perfectly enjoyable on Nintendo Switch 2. Despite a lower resolution and framerate than on PS5 or Xbox Series X, I thoroughly enjoyed getting to revisit the world, characters, and battles of Kena’s debut journey. If you’ve never played Kena before and would like to experience the magic before Scars of Kosmora drops, this is a fitting entry point. That said, if you do own any other modern platform, I highly recommend playing elsewhere — if only to enjoy Ember Lab’s work at its utmost beauty.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits does everything right: the game feels like it was developed by a team that cares about polishing and delivering the product, and that's really cool, something that can be felt in all the main elements of the game.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a good action-adventure game with beautiful settings and creative enemies, but it has a high difficulty level. The game has very good graphics for the Nintendo Switch 2, but it does suffer from some drops in resolution and text; even so, it’s a game worth experiencing on Nintendo’s hybrid console.

The release of *Kena: Bridge of Spirits* on Nintendo Switch 2 comes with some caveats, and of course, Ember Lab is not necessarily to blame for them.
