Capcom Fighting Collection is a must-buy title for fans of 2D fighting games or the arcade experience. It will keep you busy for a long time with so many games and challenges to complete!
Much like the Street Fighter collection before it, Capcom Fighting Collection is a truly stand-out effort to preserve not only the games that were included in the collection, but the artistry and stories behind them. You don’t even need to be a fan of the fighting genre to appreciate just how valuable this approach is to retro compilations… and the unfortunate downside to this effort is that it makes every other retro compilation seem so pedestrian by comparison.
Repetition aside, Capcom Fighting Collection acts as a great companion piece to the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, bringing out all of the other non-licensed fighting games the company has done over the years to a variety of platforms. The overall selection is solid with a bevy of presentation options, while the extras feel comprehensive if you aren't looking for movies or the histories behind the games. The online play performs well thus far, so fans of 2D fighting games will be happy.
Capcom Fighting Collection presents a slightly bemusing package, given that half of the content is Darkstalkers and seven of these titles are in the two Capcom Arcade Stadium games. Cyberbots feels oddly out of place with its mecha-style gameplay, as does Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, but that's hardly a complaint; it just feels like the overall product could have been bolstered by more of Capcom's rich fighting game history, of which there is plenty to choose from. This is a great way to dive into the fan favourite Darkstalkers franchise, in particular, though, and seeing games previously exclusive to arcades, like Red Earth, make their way to consoles for the first time is a pleasure.
The Capcom Fighting Collection is a fun and competitive package that offers some curiosities abroad the genre, although it is far from being the definitive collection. However, this many Darkstalkers games probably left out some other classics.

An eclectic selection, even if Alpha 3 Upper is missed, and contains some games that were heretofore exclusive to arcades and/or Japan, presented in a supremely polished fashion. A must have for any fan of Capcom's fighting glory.

For those who love arcade fighters, the Capcom Fighting Collection offers a treasure trove of glorious nostalgia
The Capcom Fighting Collection has some of the greatest CPS2 and CPS3 titles ever to be released, but this barebones package leaves something to be desired. It’s the best legit way to play these games, but don’t be surprised if it leaves you wanting more – unless you like Darkstalkers.
Whether you’re a fighting game fan who remembers some of these classics from yesteryear, or someone new to the genre who’s open to digging into some past treasures, Capcom Fighting Collection is well worth picking up. Sure, it’s fairly Darkstalkers-heavy, and the lack of cross-platform play is unfortunate, but the hours of fun that can be had from this collection far outweigh such disappointments. Capcom has once again plundered its extensive back catalogue and come up with the goods.
Capcom Fighting Collection is a good collection of fighting games, offering a little bit of everything. It's pretty basic, offering what you'd expect and nothing more. It is more aimed at fans of Darkstalkers or those who want to know games like Red Earth. The simultaneous matchmaking for more than one online game deserves praise, however. The launch price, on the other hand, can be an issue.

Capcom Fighting Collection features a solid collection of games; particularly, when it comes to Darkstalkers. That's actually its main issue because it could use a lot more variety but considering the package is as fun and sleek as it is, I still recommend giving it a go.
Considering the fact that I originally bought my SNES expressly to play Street Fighter II at home against my friends (yeah, Super Mario World and the like were games I'd "get to"), Capcom's fighters over the years have consumed a fair amount of my time and robbed me of a fortune in quarters...

Capcom Fighting Collection is the best way to play many of these classic arcade titles as there have been enough adjustments to each title and adjustments to the ease of playing each one that it marks this collection as the best one of these re-release packages yet. It's a great step in the right direction for the future of collections of this ilk, and a great first collection for fans who might have never checked out one of these before. There are some repeats, but the new additions make up for it.
Capcom Fighting Collection is actually a sort of homage to the Darkstalkers legacy, although it doesn't forget other franchises. If you know what you're going for, you'll find yourself with a compilation that can be molded to your liking.

My final thought is that the Capcom Fighting Collection does what it does in catering to the needs of retro gaming fans. It has a great little selection of games. Even if most of them are from the same series. It’s great for passing a couple of hours away solo or playing with some friends but it just feels like the same old collections that Capcom have released in the past.
Capcom Fighting Collection is a fantastic value for those who enjoy fighting games and want to play some of the best to ever come out. There’s traditional titles like Darkstalkers and Street Fighter, some unique takes on the genre with Cyberbots and Red Earth and even a fighting themed puzzle game squeezed in there for good measure. It’s perhaps a bit Darkstalkers heavy for some, but I appreciated the mix of familiar titles and games I had never played before.
The Capcom Fighting Collection faithfully brings some retro and classic games to a modern era, with much-needed contemporary mechanics and qualities. Capcom has crafted an incredible collection of titles here that is sure to surprise you. While it’s still unclear how the online functionality will fair once more players buy into the game, I’m happy to say the Capcom Fighting Collection lands every punch it throws.
In the past, Capcom has tried to bring their lesser-known titles to modern consoles but with little success. This latest attempt which was announced alongside the reveal of ‘Street Fighter 6’, has been its best yet. Hopefully, if this compilation sells well, it’ll encourage them to think of some possible sequels or even make a second compilation with all their 3D fighters. Until then, there is so much to enjoy and appreciate in Capcom Fighting Collection.
