Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a great action RPG with an outstanding story. The characters are likeable with engaging arcs, while the cut scenes offer jaw-dropping spectacle.

This review might seem short, especially for such a gigantic game. There’s just so much I can’t disclose. Bits of the combat and the mechanics of course, but mainly the story. It’s just much better if you experience these things yourself. I will say that this story manages to be both relatable and enormous. You want – almost desperately – to see how this thing shakes out. I wish the combat wasn’t so sluggish at times. It almost obstructs the narrative, having to wade through these disconnected battles. But the quest system is engaging, and the battles do eventually make sense. The writing is great, and the voice acting is getting better with every game. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a gigantic, epic adventure. It’s also bloated, hyperactive, and easily distracted. It’s beautiful but flat, it’s weird yet familiar. If you’re looking for a massive new JRPG, the latest Xenoblade game is here for you.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is an amazing entry into the already wonderful series. It reaches a new standard of storytelling, combat and customisation within the Xeno series There are a few technical mishaps here and there but not enough to dampen the overall experience. JRPG fans can’t miss this stellar adventure that’s one for the ages.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 can take some meandering detours across its massive 150-hour campaign, but great characters and addictive tactical combat make it all well worth the time.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a great RPG, and arguably the best title in the series to date. It could still use some editing, and the problems with the Switch itself will continue to hold the franchise back. But even those issues can't put a damper on the captivating combat engine and dynamic storytelling featured here.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is yet another great game within the franchise, boasting an interesting world filled with tons of side content and an incredible combat system, although a flawed story holds it back from being the series best entry so far.

‎While Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is by no means mom's prettiest, it can't be denied that Monolith Soft has delivered one of the best RPGs on the Switch. With countless hours of missions and a juicy story that constantly begs you to keep playing, you're glued to your Switch. There is some lamentation based on the first hours that keep serving tutorials and cutscenes, but we have to swallow them.‎

Small foibles aside, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 might just be the Switch’s prettiest and grandest game of 2022. With a deep combat system and surprisingly effective story, along with quality of life improvements over the prior game, it’s a true spectacle whether you’re playing in handheld mode or docked. It really is a must-buy for JRPG fans.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 once again proved why the series is one of the best JRPGs out there. While inheriting the strengths of its predecessors and converge them into its own uniqueness, it also did not put aside the original elements. However, somewhat boring sequence and endless TIPs at the beginning make the game hard to immerse yourself.

It would be too much to say that "Xenoblade Chronicles 3" revolutionizes the series. Despite numerous innovations, especially in character development and combat system, developer Monolith Soft has the fans of the series firmly in view and does not dare any risky experiments. While fans can strike without hesitation, those players who were less fond of the combat system in the predecessors should also get their money's worth. Although the core of the system still works very similarly, Ouroboros shape, chain attacks, fusion skills, class system or even just the now up to seven-person party improve the game feeling enormously. In addition to the clearly improved game balance, it is noteworthy, especially with regard to the latter, that "Xenoblade Chronicles 3" does not clean up the occasional overview problems in combat, but also does not reinforce them. The bottom line is that "Xenoblade Chronicles 3" is not enough to become a JRPG masterpiece, but within a strong series at least for the best part so far.

Brilliant action role-playing game with a bombastic, but also excessive film part. The insane number of possibilities in battle can be overwhelming.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the epitome of the experience Monolith Soft has gathered over these hectic years on Nintendo Switch, for better or worse. We have finally managed to achieve a technically more than presentable title that at the same time features a peculiar but effective combat system.

Monolith Soft and Nintendo once again bring one of the best JRPG games of this year to their hybrid console. Both the story and the combat experience are excellent, all wrapped up in an outstanding soundtrack that accompanies you from the beginning to the end of the adventure. To put it boldly, this is a must play for any JRPG fan!

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a solid entry in the series that, while not exactly reformulating, manages to evolve in essential points. The player is given a revealing experience that manages to evoke essential questions of our condition as human beings. While it doesn’t end as well as it starts, that doesn’t ultimately change how much I love Xenoblade Chronicles 3. With fantastic characters, deep combat, and an enormous world to explore, it was more than worth pushing through those final hours to see the ending to one of my favorite RPGs in years. Monolith Soft have the Xenoblade series back on the right path, and I can’t wait to see where they go next. I just hope next time they have the confidence to end their game when it’s ready to end.
