Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a very welcome remake that successfully brings the original game's content to our day while treating it to a visual overhaul, a very fun gameplay experience (including on multiplayer) and new game modes that make this a longer and more captivating game. Another great addition to the Kirby universe and yet one more welcome contribution to the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a fantastic remake of an already great game. Even if it isn't too hard or have a long duration, the game does have a lot of content in extra modes and more to keep the player engaged for a longer period even after finishing the main campaign.

Despite the gameplay tweaks, Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe feels more like a prettier Kirby-copy than a complete remake.
We knew very much what to expect from Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe, and it doesn't disappoint. Perhaps not the boldest Kirby title we've seen, especially on the Switch - but it's a chirpy, charming throwback that brings the core of what Kirby is all about to the Switch after the frustrating misstep that Star Allies proved itself to be. For fans of who Kirby is, what Kirby has been, and what Kirby may become, Return to Dreamland is potentially a precursor to a new, changing era of the pink puffball, and may very well be the last of its kind as Nintendo looks to the future of the series. It's good news, then, that it's such a rosy treat.
Almost a year after Kirby’s adventure in the Forgotten Land, Nintendo and HAL Laboratory go deep into their archive to bring over a Wii classic. Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe tells the tale of the mysterious Magolor. Magolor has crashed his ship on Planet Popstar. With crucial components missing, it’s up to Kirby, King Deedeedee, Meta Knight, and Bandana Waddledee to retrieve them and help the interdimensional being repair his vessel. Is it worth savouring this Wii classic? Find out in this rapid review.
If you played it on the Wii, you might not see much in this version to justify the $60, but if you missed it like I did, this is definitely the best way to experience an original Kirby game.

Nonetheless, even when the trappings are more traditional, as they are in Return to Dreamland Deluxe, Kirby is Kirby.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a charming remaster for the Nintendo Switch that puts a happy smile on anyone with its colourful visuals and cutesy presentation.
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe is further proof that no one treats their back catalogue with the same love and care as Nintendo. It’s the same classic platformer you fell in love with on Wii, but with better graphics, a smoother feel, and an absolute ton of new content and mechanics to make this near thirteen year old game feel fresher than a daisy. The pink puff cloud at its absolute best.
Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe is a welcome remaster of one Kirby’s better adventures and makes some smart additions to make the whole package more enjoyable. Letting everyone play as Kirby and use his copy abilities is fun and the addition of the new Magolor modes helps to bring some different gameplay to the mix.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe takes our pink puff out for another platforming romp. While it's not a completely new game, there's plenty of content on offer to make it a worthwhile purchase.
Even if some of the campaign's design choices are unfortunate, Kirby's Return to Dream Land is still fun 10 years after its original release. With a number of significant improvements and content additions that anyone who has played this platformer on Wii should be able to justify the purchase, the Switch version is a solid recommendation for all types of players and the best version of this adventure of the pink ball and the your friends. Still, this remake could have gone further in adding new features and correcting the title's biggest defects.

I played Kirby's Return to Dream Land on Wii at launch and over the years, it's never been a high-ranking game on my personal list of Kirby games. After playing through it on Switch, that's changed, though partially because of the smart updates and changes made in the new version. Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is the best 2D Kirby I've ever played, combining a lot of the side-scrolling entries' best elements into a heck of a total package that works as both a single-player adventure and a delightful co-op journey.

Though the original game doesn't quite reach the heights of the rest of the series, Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe is a great example of what remakes should be, with plenty of extra content and additions to please returning fans.
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a great time. The remake is faithful in the ways that count and adds enough new content to be well worth revisiting, even if that content isn’t universally brilliant. I could take or leave the theme park conceit, and I wish the Mecha ability was as good as Sand, but with an enjoyable epilogue campaign and a bunch of unlockable masks that I couldn’t stop thinking about, there’s no denying this is a remake that puts the work in to justify itself. I like it when things do that.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe turns a solid Wii platformer into a slightly better Nintendo Switch title. The extra copy abilities are fun to use, and Magolor's Epilogue is a good way to wrap up the story. However, the lack of challenge in the campaign is difficult to look past.
If you are looking for something to casually play on your own, or something for the family to play on a Sunday evening. Then consider Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe. Given that it’s a local co-op of course. If you enjoyed the original get ready for a nostalgia-infused ride into Dream Land.
