Tales of Symphonia Remastered Reviews
Tales of Symphonia Remastered allows a new generation of gamers to experience this classic. Overall, it is an excellent game, the cute graphics look gorgeous in HD, and the gripping story and lovable characters are mesmerising for returning and new fans alike.
If you overcome rough presentation, low-res cut-scenes and a bit clunky interface, you can expect very solid plot, excellent characters, party banter, interesting world and intense boss fights. Still, this title is not fully fulfilling remaster promise and many fans expected a bit more.

Tales of Symphonia Remastered tries to bring all the experience lived by the players in the past. However, the dated work fails to deliver what it promises and ends up serving only as an average game, without the true brilliance that the franchise has.

Tales of Symphonia Remaster is a low effort re-release thst could have brought a legendary title to the new generation by fixing the rough edges and add few quality of life changes, but sadly this release didn't contain any of that to the more than 20 years old game.

It's difficult to justify calling this new version a remaster at all since it includes all of the problems with the previous version while introducing entirely new problems on top of that. The bare minimum for a port of a retro game should be that you won't notice any technical problems if you haven't played the original, and Tales of Symphonia Remastered does not even clear that bar. It is playable; it's still Tales of Symphonia, but that is the absolute least we can ask of it, and that is the absolute most we've gotten from it.
Tales of Symphonia is a classic action JRPG that's as enjoyable as it's ever been as long as you can sit through the load times and weren't expecting the sequel to be in this package. It's a fan favourite for a reason and I'm thoroughly enjoying playing through it for a 3rd time.
Tales of Symphonia Remastered comes at an odd time. The excellent new version of Dead Space just came out and Metroid Prime Remastered showed how it can be done too. This remaster of a classic JRPG then comes with what seems like minimal energy to really improve the game. It all looks and sounds a bit better, but it doesn't change the fact that this is just a mediocre remaster of a game that deserves a lot more.

For newcomers, Tales of Symphonia Remastered is a great pickup but for veterans looking for more, you won't find anything new here sadly. If you are collector of the Tales games it will be worth adding to the collection.
Tales of Symphonia Remastered is an opportunity to experience one of the best JRPGs of all time. It's also an example of how not to re-release a classic from a previous generation, as this remaster is heavily affected by technical flaws and poor choices. Its downgrade in quality is clear for those who have played the original game, Tales of Symphonia Remastered should undergo an overall revision before being considered as a worthy companion to the 2004 classic.

The revered action RPG is back, and though visually this remaster works well, its style of play feels limited by modern standards
Tales of Symphonia remains a title that really appeals to all gamers who like to delve into worthy and full videogames, instead this year's remaster is aimed at a new audience without many demands in terms of audio-visual and usability and those who they want to tackle the title on modern consoles and PC.

I can see why Tales of Symphonia is considered a favorite in the series. Like other entries, it’s a solid experience with fun combat and a compelling story, but it shows its age in the modern gaming landscape. It doesn’t help that the remaster is quite a lackluster effort that could have made this outing much more worth it. Don’t get us wrong. Tales of Symphonia Remastered is not a terrible game by any stretch, and it does tick all the boxes of a fun and solid experience, but we’re saddened by the feeling that it does deserve much more than the remastering effort that we got. With so many games out on the market today, check this one out if you’re hankering for an old-school experience.

Tales of Symphonia Remastered is a decent remaster of a classic game, but it lacks innovation and new content. Despite noticeable flaws, it remains an enjoyable experience for those new to the game or looking to relive the original. Its strengths lie in its improved visuals, engaging story, and memorable cast of characters. However, in comparison to recent remasters, it falls slightly short.
For longtime fans, if you loved Tales of Symphonia and want to play it on a modern console - great. It’s still the classic JRPG you always loved. However, if you were looking for anything beyond a barebones remaster, you’ll be disappointed.
Tales of Symphonia is an all-time classic JRPG and arguably the best Tales Of game ever made. Ironically, Tales of Symphonia Remastered is easily one of the most disappointing remasters of all time. There are no significant improvements visually, audibly, or gameplay-wise that warrant buying this version. In fact, it’s worse than its original release in terms of framerate and stability. For a company that just put out one of the best remasters of the 2020s thus far with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R, it’s shocking that Bandai dropped the ball this hard. If this is what Tales Of fans have to look forward to in the future, it may be best to stop asking for remasters of other entries altogether.
Tales of Symphonia Remastered is a good game that had the misfortune of receiving a bad remastering, or rather “demastering”. Yes, it is possible to complete the title in its entirety on the console, however, it is not the best way to play, especially when there are other official distributions that are more affordable and, even with flaws, with fewer errors than this specific version.

Tales of Symphonia Remastered does what it set out to do—allow a classic JRPG to be playable on modern hardware. However, even then, this remaster falls short.
Tales of Symphonia is a game that once shone with its own light, but right now, time has taken its toll and not really in a good way, especially for those who may not have played it. It is a game that it has an entertaining story, good characters, albeit with clichés, and an extraordinary soundtrack. As a remaster I can't give it a thumbs up, as it's a half job that doesn't really shine, but at the end of the day if you want to play Symphonia, this is really the best version still.

This remaster brings a classic to modern platforms but loses a bit of Tales of Symphonia's charm in the process due to bugs and odd design choices.
