NBA 2K24 Reviews
Despite the abundant presence of microtransactions, NBA 2K24's gameplay remains extremely fun and engaging. The introduction of ProPLAY also represents a real addition of value to the series, opening new avenues for the future. Furthermore, the visual and sound sectors contribute to further improving the general experience of the title. Ultimately, NBA 2K24 continues to demonstrate why the series is a milestone in the world of sports gaming and once again offers a good quality title for basketball lovers.

NBA 2K24 offers an exceptional basketball gaming experience. It's great to see improved animations and gameplay, but the overall experience is hampered by tedious microtransactions that can hinder player progression and enjoyment. If you're not heavily invested in online play or MyTeam mode, you can easily stick with last year's edition. However, if you're willing to dive into the realm of microtransactions and intense online matches, don't hesitate to give NBA 2K24 a shot.

NBA 2K24 continues to do what it has done best in recent years – throwing in monetization elements everywhere. Even though it is an excellent basketball simulation, the need to spend extra money for smooth gameplay makes the game hard to recommend. The multiplayer game is just a big pay-to-win.

NBA 2K24 is the same game more or less than its many predecessors, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The gameplay remains solid with an emphasis on shooting, so it may take a bit to get used to the more delicate mechanics. The City is full of activities that you should not overlook and can be quick and easy ways to improve your player. MyNBA allows you to take control of a franchise in five different eras and new RPG elements add a layer to the general manager component. While NBA 2K24 does have a “pay to win” aspect to it, the upgraded Season Pass isn’t that important to where a casual player should feel pressured to purchase. If anything, NBA 2K24 is for die-hard NBA fans and gamers who plan on grinding the game well into the NBA season.
The first few hours of play on NBA 2K24 are very promising, especially with the changes to the gameplay, which offer a real sense of freshness and increased realism. The career mode is simpler, allowing players to focus on specific objectives without having to watch hours of cinematics. Even so, it's hard for me to rate it higher than the previous opus, with the additional addition of microtransactions and the lack of love for the mode featuring Kobe Bryant's career. It's a shame to almost have to pay again to play online. And let's not forget that, according to several comments, the PC version, which we weren't able to test, doesn't deliver the desired performance at all.

In the quest for gameplay excellence and the celebration of basketball history, NBA 2K24 teeters on the edge of brilliance. Yet, it's disheartening to see this potential masterpiece obscured by the dark cloud of microtransactions. As players, we must hope that future iterations of the game find a balance that preserves the joy of basketball gaming without placing an unfair financial burden on its fans.

NBA 2K24 could be the best basket simulator on the market, were it not for all that mentioned in the last few paragraphs. The game boasts stunning visuals, fluid gameplay, and an extensive list of game modes to keep players entertained for hours on end. If I enjoyed it, not being the biggest basketball fan in the world, I believe aficionados will delight.

NBA 2k24 provides a stellar game of on-the-court basketball. Its main issues haven’t changed in years: clumsy storytelling and some of the worst microtransactions in the business. At this point, everybody knows about them, and you have to make your peace with them or not. If you can look past that, NBA 2K24 is a slam dunk of an experience, even if the rest of the game does its best to keep it on the bench.
NBA 2K24 does not rest on its laurels when it comes to improving and refining the micro aspects of a gameplay that has now reached a level where it is engaging and fulfilling when played at high levels, while also being quite accessible to a more casual audience. Unfortunately, even with positive new proposals aimed at revamping the flagship MyTeam and MyCareer modes, the excessive presence of microtransactions overshadows the team's work.

Unfortunately, the NBA 2K series has long been on a path that no matter how great things it accomplishes on its virtual court, it's hard to celebrate. Every year the situation with microtransactions and its commercial identity either remains the same or worsens. And every year we say how bad it is that these tactics overshadow a truly remarkable basketball game. The same, Unfortunately, we will also say this year. NBA 2K24 is better than ever in terms of gameplay, full of options, can provide truly endless hours of fun, and is a well-crafted tribute to the great Kobe Bryant. And all these not insignificant achievements, he has managed, to take second place. Pity.

It's not the best entry into the franchise, but most certainly not the worst, but NBA 2K24 may be reaching far beyond downtown, and undoubtedly missing after the final buzzer.
NBA 2K24 may still look gorgeous and play amazing but everything else feels like a step back and is flat out exploitative at points, becoming a poster-child for microtransactions ruining games.
You know the drill at this point: NBA 2K24 is just like its predecessors, in both the good and bad ways. It still looks impressive and has great controls, but it is also plastered with convoluted menus and a ridiculous amount of ads and microtransactions. What can I even add at this point which hasn’t been said in my previous five reviews of NBA 2K iterations? It’s good as an arcade experience, it’s frustrating elsewhere, and you know for a fact nothing will change because there is no need to innovate when you don’t have to deal with competitors.
There’s still a lot of good basketball in NBA 2K24 but it mostly feels buried in modes the developers are trying hard to keep new players from discovering. The series’ formerly rock-solid gameplay foundation feels like it’s slowly slipping away as well. Minor improvements around the edges don’t offset this slippage and the series’ continued descent into being nearly unplayable without spending a fortune on microtransactions. If you’re a series veteran who is willing to spend the vast amounts of money needed to compete online, you already know you’re buying this. The same is true of long-time series veterans who know where to find the best parts of the game even when they’re hidden away. With all its issues, though, it’s hard to recommend NBA 2K24 to anyone else.
If the reader is looking for casual fun, NBA 2K24 is a good option. There are many modes to play the game, with many different customization, teams and challenge options. However, if your focus is competitive matches, it's necessary to pay attention to your connection and the wallet. Maybe if the visual production was cutting-edge, we would have more reasons to overlook these issues but unfortunately it ends up as a suggestion only for fans of the basketball franchise and sports games in general.

I do not think this year’s story in career mode has been as good as previous years. And for me, that is a big letdown. However, I cannot deny that the team behind NBA 2K24 has listened to the community. With improvements such as those seen in MyTeam and the introduction of ProPlay being highlights of this newest installment.
NBA 2K24’s introduction of the ProPLAY and Crossplay systems are simply the future of the NBA 2K series. Along with the abundance of enhancements and improvements to furnish the most authentic basketball experience ever. On the other hand, microtransactions have become increasingly problematic, and one would wonder how much damage they could have on the franchise. It’s like one step forward and two steps backward. NBA 2K24 ultimately became a promising young NBA talent that never reached its full potential.
Although NBA 2K24 may be a slam dunk in many respects, it is not a radical departure from its predecessor, NBA 2K23, in terms of the overall gameplay experience. The same NBA teams will be featured in the game, and the gameplay will not undergo any significant changes. It is safe to assume that if you are a fan of the franchise, you will find a lot to appreciate here. There is a lot to love about this installment. The inclusion of Pro Play Mamba moments, along with the ongoing development of my career, contribute to the fascinating nature of the title.
NBA 2K24 brings back the excellent on-court experience the series has accustomed us to, with major improvements in player animations thanks to the new ProPLAY technology. There is, however, a need for stronger new features and, above all, it is plagued by obnoxious microtransactions even in modes that shouldn't have them, such as MyCareer.
