The poor performance hinders the core gameplay too much for the Xbox One edition to be anything more than the worst version of an otherwise great game.

Enter the Gungeon is another in a long line of fantastic roguelikes. Its razor sharp twin-stick gunplay, huge variety of passive and active weapons, and clever world building make it an absolute joy to sink countless hours into. The lack of leaderboards or a daily run mode is a frustrating oversight, but you'll be too busy running, gunning, and dodge-rolling your way through its many caverns to notice or care.

Guns, bullets, co-op, mayhem, action, humor, colorful, zany, challenging, death, and fun. These are the key words I'd use to describe my time with Enter the Gungeon and I can't wait to play more.

Enter the Gungeon is an exhilarating experience, but the difficulty often comes from the game refusing to provide you the necessary tools, which offers its own unique challenges.

Don't sleep on this game, it mixes the old with the new for a quality package worth shelling out the bullets for.

Enter the Gungeon is one of those "your mileage may vary" indie games. The pixel art is deliciously good and the gameplay mechanics are rock solid, but trying to mix a brutally hard roguelike with a loot-chaser collectathon seems counter-intuitive. If you can stomach the game's unforgiving challenge then there is a lot to love here, but expect to tear your hair out when the game kills you and you lose your meticulously sorted gun collection.

Quirky, funny, demanding, and requiring an awful lot of skill: Enter the Gungeon is one of the best action-roguelites in years.

Enter The Gungeon is a brilliantly tactile, endlessly replayable twin-stick roguelike that sits right up there with the very best indie games on Nintendo Switch. With satisfying combat, random levels, and an endless supply of inventive weapons, items and secrets, it's always a total joy to play. Yet another modern indie classic has found a natural home on Nintendo's console.

It won't have the most innovative gameplay, but Enter the Gungeon is entertaining and inspired. Mixing the mechanics of Nuclear Throne with some "bullet hell" action, it delivers a solid roguelike experience, with a ton of unconventional weapons to have fun with.

Enter the Gungeon is an incredibly addicting indie game that will keep you coming back for more. It goes to great lengths to improve on the rogue-like genre, fixing flaws and tightening balance, all with a tongue-in-cheek presentation that can't help but make you smile… if you like shooting things, that is.

Dodge Roll has created an excellent game with Enter The Gungeon. It's extremely difficult, but equally rewarding.

Enter the Gungeon is one of the most polished games I've ever played, especially considering the multitude of items that are available. Just when I thought that the rogue-like genre had been done to death, this game comes along and completely turns me around. I'm not sure I'll ever master the Gungeon, but I'm not sure if I'll ever want to leave, either.
