Monster Hunter Wilds Reviews
Monster Hunter Wilds doesn't revolutionize the series. In fact, it takes what it does best and makes it more accessible. Battles are fun, and so are encounters. Getting support, whether from strangers, friends or NPCs, has never been easier. Despite all this, the game suffers from problems that don't place it among the best in the franchise. The game is much shorter than we're used to, and sound problems are recurrent. But that doesn't stop me from having a lot of fun with Monster Hunter Wilds. And so should you. It's hunting time!

Monster Hunter Wilds is a worthy addition to the franchise that blends the best elements of its predecessors and perfects them. Whether you are a seasoned hunter or someone who is just getting into the series, Wilds offers a rich immersive experience that is hard to put down.
Capcom hit the mark once again with Monster Hunter Wilds giving us just enough new stuff to spice things up while keeping the same Monster Hunter formula the franchise was famous for all these years.
With its captivating gameplay and cinematic grandeur, Monster Hunter Wilds is a must-play journey into a world where every hunt is your story.
Monster Hunter Wilds improves on the series by introducing many welcome new features that pave the way for new gameplay strategies, reaching gameplay peaks that have never been so high, while the environments and new monsters are also decidedly fascinating. Despite a graphics engine that fails to properly support the game world and a drop in difficulty that might make purists turn their noses up at it, we are faced with an excellent and enjoyable title, recommended both to newbies and lovers of the franchise.

Monster Hunter Wilds proves to be an ambitious evolution that aims to redefine the standards of the series, and the revolution implemented in worldbuilding and progression makes the title more immersive than ever, also thanks to the changes made to the gameplay. However, it is not without criticism, which we hope will reach the development team so that they can remedy it, as we have been used to. We are facing the present of the series, which draws on the past to create a point of reference that will dictate the future standards of the saga, and we cannot help but be curious to know what else Capcom has in store for us in the upcoming Title Updates.

‘Monster Hunter Wilds’ is one of the best games in the franchise to date. Excellent combat that has never felt better, thanks to the ability to aim attacks. A plethora of quality of life adjustments making the game more accessible for new players and more convenient for veterans. The new assortment of monsters are both originally designed and fun to fight. It’s narrative feels like a retread, but it’s rewarding end game will keep you engaged. Performance is questionable and sadly does effect the otherwise brilliant experience.
Monster Hunter Wilds is imperfect, but that's okay, because it still manages to shine and offer an outstanding game. With a combat that is even better than its predecessors, with bold and interesting proposals, a campaign that is fun to follow and with exuberant monsters on the screen, it is ideal for both diehard fans and newcomers alike. But, as said, it is imperfect, since it has considerable performance issues and there is still a lot of room for improvement and refinement of its systems.

Monster Hunter Wilds revitalizes its followers' faith by creating an engaging and thrilling game world. While not perfect, the fun and adrenaline it provides are comparable to few other titles. If you're on the fence about buying it, we highly encourage you to try it. Join the 8+ million people who have already purchased the game in its first weeks of release, and get ready to spend countless hours hunting monsters and mastering the (exhausting and numerous) game menus. It may not be the most pleasant experience, but it will be worth it.

Monster Hunter Wilds brings a breath of fresh air to the Monster Hunter universe. The game stays true to the formula, but introduces exciting new ideas and mechanics that deepen and expand the gameplay experience. In particular, the open world and dynamic ecosystem bring a new excitement to hunts, while the expanded team interactions add depth to battles. With its many quality-of-life features, it allows new players a good introduction to the series without robbing the series of its core mechanics. However, there are also a few stumbling blocks. The open world can sometimes feel a little too empty if players are not familiar with the new mechanics. And performance is currently the biggest point of criticism. Nevertheless, Monster Hunter Wilds is a successful evolution of the series that will captivate old fans and newcomers alike. Anyone who loves hunting is guaranteed to have fun with this new chapter.

Monster Hunter Wilds is the definitive Open-World Monster Hunter experience. Where Rise feels a more traditional game that fans of the classics will appreciate more, Wilds truly opens the door to everybody and continues to build on the success of World. From the grand, epic battles that leave a lasting impression, to a surprising story that compels, an enjoyable abundance of quests and items to find and combat variety unlike anything else out there. Monster Hunter Wilds is just starting life as the game you’ll keep coming back to in 2025 and once more establishes Capcom as the most consistent, reliable, and high-quality AAA publisher in the world today.
Monster Hunter Wilds is worth every penny. The game offers countless hours of fun, a challenging post-game, new, even more powerful monsters, and an improved multiplayer mode.

I’d love to talk about and gush over all of the cool aspects of Wilds, but for a review, there’s largely no point because the overbearing streamlining, hand-holding, and dumbing down of the game completely ruins those cool aspects for me. Anything positive thing I could say would have a hundred caveats waiting in the wings. For the first time, I have a new entry in one of my favorite video game series, and I have absolutely no desire to play it.
Overall, Monster Hunter Wilds is arguably one of the best titles within the franchise in terms of story, combat, locations, enemies, and even characters, as it blends all of these aspects into one fantastic creation that tells an amazing story that ends in one of the most satisfying ways possible, putting many of the other Monster Hunter titles to shame.
Monster Hunter Wilds represents a modest yet logical evolution of the series, serving as an excellent entry point for new players with its robust, accessible, and relatively short campaign. However, it risks being "enough" for many, becoming a barrier to its true form in the post-game.

With the bugs already mentioned out of the way, my thoughts. The new Focus Mode in Monster Hunter Wilds makes combat a little easier for taking down monsters. I mainly used it to help fill my extract gauge for my Insect Glaive while fighting, since I usually use the Great Sword. Combat itself reacts well and monsters reacting to hits/parts breaking off provide great indicators for when monsters are near death. One minor issue I had with Monster Hunter Worlds was going back to camp to get a mission, then heading back out. This is different with Wilds as I can now return to camp on foot (if close by) and simply walk/ride back out to gather materials and fight monsters. Making the flow of the game much more enjoyable. The story itself was boring and honestly, I wasn’t really a fan of the characters besides one. And that was Rove the WudWud. He was just such a chill and funny little creature. Some fights feel a little unfair at times. But for someone who’s played the franchise longer, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a walk in the park. Hopefully, over time, the game does get more optimised for those who are having the issues. But if you’re like me, who loves seeing a variety of beasts and what they can do? Or is simply looking for a fun cooperative game which isn’t a competitive shooter, I’d highly recommend picking this game up. That’s why I’m awarding it the Thumb Culture Platinum Award.
Monster Hunter Wilds introduces new mechanics while sticking true to the addictive gameplay loop, making this new addition just as entertaining as fans could hope for even if its storyline is lacking.
Monster Hunter Wilds is a great addition to the franchise while remaining accessible to new players. With a high learning curve it promises to keep you busy for hundreds of hours.
