Rogue Flight Reviews
Players looking for a sci-fi retro shooter experience with a bit of modernization will no doubt enjoy Rogue Flight out of the box. The replayability comes into question as it comes off more grindy than an arcade shooter or the unlockable roguelike mode should. The visuals and the experience along with the voice acting are superb, while the soundtrack is fantastic and most fans of this genre will enjoy the music alone. The steep PC requirements for an indie title may hurt this in the end, though.
Rogue Flight is a good entry into the genre and one that is enjoyable but has a feeling something is slightly missing.
With a simple but well-implemented graphic and playable scheme, Rogue Flight is a safe bet for every lover of classic shooters. Of course, keep your reflexes oiled.

Every inch of Rogue Flight gleams with style. An obvious passion project like this is filled with delightful little details. Playing Rogue Flight is a joy. I’m an easy mark, the second I see something with wings loaded into a tube, I’m already in. And the sky isn’t crowded with a lot of options. Rogue Flight zooms past expectations into a cool, scrappy game.
Rogue Flight is a fast-paced and adrenaline-filled rail shooter. The plot and structure of the campaign are good, the latter with five difficulty levels to allow anyone to enjoy it, regardless of their skills. The only let downs is that the roguelite mode is only sketched out and that there is an exaggerated presence of visual effects that are too shiny and annoying.

As an arcade rail shooter, Rogue Flight hits all of its marks. It doesn't aim for anything outside of the norm, but that allows it to focus entirely on its frenetic gameplay and anime setup/presentation. Players of all skill levels will be able to hop in and enjoy.
Rogue Flight is a well-made, perfectly-priced arcade-style 3D space action shooter that serves as an open love letter to 80's and 90's anime/shmup era fans, offering plenty nostalgia, throwback references and many hours of replay value.
Ultimately, Rogue Flight is a love letter to retro anime and manages to impress with its story and voice work. The combat is a bit too hectic to be considered strategic, but conversely that makes it an easier game to pick up.
ROGUE FLIGHT is the perfect love letter to classic space shooters with a modern touch. A brilliant soundtrack, numerous customisation options, and plenty of ways to play, there's a little something for everyone here.
You may find that the difficulty curve isn't quite harsh enough on normal difficulty but with five different difficulty levels this is easily adjusted for. Modes unlocked later in the game will also give you a run for your money. This is a remarkable rail-shooter with a deep understanding of its inspiration, while also offering a fresh experience. If you enjoy Star Fox, Galaxy Force, Space Harrier, or After Burner, you will find something to love in Rogue Flight.
With awesome gameplay and the best DualSense utilisation I've ever experienced, Rogue Flight is one excellent 3D arcade shooter. 🛩️
Rogue Flight is an on-rail space shooter that perfectly combines elements and playable mechanics from classic titles like Starfox or Space Harrier, with multiple options and features from more current titles, all wrapped in a retro anime aesthetic from the 80s and 90 that will remind us of titles like Macross, and that really gives the game quite a bit of packaging. Despite having room for improvement, especially technically and at the level of optimization, Rogue Flight will more than satisfy fans of the genre.

Rogue Flight is the most classic of love letters. Truant Pixel's dedication is toward the rail shooters that so raged at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s. However, the end result proved to be much more concrete than a simple nostalgia operation. As frenetic as it is explosive but always and consistently galvanizing, Nadia's adventure is a little gem of game design thanks in part to an art department that pays homage to great classics of Japanese animation. Let yourself be enraptured by the pure arcade experience: it's worth it.

Rogue Flight is a bold take on the shmup genre, blending classic high-intensity space shooter gameplay with a narrative that raises the stakes for every mission. Players will pilot the Arrow, a powerful yet occasionally hard-to-control ship, through challenging stages that feature branching paths, customizable upgrades, and relentless enemy swarms. Though some boss encounters can be frustrating due to tight positioning and unclear weapon stats, the game’s anime-inspired visuals and deep replayability make each victory all the more rewarding.
Rogue Flight represents a well-blended mix of old and new, combining the charm of old arcade games and the appeal of classic anime with more recent technical and gameplay elements. Without a doubt, we recommend Truant Pixel's work both to die-hard fans of on-rails shooters and to those looking for something different that can entertain and amuse.

With strong inspiration from classic anime of the 1980s and 1990s, yet with a solid identity of its own, Rogue Flight is determined to wow you with its exciting gameplay, amazing art, and incredible soundtrack, and I reckon it won’t be very hard for it to do so.
From big smiles to rage-filled shouts of confusion, I can't stress enough how much fun I had with this game. Those who like arcade shooters, rail shooters, shmups, and anime, should undoubtedly check out Rogue Flight.
Rogue Flight convinces, albeit with some technical imperfections. Truant Pixel wanted to give users an old-school title that thrills players like it used to, and we must say that it has succeeded.

Even though it's a bit disappointing for not standing out in its story and its elements of the genre it's part of, there's still a lot to appreciate in Rogue Flight. Very responsive and challenging combat, vast customizations, and quite fun unlockable game modes. Even with little room for development, Nadia and the supporting characters have charisma and the weight of what's in the game is well communicated to the player. A recommended experience for more casual fun focused on its great gameplay.
