The game especially shines for its level design, its original take on the open world, its faithfulness to the source material, and the way it manages to make you really feel in the shoes of the legendary archaeologist. In short, whether you are a longtime fan of the IP or simply looking for a good adventure, Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle is a game worth playing.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is one of the best adventure games of the year. It captures the atmosphere of the movies, using Indy tricks is a blast. Whilst the game isn’t perfect, it does have a few quirks like borderline bulletproof enemies, Troy Baker, and some unnecessary brief sequences of gameplay, it doesn’t deter the whole experience. I’m not going to lie, but I believe featuring third person perspective would’ve added to the fun. Either way, don’t miss it, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is great banger to end the year on.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle pleasantly surprised me. The choice of a first-person camera, which initially made me skeptical, turned out to be a brilliant decision, delivering a unique and memorable experience. The story is captivating, the graphics are stunning, and the gameplay is enjoyable. Despite some technical issues and the simplicity of the stealth mechanics, the experience is solid and well worth playing. A game worthy of the big screen, it stands out as one of the highlights of 2024 and marks a strong step in the right direction for Xbox.

From the opening notes of the Indy theme, I was transported to the realm of one of my favourite fictional characters of all time and that is the Great Circle’s greatest achievement in my eyes. If you long for the days of the classic Indy movies (and want to forget the last two), this is the sequel for you, it just happens to be a video game.
Minor complaints aside, I did go in expecting Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to be a good game, as Machine games has always been a solid developer but the game ended up exceeding my expectations. It blends its various gameplay styles together quite well, has an enjoyable story with a great cast of characters that finally gives Indiana Jones his definitive game without ironically being a carbon copy of the two gaming franchises he inspired heavily.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle does to Indiana Jones, what the PlayStation’s Spider-Man games did for Spider-Man, and what the early Arkham games did for Batman. My biggest worry was that MachineGames would try and replicate Uncharted, and it thankfully does not, nor does it need to. This game is a near-perfect love letter to any Indiana Jones fan. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle offers easy-to-pick-up gameplay, an engaging story, and sensational performances that will keep you busy for hours and unlock that inner explorer in you.

While its AI and stealth mechanics occasionally falter, the game excels in capturing the magic of the films, delivering top-tier voice acting, engaging side quests and a well-optimized PC experience.

Add to that an atmosphere that could be a digital archaeologist's dream come true, and you get a remarkable game — though one weighed down by action that remains merely functional. It's one of those titles that, despite not being perfect, will leave most fans with a smile on their faces.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a fascinating action adventure that transports you instantly to the world of Indiana Jones. Though the gameplay mechanics can be clunky at times, Indy has officially returned and regained his throne as the best action hero around!
Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle is a splendid adventure game, in which the spirit of the iconic archaeologist played by Harrison Ford emerges in all its splendour. A long but never exhausting adventure, even during some slightly more difficult puzzles, made of the same perfect ingredients that made the character great on film. The only pity is an artificial intelligence that spoils much of the immersiveness during the exploration phases, negatively affecting realism. Net of this, however, we are faced with the best Indiana Jones game since the still unreachable Fate of Atlantis.

Being Machine Games’ first crack at the licensed IP, they’ve certainly managed to live up to the expectations that fans hold on to for the series; I look forward to what might be a glory-filled future for both the studio and the franchise.
With its mostly poor AI and some minor bugs, Indiana Jones is not a perfect game. But beside its minor flaws and especially how the game breathes the essence of its iconic hero it is just one of the best action-adventures in the last few years and a must-have for everyone who loves Indy or the genre in general.
