Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Reviews
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is a middle ground between a remaster and a remake; the game is not overly aged and benefits from the many improvements resulting so and accessible. This does not mean that it is easier: the level of challenge is the same as in the classic version, and in general this re-release, appreciable by both fans of the saga and newcomers, offers a deep and exciting story.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition streamlines a lot of aspects of the original while providing an even more appealing visual aesthetic which truly makes it stand out as definitive indeed. It still has some baggage but fans and newcomers alike will find a lot to love here. đ€
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition remains an ambitious, fascinating work that still manages to inspire awe more than ten years after its original release. Mira continues to be a vivid, mysterious, and magnificent planet that invites exploration and offers a level of freedom still rare in modern JRPGs. The gameplay refinements and added content make this edition more accessible and complete, while the new Chapter 13 gives longtime fans a real reason to dive back into Monolith Softâs immense world. Itâs a shame, though, about the technical issues affecting the Switch 2 version and a paid upgrade policy that feels out of place compared to the more generous approach seen elsewhere. Still, despite these flaws, this remains a gem of design and imagination â a journey every JRPG enthusiast should experience at least once.

Unsurprisingly, Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is the best way to experience a JRPG classic. If you're not enthralled by the story, the game can feel like a bit of a drag, but even then, it's got a strong hook with its deep RPG mechanics and an ace up its sleeve that is mech combat and exploration, making the journey absolutely worthwhile.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition â Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is a decent upgrade that needs some tweaking.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is still a fantastic RPG, and the jump to 60fps on Switch 2 genuinely makes a huge difference. Sadly, the strange upscaling in handheld holds this version back from feeling truly definitive. Docked looks great, portable less so. With a patch, this could easily be fixed, but right now it feels like an upgrade with rough edges, and thatâs a shame for a game this iconic.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is a sprawling, deeply immersive experience that is familiar and comforting in its execution. Itâs vast and lush and only limited by the fact that so much was learned across the last 10 years as the Xenoblade series has matured and improved over time. I would absolutely recommend JRPG fans alike take a look. Itâs a really interesting spring board in the series, and with Switch 2 on its way this may well get some free enhancements to make it even prettier in the months ahead.
Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition isn't just a technical rescue of a lost title on a forgotten console; it's an affirmation of the enduring value of Monolith Soft's vision. By bringing this sci-fi epic back with the care and respect it deserves, the team not only redeems the limitations of the original version, but also amplifies its impact. With enhanced visuals, a revitalized soundtrack, substantial performance improvements, and a narrative addition that more satisfyingly ties up some of the story's loose ends, this remaster offers a more cohesive, engaging, and immersive experience. Above all, it's a renewed invitation to explore Mira with new eyes, with the certainty that, even after nearly ten years, the heart of this journey beats with the same force. For those who have already experienced this world, it's a thrilling return. For those just joining, it's the ideal opportunity to experience one of the most daring and atmospheric adventures in Nintendo history.

The enhancements brought to the Switch version smooth out many of the rough edges from the original release, and the added content gives even veterans a reason to return.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is the most ambitious open-world action-RPG the Wii U could have produced. We see that same aura of charm carried over to the definitive Switch version, with a portable mode that's graphically improved compared to its predecessor.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is an Adventure with a capital A, capable of making you feel like a true explorer of a wild planet among unknown species to interact with and breathtaking fights against primitive alien creatures. Although a particularly frustrating, slow and complex first half can initially cause disorientation, the second part of the title fully compensates with a much more fluid progression and a definitely more engaging combat system. And although the narrative has an uncertain pace, we still recommend without any hesitation that you climb aboard your favorite Skell to let yourself be captivated by this bold and unexpectedly deep sci-fi story.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition brings one of the best JRPGs of the 2010s to the modern era, with an expansive and detailed world to explore among some exceptional side quests and engaging combat.
For fans of the JRPG genre and those who skipped the Wii U version, this is a must-have addition to the backlog. For all other genre fans, this is a chance to experience a world that may have been forgotten but has now returned stronger than ever.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition has delivered the second chance that Monolith Softâs epic sci-fi RPG deserved to find a wider audience. With its deeply emotional storytelling and world-building, I still see Xenoblade Chronicles 3 as the pinnacle of what the developer has long worked to achieve but this unforgettable space opera is close behind it thanks to its astounding technical execution and thrill-inducing battle systems.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is just that - the definitive version of an outstanding game that few had the pleasure of experiencing upon its initial WiiU release.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition isn't a standout like Part 3 was. The game has too many unnecessary problems. Popping objects, a story that drags at the beginning, and a somewhat confusing menu are simply things that drag on the enjoyment of the game. However, this is offset by the fact that the game is ultimately fun. Mira is a fantastic world that rewards you for exploring it. The story eventually picks up, and the graphics are very good, aside from the aforementioned issues.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition stands as one of the most ambitious JRPGs ever created in terms of its world and content. While this scale comes at the expense of elements that once distinguished the series â particularly in storytelling and other areas â it still delivers an experience that no JRPG fan should miss. With this release, the Nintendo Switch becomes home to a legendary series whose level of ambition is rarely seen in today's market.
