FAIRY TAIL 2 Reviews
Gust and Koei Tecmo's Fairy Tail 2 does a great job of enveloping players in the story of the anime, even if its mechanics leave a bit to be desired.
Though it's an improvement on its predecessor, Fairy Tail 2 is still the epitome of a middle-of-the-road licensed game. It doesn't do anything exceptionally great or innovative, nor does it have any issues or shortcomings that significantly drag it down. Despite poor plot pacing, shallow mechanics, and some lacklustre performance, the lively combat system, rewarding exploration, and heartwarming character interactions ultimately make this one worthwhile. We'd recommend Fairy Tail 2 to franchise fans who played the previous RPG, though newcomers should be more wary of jumping straight in. It isn't a 'run out and buy it immediately' release, but you likely won't be disappointed if or when you do get around to it.
Fairy Tail 2 is a wonderful continuation of this RPG anime adaptation, with fast paced flashy combat and a gorgeous world to explore.
Although it still sins with the language problem, Fairy Tail 2 improves a lot over its previous installment by offering us a new combat system and a graphic quality that will undoubtedly excite anime lovers.

As it stands, fans of Mashima’s fantasy epic will still probably have a good time seeing this version of the story through (and checking out the new epilogue!), but Fairy Tail 2 doesn’t get any closer to must-play status than the previous game, and oddly enough for different reasons.
Fairy Tail 2 is a complex project; on the one hand, it encompasses the end of the anime while on the other hand it leaves multiple story arcs untouched. Nevertheless, it also provides original content through character interactions as well as a never before seen original storyline. Gameplay-wise, the reworked battle system helps, but in the end it becomes kind of repetitive after not that many hours. Overall, it is a videogame that will be appreciated specially by fans of the anime.

Fairy Tail 2 improves the combat system, now clearly more action, but it fails to create a playful structure without depth and with few positive sides within it. It is a rather compassionate adventure, which still manages to entertain but not to upset the cards on the table.

Fairy Tail 2 had the duty to unleash the great latent potential of the first episode, but unfortunately the developer missed the mark, making an overall inferior title to the previous one.

Fairy Tail 2 arrives at the finale of our favorite wizards' adventure with highlights and shortcomings alike. I recommend it to dedicated fans of the manga and anime, but this simply isn't a welcoming entry for potential new fans.
FAIRY TAIL 2 is JRPG-lite. The story and combat mechanics are both easy to take in and work through, but it will leave genre fans a bit hungry-especially if you're used to meatier adventures or have little knowledge of the Fairy Tail universe.
Solid simple action RPG mechanics, good music, likable characters, peak shonen anime storytelling if that’s your thing.
The final chapter in the Fairy Tail franchise, Fairy Tail 2, has arrived on consoles and PC.
Fairy Tail 2 was a fun and addicting time with great animations. It still suffers from choices made during the first game, but it is still a good time for Fairy Tail fans.
Fairy Tail 2 is a title that struggles to convey the genuine fun typical of the adventures born from Hiro Mashima's pen. Behind a combat system that is overall decent and enjoyable-particularly in small doses and during boss fights-lies a formulaic and at times fragile JRPG that fails to rise above mere mediocrity. A major disappointment, it is recommended only for die-hard Fairy Tail fans who might still be able to overlook its evident shortcomings.

If you are a lover of Fairy Tail and just want to relive the Fairy Tail final Arc, then it is worth picking up Fairy Tail 2 as it’s a fun JRPG.
A fantastic follow-up arc that keeps the magic alive in the FAIRY TAIL series
The long-and-short of Fairy Tail 2 is that it’s a perfectly competent JRPG by one of the true specialists of the genre. It’s not going to be remembered as Gust’s finest work, and is more of a play-and-forget experience. This is a year that has given us everything from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to Metaphor, a mind-blowingly good remake of Romancing SaGa 2 and, arguably, the finest Yakuza game yet with Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth. In comparison to all of that Fairy Tail’s by-the-numbers approach will seem routine. But it’s also got all the hallmarks we come to expect from Gust – this is comfort food gaming for JRPG enthusiasts, using strong material well. Sometimes, that’s all you need.
A definite recommendation for Fairy Tail fans, Fairy Tail 2 has its issues, mainly with pacing, but the overall package is an enjoyable journey with a beloved cast of characters.
Fairy Tail 2 seems like a perfectly lovely RPG for fans of the franchise. It doesn't break any molds, and it leans heavily on fan service, but if all you want is a chance to play an RPG with your favorite cast members, it does the job. The over-the-top combat styling keeps things interesting in what would otherwise be a generic button-mashing experience, and there are enough RPG mechanics to provide the satisfaction of tricking out your favorite characters. It's not a game for people who are unfamiliar with the series, but Fairy Tail fans will be quite delighted by the experience.
Fairy Tail 2 is a good RPG that excellently adapts the events of the manga/anime's final arc. It is a full plate for fans with its good combat system and good representation of the characters, even if its technical limitations hinder the game's potential.
