Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 faithfully follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, and even with some omissions and additions compared to the original material, it remains accurate, addictive, and extremely fun not only for longtime fans, but also for the next generation of virtual skaters.

Thankfully, this collection still shines with addictive gameplay and a wealth of content that will keep you hooked for hours. Visual upgrades breathe new life into these classics for a modern audience. However, it's not without flaws: Pro Skater 4 strays a bit from its original design, some odd choices affect the overall experience, and the heavily altered soundtrack is a noticeable letdown.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is a must-have for fans of the series, offering yet more outrageous skateboarding antics along with stunning visuals. Purists might not like that the format of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 has been changed, and that most of the music here is new, but embrace these updates and you'll have a very good time indeed. Also, the new skateparks that have been introduced are fantastic.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is a fun and unique experience. On the one hand, we have a high-quality technical remake, exciting and addictive gameplay, and a decent amount of challenging and entertaining content that can captivate players for dozens of hours. The restoration of old stages and the addition of new maps have also been accompanied by satisfying subtlety. On the other hand, controversial decisions, such as the use of a time limit in Career and ignoring a large part of the series’ musical heritage, could spoil the experience for long-time fans. For those who connect with sports titles, this remake is a hugely entertaining product built on one of the best gameplay formulas in sports game history.

This version lands the trick mechanically, but it doesn’t bring the whole soul of the series with it. It’s a polished ride, but one that leaves a few scuff marks on the memory.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is another great entry in the series that's bound to prove popular on Xbox Game Pass and beyond. Developer Iron Galaxy has done an excellent job bringing these legendary maps into the modern era, and the gameplay feels just as good as it did in THPS 1+2. The structural changes to the fourth game along with the significantly altered soundtrack may irk some people, but there's still a ton of fun to be had overall - and now we're just hoping Tony Hawk's Underground 1+2 becomes a reality!

Overall, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is an absolutely fun title if your main exposure to the series was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2. You're essentially getting more of the same, but the formula was already solid enough that getting more of what you know in newer locations is a good thing. The conclusion is more complicated if you were an aficionado of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4. With the types of changes and omissions made, a portion of the game feels more like it was inspired by the fourth mainline entry in the series rather than a remake or remastering effort. Purists will be disappointed by these decisions. If you aren't bothered by the changes, you'll find this to be a very good title overall.

While the 1+2 remake was excellent, Activision's track record with the series since the mid-2000s has been spotty at best. I'm thrilled that the skateboarding in this game feels just as good as it did 20+ years ago and that this goes beyond just a simple remake, with so many fun and enjoyable post-game challenges that builds off of the foundation. Something is lost in Tony Hawk 4's transition to the 2-minute timer, but I still had a great time saving Painter Neal from the shark in San Francisco. And the quality of the original levels Iron Galaxy made makes me hopeful for the future of the series, whether it leads to a brand new game or an attempt at remaking Tony Hawk's Underground. Regardless of whether or not you bring nostalgic baggage for the format from the fourth game, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is an excellent video game that will keep you kickflipping and reverting to increasingly higher scores for a long time.

True to its original philosophy, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 returns with a fresh look, featuring numerous changes and improvements that remind us why the series was the king of the genre for years. Beyond its free skating, challenges, combos, moves, and visual enhancements, this comeback is pure, unadulterated love for the world of skateboarding. Iron Galaxy brings back the roguelike format of the first episodes and invites us to crush the stages over and over again to become the best skaters with a range of modes and challenges, competitions, and free skating that is very difficult to resist.

Whether you are a first-time player or a returning pro, Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3+4 is an overall good time. A game that is simple enough to pick up, sit back, and lose yourself in for hours. With career mode, create a park, and multiplayer available, as well as optional game mods, there is plenty of content for players to grind their way through. Even without THPS4’s original career mode and lack of returning music, it still captures much of the essence and nostalgia of the originals while updating the visuals and adding new content. If you are a fan of the series or have ever dreamed of picking up a skateboard, I recommend checking it out.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater has always been fun, and these remakes are the perfect example of “if it’s not broke, why fix it?” Of course, it’s 2025 now and preferences have changed especially when it comes to both quality of life and accessibility, so it definitely would’ve been nice for those to be more of a focus.

My time with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 made me realize how overdue we are for a brand-new entry. This is a franchise that doesn’t need to reinvent itself to stay relevant. Sometimes, being fun is enough, and this remake delivers just that.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 represented a turning point in the series, striking a perfect balance between arcade gameplay, freedom, and style. While THPS 3 refined the classic formula of the first two iconic installments, THPS 4 successfully experimented with a more open-ended structure. Both titles, although technically outdated, remain just as fun thanks to eclectic gameplay characterized by a fluid and satisfying trick system and the depth of each unique map, full of shortcuts, secret areas, and perfect lines for tricking. A complete remaster with more up-to-date technical features (in the wake of THPS 1 + 2 Remake) would be desirable, as the 3D models and textures clearly show the technical limitations of the time, especially on modern screens, as does the camera, which can become unresponsive or confusing in tight spaces or during certain combos. This would restore them to their deserved glory, making them even more unforgettable.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is a truly entertaining title, capable of bringing back a genre that had fallen into oblivion. A game rich in possibilities and hilarious moments, in which the player's skill is the central focus of the experience. There are many characters, and the customization and creation options are almost endless.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 stays true to what made the originals fun—tight controls, clean trick systems, and replayable maps. Career mode is a blast, free skate keeps things loose, and online custom parks add serious variety.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is kind of "more of the same". It retains the gameplay and progression system with only minimal changes. While this offers a great experience, it doesn't fully maintain or preserve the original game. Despite this, the game continues to maintain the quality of the first collection and the maps from the original titles, along with new tracks created for this title. However, the changed gameplay of the fourth installment makes us wonder if we will see a final collection of this franchise or perhaps the next step will be to see an evolution in the Tony Hawk games.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is an excellent revisit to two of the franchise's best games, despite making a few missteps such as the absence of THPS4’s original campaign mode and other questionable decisions. Nevertheless, the addictive gameplay and strong nostalgia factor are enough to please both longtime fans and newcomers alike.
