The Outer Worlds 2 Reviews
The Outer Worlds 2 is not Obsidian at their best; it might be the worst Obsidian game I’ve ever played. For now, it is a sprawling failure of focus and pacing, a game that is often interesting by accident rather than by design.
The Outer Worlds 2 is a more expansive, more choice-heavy, and more satisfying western RPG that stands above most of its recent peers.
The Outer Worlds 2 is more of everything I liked before in The Outer Worlds, but dialled up to 110% - just like a new and improved offering from Auntie’s Choice!
The Outer Worlds 2 is okay, and perhaps that is its biggest flaw – it is unable to match either its powerful rivals or New Vegas, to which it is merely derivative. In a year packed with excellent games, it's hard to justify buying it when there are so many great, cheaper RPGs out there.

Obsidian is simply continuing its exploration of what a modern CRPG can be, delivering another title that's genuinely worth playing today. The Outer Worlds 2 stands out by being willing to tell a less traditional story and express ideas that aren't always comfortable or harmonious. And honestly, that alone is exactly what I hoped Obsidian would do.

The Outer Worlds 2 may not be the most innovative RPG, but what it does, it generally does very well. A step above the original game, TOW2 is worth the price of admission if you prefer story over run and gun action.
A roarcus space-fairing romp that would make Douglas Adams proud.
The Outer Worlds 2 is bigger and better than the original, but, alas, plays it much safer. Overall is a more solid effort from Obsidian, and has much more content than the first game, but the surprise effect from the 2019 is gone. Still, a solid and very fun RPG from one of the most talented teams around in creating worlds, interactions and dialogues.

You do not need to play the original game to enjoy this one, but playing through it does give you a deeper appreciation of the game’s backstory and lore, which you do not get from playing just the second game.
The Outer Worlds 2 is as good as the original game, and dare I say even a little bit better.
Ultimately, if you liked the first game, you will most certainly enjoy the sequel. It offers a much more solid RPG experience with lots of options for almost any type of playthrough. The writing is superior, the character progression system makes a lot more sense, and the level design is top notch too, along with voice acting.

Western RPGs have come along way in recent years. And in a post-modern design world — one with Baulder’s Gate III and Expedition 33 — I fear that Bethesda’s designs have gotten stale and bled into other studios. It feels basic at everything with subpar writing, a weird mission structure, and combat — while good, it isn’t anything new and different.
If you loved the first The Outer Worlds, you can be absolutely certain that you will adore the second game. Obsidian has worked its magic to deliver a masterpiece that fully lives up to its reputation as the "spiritual successor to Fallout: New Vegas." It thoroughly satisfies our craving for well-written western RPGs.

The Outer Worlds 2 is a collection of familiar RPG tropes and structures, yet Obsidian’s craftsmanship turns them into something remarkably polished and entertaining. In a world without giants like Mass Effect, The Elder Scrolls, or Deus Ex, it might have been hailed as a timeless masterpiece. Even so, by reimagining those established formulas without excessive ambition or pretense, Obsidian delivers a genuinely enjoyable and worthwhile experience — one I can easily recommend to any fan of the role-playing genre.

The Outer Worlds 2 is for those who love story-driven RPGs, complete freedom to choose your path, and interact with dynamic NPCs, and enjoy character creation and skill selection to build a build. Fans of Obsidian's previous games will experience the familiar sense of dark humor and social commentary, but if you're just looking for fast-paced, action-packed gameplay or get tired of complex paths and long dialogue, this game may not be for you. It's for people who value depth, freedom, and real impact on the world.

If you're a fan of Fallout and Western RPGs, this game is close to the pinnacle of that genre and is the legitimate and spiritual successor to Fallout New Vegas. A powerful experience with a deep story and relatable characters, with dire consequences for every choice and great freedom in every way. Xbox has done a brilliant job in delivering a premium first-party game that will satisfy RPG fans.

The Outer Worlds 2 is Obsidian Entertainment's best work to date - a perfect RPG for those seeking an old-school approach, one with more substance than expanse.
The Outer Worlds 2 builds on Obsidian's strengths: an authentic, smaller-scale RPG full of possibilities, with satire and moral decisions. Rather than competing with open-world giants in terms of scope, it emphasises its system, humour, and detail. If you enjoyed the first game or New Vegas, you will get exactly what you would expect from Obsidian here, only in a slightly bigger and prettier package, with a little more depth. It's Obsidian's most extensive RPG in this style yet.
