Kirby and the Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World Reviews
Kirby and the Forgotten Land's Switch 2 Edition is the best paid upgrade yet, and a worthy addition to one of the Switch's finest platformers.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World is the best looking and sounding version of the 2022 Switch offering, with some fun additional content and three new copy abilities. Replaying levels remains fun, as is exploring nooks and crannies of every wonderfully designed stage. Just realize the source material is a very good but not perfect title.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land remains a must-play platformer for Switch and Switch 2 owners. While it doesn't quite reach the heights of Super Mario Odyssey, HAL Laboratory delivers a stellar 3D reinvention of Kirby. The Star-Crossed World expansion blends seamlessly with the base game, adding variety and longevity. The only drawback is a price point that feels fair for the content, but was poorly communicated by Nintendo.

Forgotten Land was already a gorgeous-looking game, and this Switch 2 Upgrade makes it look and play even better. The Star-Crossed World campaign was a bit of wasted potential, resulting in something merely adequate, but the superb original core game remains one of the most enjoyable Kirby games of all time, which is fun to play at any age.
The definitive edition of a much-loved original Nintendo Switch game. Performance tweaks make the adventure buttery smooth (niche pun intended) and the Star-Crossed World content has been seamlessly integrated into the base game for excellent cohesion. Those stepping into this Kirby adventure for the first time should certainly consider the Switch 2 edition for the full, optimised experience. There's enough content for existing owners to consider an upgrade – a delicious desert, but it could leave you craving more.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land on Switch 2 features many audiovisual enhancements to original content and brings along interesting extra mode with smooth integration. The Switch 2 version is superior to base game and is the definitive edition with plenty of ideas and level design showcases.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World is the definitive version of Kirby's 3D adventure. It combines all the charm of the original game with graphical and performance improvements, new Mouthful Modes and collectibles, plus a new story and interesting characters. The game is still fun, but the new content is short and leaves the impression it could have been used better.

A very unique, beautiful and rich experience gets even better. The only fault that can be leveled at it is that the slow pace is sometimes too slow.

Brilliant level design that reimagines the base game: astral flowers and new transformations elevate the pace and verticality. Some sections with Cartel get stuck, but the smile doesn't fade.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World takes an already awesome game and makes it even better. From the lovely and challenging Star-Crossed World levels to all-new challenges and adorable collectibles, it's a real mouthful. ⭐
Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World continues the Kyoto giant's trend of re-releasing its greatest hits from recent years in an improved format and accompanied by new content. In this sense, the re-release is undoubtedly the benchmark for fully appreciating this highly successful chapter. The technical improvements make everything sharper and smoother, while the expansion proves capable of extending the longevity of the original title by introducing stimulating challenges and extra goodies. An unmissable title for all fans of the omnivorous pink ball, but also for all Switch 2 users.

Kirby & The Forgotten Land remains one of the best Switch games and this Switch 2 Edition only improves the experience. Adding performance and visual boosts and a new campaign that matches the quality of the main adventure, it's a worthy $20 upgrade. But for those entering Kirby's forgotten lands for the first time, it's a hefty asking price at $80. Even at that high price point, Kirby & The Forgotten Land SW2 Edition + Star-Crossed World is a fantastic 3D platformer I can recommend for returning fans and newcomers alike.
A combo of the great 3D Kirby and a new collection of levels which end up being the best of the bunch.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World is worth buying for anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of playing the original. But if you prefer something new rather than just recycled content, you can skip this DLC. The original title is still great to play on the first Switch, and the extra 30 frames per second are nice, but not necessary.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + The Star Fragment World is more than just a spruced-up remaster. It's a successful blend of technical rejuvenation and genuine new content that will lure even veterans back to the console. The basic framework remains unchanged: an accessible, charming adventure full of cute animations, clever abilities, and fun boss battles. But the Star Fragment World makes all the difference. It expands the gameplay with new level structures, collection mechanics, and challenging enemies, ensuring that the trip feels like a real upgrade rather than a simple reunion. The performance on the Switch 2 is flawless, the soundtrack is still a treat for the ears, and the mixture of childlike lightness and adventurous excitement remains fresh even after hours of play. Sure, there are a few points of criticism: the co-op mode could have been expanded more boldly, and the story remains typically simple for Kirby. But let's be honest: if you're looking for Shakespeare in a pink dumpling, you're playing the wrong game anyway. The end result is an adventure that appeals to fans and newcomers alike. Kirby remains the walking bundle of good cheer, and on the Switch 2, he shines brighter than ever before.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World is a great 3D platformer made better thanks the technical upgrades, and story expansion. Star-Crossed World offers fresh levels in every area of the original game that are a joy to play through, even though some criticism from the original release still remains.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a wonderfully crafted platformer that keeps surprising players with its original ideas right up until the very end. It’s clearly a project made with genuine love for the franchise, one that elevated the series to a completely new level of quality. It’s the first truly large-scale Kirby game, and it absolutely delivered. Even though I hadn’t had much experience with the adorable pink puffball before, I instantly became a fan!

As Switch 2 editions of OG Switch games go, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is probably the best.
It's the kind of title that I could hand over to anyone from the youngest to the oldest members of the family, and they could understand the mechanics. That kind of deeply mindful gameplay design is not easy, and it's what I love so dearly about Nintendo's titles. When they work, they work universally and without question.
The Switch 2 Edition of Kirby and the Forgotten Land plus the Star-Crossed World add-on is definitely worth a look. The new Mouthful Mode transformations are especially impressive and gave the game some extra twists I enjoyed. The new level sections strike a good balance between the feeling of having seen the level before only to have it completely turned upside down shortly after and the technical upgrade making the game look more beautiful and fluid than ever before. The fact that the performance upgrade on Switch 2 is locked behind the purchase of the edition is the only downside but other than that, the upgrade is truly comprehensive and, in my opinion, absolutely worth the purchase and the price.
