Kirby and the Forgotten Land's Star-Crossed World add-on throws a handful of fun new levels into the mix, but isn't the kind of substantial upgrade that will irresistibly suck you in like one of Kirby’s mouthfuls.
I can see Nintendo making these lush revivals a common occurrence on its new platform, and after Forgotten Land, that would be no bad thing.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land was already a stellar Switch game, and Star-Crossed World adds more of the same.
Kirby And The Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World gives you the base Forgotten Land experience at a delicious 60fps with a whole big bunch of new content thrown in for good measure. The 12 remixed areas that make up the DLC are uniformly delightful, the new transformations are excellent, and there's even new challenges for hardcore Kirby fans to get stuck into. One of the best games on Switch, and one of my favourite 3D platformers in years, polished to a sparkly sheen and packing some meaningful new content? That's a very easy recommendation and a truly excellent addition to the Switch 2's early lineup.
Combined with the DLC, the full game is an incredible package that I'd give a 9/10 any day of the week, but when purely analyzing what the DLC adds, it's not anywhere near a third of the content of the base game, even if that's the amount you're paying.
Nintendo and Hal Laboratory have once again pulled off an adventure that not only improves upon the original adventure but the added content offers enough to consider it essential. If you enjoyed the base game, the additional content will delight you and won't disappoint you at all. A perfect example of how to offer a new version of the game for one of the most beloved characters that exist.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + The Astral World is the definitive version of one of the most creative platformers of recent years. New levels, much-needed technical improvements, and more additions bolster an already well-rounded game. No matter how much you gulp, Kirby never gets sick.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land Switch 2 Edition + Star Crossed World is the definitive version of one of the Switch's best games and this game in any form is practically an essential purchase. The new content is well worth the upgrade price too, but if you sold your copy of the Switch version then the full price to return is pretty steep.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land was already a fantastic game, and this new upgrade is worth the $20 asking price. The increase in resolution and switch to 60fps make it look and feel far more polished than before, and while the 12 new stages are essentially little more than an expansion pack, in this case more of the same thing isn't a negative.
Still, if you haven't tried Kirby and the Forgotten Land yet, now is the perfect time to do so. You'll be able to experience the Star-Crossed World story in tandem with the core campaign, or ignore it entirely if you wish. Along with the enhanced Switch 2 performance, this modern Kirby classic will live on for another generation.
A return that isn't revolutionary, but confirms that Kirby and the Lost Land is still one of the most successful installments in the series. The graphical upgrade and new content don't transform the experience into something completely different, but they offer the perfect excuse to return to explore the meticulously crafted level design and the mind-blowing creativity of the Morphings.

The game looks and performs just as it did back in 2022. I hesitate to recommend something so expensive, but the game is still a lot of fun. Returning fans won’t want to miss this one, however. Star-Crossed World is a delightful addition to an already excellent Kirby game.
While not redefining the genre, the new Kirby is an insanely clever take on platforming that delivers a ton of laughs with its stellar co-op. The Star-Crossed World material adds a fair amount of value for veterans and makes an already sizable game even bigger for newcomers. This is a fantastic game to play through with a kid or a buddy, with challenges and secrets piled into its densely packed levels. Another winner for the Switch 2.
Kirby and the Lost Land returns to Nintendo Switch 2 in an improved and expanded version. For those who have never explored the post-apocalyptic landscapes explored by HAL Laboratory's little pink sphere, this is the perfect opportunity to revisit a fun, colorful platformer with brilliant art direction.

For Switch 2 owners who already own Kirby and the Forgotten Land and are weighing their options while new much-hyped games are being released (I'm looking at you, Silksong and Donkey Kong Bananza), Star-Crossed World is short but sweet, opting to replicate the success of the base game with a glittery new coat of paint. For Switch 2 owners who have not yet played Kirby's newest adventure, Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World is undoubtedly the definitive iteration and worthy of your time.
An excellent upgrade that lets Kirby and the Forgotten Land truly shine on Switch 2, though its pricing and brief new content hold it back from being an easy must-buy.
Overall, Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World brings a decent amount of new content to the table. The new Mouthful Mode abilities are great and work well in the new Starry Stages. While the lack of new Copy Abilities and a large number of reskinned familiar enemies might be a bit disappointing, the new content overall is certainly worth the cost of an upgrade pack for existing owners of the base game. For those who missed the original, the new content and performance improvements make it the best version of a fantastic platformer by far, and easily worth recommending to Switch 2 owners looking for a memorable experience.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land's Switch 2 Edition is the best paid upgrade yet, and a worthy addition to one of the Switch's finest platformers.
