BALL x PIT Reviews
BALL x PIT is a mash-up of Vampire Survivors and Breakout, and it is just as addictive. Runs are short and explosive, and you can feel the improvements in between them, all lending itself to giving it one last try, again and again.
Ball x Pit is a very easy game to pick up and play, though it’s also one where the central gameplay conceit is very much present in the free demo; I could see some gamers bouncing (pun not intended) off it pretty hard, but if the demo intrigues you, trust me, there’s a lot more to come that does get addictive fast.
BALL X PIT is one of the most satisfying and engaging games we've played all year. No matter what type of gamer you are, BALL X PIT is a must-play.
An excellent brick-breaking, ball-fusing, base-building survival roguelite on PS5
Feeling like a combination of Vampire Survivors and Peggle, BALL x PIT is a unique roguelike that we simply can't get enough of. It's tough, and death can come quite easily, but that just makes us want to jump in again and again.
BALL X PIT filled a hole, or a pit if you will, for me that I wasn't aware I had. The only thing I can do is keep crawling back out, shouting that others should join in, before I'm dragged back into its depths again. I don't think I'll be leaving the BALL X PIT anytime soon.
I really loved BALL x PIT. Its gameplay is addictive to no end and every aspect just enriches the experience that much more.
BALL x PIT combines so many distinct elements while creating such a unique and enjoyable formula that it's incredibly hard to put down. 🔮
Ball x Pit is a novel game that combines many roguelike, block-busting, and city organization elements in a way that makes sense.
Even with an uneven grind that loses purpose in the home stretch, Ball x Pit is still a mesmerizing mix of the brick breaker genre and auto-scrolling shooters. It doesn’t solely lean on one pillar, though, and greatly benefits from this hybrid approach. Stacking a screen-filling amount of upgrades and witnessing their destructive capabilities is empowering and being able to bounce balls with precision means it’s more than dopamine slop to passively consume. Ball x Pit certainly traffics in that space but does so intelligently and without feeling like a guilty pleasure. It’s just a pleasure, full stop.
In its current state, BALL x PIT is dangerous for my free time. It feels laser-targeted to me in somehow combining bits from genres I enjoy into something incredible. The Nintendo Switch version has a few rough edges and the game itself could use some visual tweaks for better readability, but I absolutely adore the time I’ve put into BALL x PIT. I can’t wait to work at unlocking everything it has to offer, assuming I don’t delete it so I can be more productive.
BALL x PIT is enchanting primarily for its originality; mixing genres is always a risky decision in the gaming world, but Kenny Sun and Devolver Digital have proven with their work that shooting spheres and breaking blocks can be extremely addictive and engaging, as well as a mesmerizing experience when all the pieces fit together. In the end, even the game's problems regarding grinding and repetitiveness aren't enough to prevent it from being highly recommended.

Is BALL x PIT destined to be the next roguelike addiction that will sweep the globe? Not quite. While this ball-flinging indie is a satisfying and creative genre twist, its reliance on repetition likely won’t capture players quite to the degree of other roguelike x greats. That’s not to say that BALL x PIT isn’t a well-rounded experience; in fact, it’s a game that most roguelike fans will find strangely relaxing and hypnotic. And if, like me, you’re nostalgic for the brick-breaking gameplay of yesteryear, then these balls are certainly worth grabbing.
Devolver Digital and Kenny Sun bring us a highly addictive title that combines action and strategy. In each stage, we must manage our weapons well, fuse the balls, and evolve them as much as possible.

To conclude, BALL x PIT was an otherworldly experience. From the graphics to the simple controls, all the way to the superb soundtrack, I found myself grinding for hours trying to make it to the next level, even when I felt like getting off
Ball x Pit is a very clever combination of genres that is expectedly pure chaos and a whole lot of fun.
BALL x PIT channels many familiar traits from other games. The block-busting gameplay of Breakout, the automated action of Vampire Survivors, and the constructive strategy of city builders. Where it succeeds is distilling these disparate elements down to their strongest, simplest elements and fusing them into an addictive rogue-like where it’s hard to resist just one more go.
BALL x PIT is one of the few roguelikes that truly stands out today. Devolver Digital let it go wild, resulting in a chaotic, creative experience powered by its brilliant Ball Fusion system. It’s fresh, fun, and unlike anything else—just buy it and see for yourself!
BALL x PIT is a digital delirium that mixes precision, luck, planning and stubbornness in almost perfect doses.
