Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a striking, very accessible (at first), and incredibly deep fighting game that brilliantly utilizes Marvel's heroes and Arc System Works' expertise. The stunning visuals, excellent 4v4 system, and wide variety of fighters provide plenty of fun, though the campaign could be longer, the roster larger, and the selection of modes even more extensive. However, the foundation is strong enough that with the right support, the game could sustain an active community for a long time.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is a top-notch fighting game. Easy to learn, complex to master, and gorgeous in action, it's pretty much everything I could have expected from a combination of Marvel and ArcSys. A surprisingly robust single-player campaign and comprehensive tutorials also help it shine, even if you're not interested in multiplayer. The game's notable online crossplay issues are the biggest thing holding it back, but patches have already started to address some of those problems. If you're a fighting game fan, Tokon is well worth checking out. For newcomers, it could be one of the best introductions to fighting games available.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls manages to bring its own identity to a classic genre. Interesting mechanics, well-developed characters, and excellent graphics. However, problems with the online modes, few interesting offline modes, and a relatively small cast prevent the title from shining as it should.

Marvel T& 333;kon: Fighting Souls delivers excellent, highly addictive fighting mechanics that make it one of the year's strongest fighters. Its four-character tag system feels fresh, the roster is varied, and the game offers a solid selection of single-player and multiplayer modes. However, the story campaign becomes repetitive very quickly, while the PC version's technical problems negatively affect the crossplay experience even on PS5. Despite these flaws, the outstanding gameplay makes Marvel T& 333;kon a very easy game to recommend to fighting game fans.

Arc System Works has struck a good balance between accessibility, spectacular visuals, and challenging gameplay. The 4 vs. 4 battles sounded risky, but they're handled without much difficulty. Visually, it's a real eye-catcher, with some more or less successful "Japanese-style" redesigns.

Marvel Tokon has succeeded in introducing a fighting experience that fits the legacy of Marvel characters in the fighting genre. Much of that is thanks to its distinct art style, alongside its packed content, a healthy variety of mods, and its fast, fun combat system built around 4v4 showdowns. To be a standout in the genre, has a clear identity of its own, and proving that Marvel still has a prominent place in the fighting game scene.

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is proof that it’s still possible to reinvent the wheel in an established genre. The shared health bar completely changes the way you think strategically during a match, while the assist and tag mechanics are packed with nuances. The story mode, despite being tied to the genre’s traditional formula, stands out thanks to its comic-book presentation and different artists for each team. The extra modes are there for some temporary fun, the roster could be larger, and the Portuguese voice acting, while inconsistent, is a fantastic gift to Brazilian players. In the end, Tokon’s issues are minor compared to an extremely solid, creative, and addictive experience. If you’re a Marvel fan, a fighting game fan, or both, Tokon deserves your full attention.

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is not perfect, but its strengths are much more important than its shortcomings. It feels fresh without losing the bits of fighting games you know. And it has enough depth that you can keep discovering new possibilities long after you learn the basics. For a new fighter, it makes a strong argument for itself on the PS5 as one of the more enjoyable entries in the genre.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a competent fighting game, and given Arc System Works’ pedigree, I would expect nothing less. The flashy and over-the-top moveset genuinely makes you feel like you are a superhero smashing up the city in a life-and-death fight for justice. The combat system is robust with plenty of variety once you start exploring off the game’s standard combo paths, but given the structure, this might not be the most friendly fighting game to cut your teeth on.
