Who cares that Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is built on a thirteen-year-old game. It still captivates and literally keeps you glued to the screen.

And a remake can never quite replicate the first-time experience of a genre-defining original. But within its remit, Ubisoft's latest Assassin's Creed title succeeds where many remakes and remasters have failed.
Remaster, remake, rerelease: gamers know the terms, but what do we expect from them—updated graphics and better quality, of course. AC Black Flag Resynced delivers that and much more. Ubisoft gives the community what it asked for in the AC franchise: a return to the seas. Few games stand the test of time, yet 2013’s Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag remains a staple in gaming and is still regarded as the best in the AC series.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is a beautiful rework which retains the legacy of the original game whilst bringing some meaningful additions and upgrades. Does it mimic the magic of the 2013 outing, however? I’d say that if you have never played Black Flag, then this will feel like a fresh game to you. If you completed it 13 years ago, then you’ll still find fun in reliving the memories with around six hours of new content. With a visual overhaul, updated combat and parkour mechanics, reworked naval combat and lots of quality-of-life improvements, this is an exceptional remake and not just a quick cash grab. For Assassin’s Creed fans out there, it is a must-buy. Alternatively, you could subscribe to Ubisoft Plus and try to smash out the campaign without investing in the game fully.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is a great remake of an already tremendous video game, and one I imagine I’ll continue playing long after this review goes live. Despite its removal of the present-day sequences, it still maintains the heart of the original and makes its brightest spots shine as bright as ever. Resynced now stands as my favorite game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, without a shadow of a doubt.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag returns 13 years later with a remake aimed at introducing the franchise to newcomers, preserving what worked beautifully despite a few changes that hinder the overall experience. Even so, taking the helm of the Jackdaw with Edward and sailing the seas during the Golden Age of Piracy remains absolute bliss.

Ubisoft proves that the best way to honor a classic is to deeply understand what made it special, refining the combat, world, and story around Edward Kenway while having the wisdom to leave that core magic untouched.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is a well-made, but inessential remake that loses more than it gains.
More than just a shinier version of the same game you remember, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced brings what was already one of the best games in the series up to today’s standards.
There is an ebb and flow to Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: for every positive change the remake offers, it feels like there's a negative just beneath the surface.
If you enjoyed the original adventure, chances are you will love Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. It keeps everything that made that game so special and adds more than enough new content to make revisiting it worthwhile.
All said, I regard Resynced with the exact same sentiments as Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Resynced goes beyond the scope of a traditional remaster and adjusts the content of Black Flag to make improvements to the experience (what you’d expect for a remake).
Edward Kenway is back in a beautiful new coat of paint.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced offers (almost) everything you could want from a remake. It looks stunning, adds worthwhile new content, makes loads of smart improvements, and the simple joys of being a ruthless pirate on the open seas haven't faded with time. $59.99 at Amazon $59.99 at Amazon $59.99 at Target Check Best Buy
More importantly, it avoids the design pitfalls of recent RPG-era Assassin’s Creed titles, delivering a focused experience that never feels padded or bloated. After spending over 40 hours with it, I came away not only impressed, but genuinely reminded of why I fell in love with this series in the first place.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag: Resynced is the best possible tribute Ubisoft could have paid to one of the most beloved and iconic installments in the saga.

A hallmark of excellence. There may be flaws, but they are negligible and won't cause massive damage. Black Flag might be Resynced, but its heart remains.
Nevertheless, Edward Kenway returns to star in an adventure that borders on the outstanding, full of excitement, secrets, spectacle, rum, and chickens to feed. A pirate, yes, but with a heart.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is a high quality remake of the original, but the franchise’s formula is still ever-present, as is the jank. This remake doesn’t revolutionize the series, but what it does do is add enough and change enough about the 2013 version to give fans another superb reason to jump back aboard and experience Edward’s story again.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is a triumph. Whilst I was nervous about such significant changes, they are mostly for the better. Combat in particular is a bit more challenging now, whilst also still allowing quick assassinations, naval warfare now has more options and is still the best ship-to-ship combat in gaming, and the removal of the modern day sequences makes space for more historical story and missions. It can get a little muddled and has the classic Ubisoft quirks and issues, but i 's hard not to enjoy this remake.
